Carol Sue, Thank you. I expect to be one of those cancer survivors too. I've heard it said that attitude has a lot to do with outcome, and my faith is strong to help me get through it. I know God is walking through it with me. I've seen so many miracles in my own life the years so I find it easy to believe this is my turn to have the miracle my family needs to see through me. I do appreciate all prayers along the way. I'm glad your friend is a survivor as well. I'm always grateful to hear of those who are.

Weight is down to 185.8 and FBG is 126. I am back OP today. I am planning my lowcarb woe around some of the things I learned when DH had prostate cancer. Cooked tomatoes of any kind in juices or sauces have lycopene which is a cancer fighter. His cancer started shrinking from drinking a lot of tomato juice, but we decided to have the gland removed while the cancer was in the gland. Since it doesn't sound hopeful for the ovary to be removed, I plan to drink tomato juice and use tomato sauces a lot in my meal plans where I can.

I drank tomato juice and had my eggs and bacon for breakfast. We are having pizza today and I will have mine topped with ground turkey meat instead of the Jimmy Dean sausage I usually use in order to keep the sodium down. I will also have a protein shake tonight in order to get the protein I need. So I will shoot for a 7 or 8 hr eating window. Not sure when I ate because I was talking to babysister and her hubby while eating breakfast. Calories today will be 1003 net carbs 68 g and 80 g protein. I will have to have DH help me get my legs high enough to use the recumbant bike, it is in my plan to use it for 15 minutes and also use the vibe machine for 5 or 10. I want to get back to my exercise if I can and work up to the 30 minutes the want me to do most days.

Hope everybody has a great day.

Trish, I love tomato juice. I should buy it more often because what I buy DH drinks so I let him have it. I love tomatoes and any meal containing tomatoes or tomato sauce. My mother often served canned tomatoes as a side dish with butter and chunks of bread added. We loved it.

Once again I am not hungry for dinner. I ate eggs, sauteed mushrooms and toast for brunch. Now DH made hot dogs for his lunch and I ate half of one. I gave up on cooking dinner because I cook things and he doesn't want them. He wants things that can be ready in 10 minutes.

Our sewer is backed up again and we are waiting for the plumber to return our call. They are closed today but I'm hoping they check their messages on weekends for emergencies.

Carol Sue, I am so sorry about your sewer and hope they get out to fix it this weekend.

That is amazing about how your Mother made bread tomato dish. DH loves that except he doesn't put butter in his.

I shared on my FB IF group for 40, 50 and beyoung about me having to deal with cancer treatment soon. I love how God is always ahead of me and has something new that I need. A lady wrote and told me that Dr. Fung has a book titled The Cancer Code. I ordered it and had it downloaded to my kindle. I've having to charge the kindle so I can read the book. I will start reading it tonight or in the morning.

Today has been a good eating day. I didn't eat all the pizza. I only ate 3/4ths of it but left it counted as it was on MFP because I only show 1003 calories. I still have to drink the protein shake, but I don't really want it, however, I probably will drink it because it is a difference of having 50 or 80 grams of proteiin and doc says I need the protein. I've decided to try not to eat regular white flour or regular sugar any more than necessary because I've heard it feeds cancer. I'm not sure many docs even understand or beieve that but no need to take any chances.

Good night.

Trish, I was just reading about how fasting helps with cancer and it said that fasting lowers blood glucose and glucose feeds cancer. I saw that cancer book by Dr Fung but didn't buy it. I belong to a fasting group for 40 50 and beyond. I wonder if it is the same one.

The plumber never called so DH bought some stuff to put down the sewer. I hope it works. If it doesn't work my SIL said he will call his friend who will check it cheap.

WeigIht was the the same 185.8 as yesterday and the FBG 119. The pizza may have had more sodium than I thought. But that is still good. I was going to make spaghetti today but changed my mind.

