I'm not surprised, but not happy either to see the scale at 180.2. Up 1.2 lb the day after Christmas is not bad. I'm hoping it is the ham and hope to get it back down soon.
I need to go to Walmart. I dread it the day after Christmas. Maybe I can hold off til tomorrow.
Today I want to clean out the refrigerator. Get rid of all the leftovers that will not be eaten. DH found moldy cheese in there yesterday. We like cheese but sometimes I buy too much and it doesn't get eaten.

Carol Sue, I have 2 Christmas gifts that needs to be exchanged at Walmart and we have decided to wait until next week to do it because we figure everybody will be doing that today and tomorrow. I need to go to the local store by Sam's tomorrow when we go shopping and I don't like to have to go to 3 stores on the same day. It is just too much these days.
I've had the same problem with cheese myself. I've found that some cheese lasts longer than others.
Weight is down .6 lbs today and FBG was down to 102. Sad that I can gain weight so fast, but takes forever to get it to come back down. Having another OMAD today. Talapia with veggies etc. Calories will be 775 and carbs 53 with 47 net carbs. I hope to make this my way of loss weight as long as I can or at least until I get weight back down in 170s or 180s. I want the autophagy working for me.
Have a nice day everybody.

Wal-Mart was crowded. Mostly it was over in lawn and garden where they had the Christmas merchandise half off. I just picked up some Christmas cards for next year. The check outs were lined up. I didn't notice the return counter.
I got my sauerkraut, .hot dogs, kielbasa and pork for New Years. I picked up a bag of apples and they fell out and rolled all over the floor, half of them rolled under the couner. DH said I should have picked them up but I can't bed over that much and it wasn't my fault the bag was open. I came home and had a hard cooked egg and an apple for brunch. I'm going to get pizza shop pizza for a snack on DHs birthday so I can get a white pizza for DIL. She cannot eat tomato sauce with her long Covid issues. I feel really bad for her. Anywhere she goes her food choices are limited. Step son cooks and eats a lot of meat and she can't eat it. I also bought 2 frozen pizzas in case the ones I buy from the pizza shop aren't enough. I think I will get cupcakes so I can get half chocolate and half yellow.
I think you have a good recovery plan going, Trish, keep up the good work!

Tomorrow is not going to be a good scale day. I wasn't feeing good so we went to Bob Evans and I had Chicken noodle deep dish. It is great comfort food, good for cold weather, but very high carb. When I totaled MFP carbs were over 100 but it still predicted my weight at 173. I think they go by calories but don't consider carbs. I think I am going to show a gain.

Carol Sue, Maybe you won't have a gain and if you do it won't last.
I ended with a OMAD... 799 calories, total 50 g carbs with a net 41 g.
I ate a salad and have had indigestion all evening. As much as I love salads and keep trying to eat them, I think I have to give them up because it makes my stomach very upset. So I will have to replace them with a cooked vegetable.

Scale is up .6 to 180.8. I am trying to stay calm. I know what to do to fix this.
I like a salad but I have to be in the mood . I usually prefer a hot vegetable. I have no issues with either one so far. I'm sorry to hear they are bothering you. I wonder why, after being able to eat it with no problem. Before I met DH he never ate salad because he didn't like any dressing. After I introduced him to Ranch dressing he likes them. But he only likes iceberg lettuce. He pushes all other greens aside. No spinach, no romaine and no field greens. I think those are the best part. I rarely make salads at home because I only buy iceberg because of him. If I buy anything else it goes bad before I can eat it all. I occasionally buy bagged salad but I'm afraid of it because of all the recalls. DH won't eat bagged salad. At Bob Evans I have seen them use bagged salad but DH doesn't believe me. He thinks restaurants chop all those veggies fresh when you order a salad. He also thinks restaurants don't serve anything that's been frozen.
I want to cook dinner today but don't know what to make. I have to decide soon to take something out of the freezer. I would like to make chili but DH is not a fan. He prefers canned chili to my home made. Years ago he asked me to put macaroni in my chili. It makes it more hardy. Now he tells me my chili is not real chili because I put macaroni in it. Since he ate canned chili all his life he thinks that's real chili. I ate home made chili all my life. His mother never made home made chili or beef stew but she kept canned in the house in case someone got hungry. He will not eat home made beef stew, only canned.
After this post, I'm hungry for a salad. Someone posted on Twitter today, if you want to lose weight, every day you should have 1) a big salad 2) 2 pieces of fruit and 3) 3 bottles of water. The 1,2,3 plan. You can eat other things but this has to be included. Everyone has their own opinion. I agree this could help but the other things you eat could make or break the plan.

Carol Sue, Your DH sounds just like mine. We didn't eat much chilli until after Mama died and Daddy made it. He always made it from scratch. The DH#2 would make it homemade too. Then I married DH#3 and he and his first wife always made it with 1 c chilli with beans and 1 ca without beans plus a can of tomato juice. He won't eat it any other way. Oh and it has to be Hormel. Of course that is very high in sodium which is a problem for me. DH won't eat anything but iceberg lettuce. I don't think I have problems with the bagged greens so I might try eating that. I will have to see. But I probably just eat cooked veggies for a while. I actually have had problems