Yes the FB group you are on is the same one I'm on. I am going to enjoy being on this group concerning what I am going through because I think they can answer some of my questions. I asked them about autophagy because you hear so many different ideas on when autophagy takes place during a fast. I got 2 charts they shared. One says 16 hrs and the other says 18 to 20 hrs. The one that gave a pro tip saying for optimal results to fast around 16 hrs says with occasional longer challenges. I have decided to go back to my 20 hr fasts with 2MAD within 4 hrs. In order to get my protein that I need, I will drink a protein shake with one of the 2 meals and then pray the Lord will help me to get enough hrs of autophagy hrs to work on helping get rid of the cancer cells hoping the 16 hr is when it starts so I get at least 4 hr of autophagy each day. I will also work in a few days of OMAD each week to add more hrs of autophagy as well. I won't be eating sugar either so as not to feed it that way either.

Carol Sue, I hope you get your plumbing working again.

Have a great Sunday everybody.

Trish, there are so many different opinions of when autophagy starts its hard to know what to believe. This article says much longer.

https://www.medicinenet.com/how_long...gy/article.htm

I believe its longer because when you start your fast the body is still digesting your last meal. Then it takes time for your body to use up the stored glycogen. This is just my opinion from what I've read. I am no authority. I understand wanting autophagy in your circumstances but would not go over 24 hours without doctor supervision. That's not to say that 20 hours isn't great fasting. and in my opinion any fasting is beneficial.

DH thinks the sewer is clear. We would have to put a lot of water down to be sure. He wants to go to the casino but I don't want to go until we know the sewer is clear. The plumber will probably call back tomorrow and I don't want him to come if its already cleared.

My BIL got scammed yesterday. The only thing that saved him was when he went to buy the gift cards the retailer refused to sell them to him. $11k.

The sewer is still clogged. A lot of water goes in but it eventually stops so that means its blocked out toward the street. So it looks like we need the plumber!

Hi Pipsicle! Nice to see you stopping in.

We didn't go to the casino. I said I didn't want to go but I would, but we didn't go. The best weather here will be Tuesday so we will go then. I don't want to go in bad weather.

We ate a frozen pizza we had. I think it was old and it wasn't very good.

Pipsicle Thanks. Have a good week.

Carol Sue Sorry to hear about the plumbing problems. Also sorry to hear about your BIL being scammed. Sure glad he wasn't able to buy the cards.

I did the 4 hr eating window which seemed like too much food. I did about 1059 calories and net carbs of 59 g. Fasting now until noon tomorrow.

I didn't read all the history and medical stuff about cancer in the Cancer Code. He doesn't mention my situation but he did mention fasting and keto so I might need to eat keto. He says no high carbs or sugar. He also says that fasting help chemo to work better and helps keep the side effects from being so bad. There seems to be some treatments that works with the immune system that is promising from what I can tell so I am hoping that I will be able to do something like that along withthe fasting/keto woe. I'm glad I am able to read this book and get the info that is in it to help me know what to look for when I see the oncologist. Looks like keto is going to be my new woe and I need to develop a taste for green tea. This is all from Dr. Fung's Cancer Code book. No guarantee, but it has worked for some so why not me too.

We are doing laundry and I'm already tired and sleepy. Carol Sue I hope you can get a plumber out there tomorrow.

Scale is up to 182 today. Yesterday my stomach started hurting, mild, and I'm very gassy. I don't know what that's about. I would like to fast today until I feel truly hungry but that's hard with DH always cooking breakfast. I take the blame for that because i can't resist eggs.

Trish, I know you will be going through some difficult times but you have the right attitude.I'm proud of you. You are staying on top of this and doing your research.

I cancelled my request to join that FB group then requested it again. I don't know how they choose but I may be rejected because I have nothing on my page. They can't find out anything about me.

_________________________

I just checked and I am accepted. Unfortunately I'm going to cancel because it is not what I expected. It is post after post of promotions for various weight loss products, collagen, and other skin products. The members don't seem like real people, but just ads,for the products. I feel they were deceptive in their statement of what the group represents.

The plumber called and he's coming later this morning. Unfortunately we got a couple inches of snow overnight and its still snowing lightly. Hopefully this will be an easy fix he can do from the garage, but last time they had to go through the sewer trap in the driveway.

TMI. I had 2 bowel movements today and my stomach feels better. That might even help on the scale.

Carol Sue Glad you are better and do so hope the plumber can fix things without too much trouble.

I do have a good attitude about everything. I woke up with the plan on my mind. I feel like the Lord leads me and shows me what I need to do. My baby sister called me this morning and told me about a water her DIL's brother has drank to keep his cancer at bay so that he has lived 4 yrs longer than doctors told him he would. We will go buy it tomorrow when we go shopping. Today I plan to have a keto breakfast which will be an egg omelet made with mushrooms and whatever other veggies I can find. When we go to the store tomorow, I will get some good veggies to add to my omelets.

Dinner will be pork chops and a salad. Since primary stressed I don't have colon cancer, I am going to go back to eating my salads with EVOO and ACV. I'm also drinking green tea today. BS says the key is to get past the green taste. If nothing else, I will get a head start on whatever treatment the oncologist and I can agree on. Fasting today will be 20 hrs Since keto is a natural diuretic, I am stopping the Lasix. I remember Dr. Atkins said not to take them when low carbing.

Have a nice day everybody.

Trish, I'm ok with the taste of green tea. I'm curious to know, what water you are going to buy.

The plumber just arrived. I just had my 3rd bowel movement of the day.

1. No wonder my stomach hurt
2. No wonder the sewer is clogged

Its not potty issues, just normal.

Carol Sue, I don't know the name of the water. They can't advertise it so it is something done by word of mouth I guess like a lot of health food store things are. When Mama had cancer we had something we had to call for and they sent it to us for her take. When Mama died, the first thing the doctor asked Daddy was, "what happened? She was cancer free". We think she died from radiation poison. Dr. Fung mentions how a lot of treatments back then got rid of cancer but the patient died any way.

I'm glad you are able to potty and get rid of wCarol Sue Glad you are better and do so hope the plumber can fix things without too much trouble.

I do have a good attitude about everything. I woke up with the plan on my mind. I feel like the Lord leads me and shows me what I need to do. My baby sister called me this morning and told me about a water herohat you needed to get rid of without actual potty issues. Also glad you got the plumbing done without it costing more.

My omelet was very good. I just had mushrooms, onions and cheese to put in it but it was very satisfying. Not sure if I'm going to use MFP or not. I've got cheese pieces in small oven to make into mach cheese crackers so I can have them with my salad and cut my pork chip into it as a semi-chef salad. I will use EVOO/ACV dressing in it. This is how I ate in SC.

I've got to go in and listen and write down the 12 things Dr. Berg says helps you get into autophagy. Evidently keto also helps get into it. It would be nice to be able to have it working all the time instead of just when fasting.

Trish, your omelet sounds good. I could order that for dinner when we go to Bob Evans but I never think of it.

The plumber told us about an elderly couple whose sewer clogged up but they never went into our basement so they didn't know it was flooded. By the time they figured it out they had 6 inches of water in the basement and it was from the shower, the sink and the TOiLET.. I don't know if the plumber had to clean it out but if he did I can just imagine how much they charged them. I would think it really smelled terrible! We are in our basement every day. DH uses the bathroom down there and when we go out we go through the basement to the garage.

I was reading about water and it said cancer patients should drink alkaline water so I wonder if that's what it is. They sell that in Wal-Mart next to the electrolyte water I buy. A lot of people buy it.

Carol Sue, I wonder if it is alkaline water too. They never have it at our Walmart, people must use it a lot. I looked for it one time and they had a place for it but someone buys it.

That is weird about that couple. You would think they would have smelled something.

I had only 1048 calories and on 7% was carbs so carbs were very low. I do need to get back to using the recumbant bike when I can because Dr. Berg talks like exercise during a fast makes the autophagy last longer once it kicks in.
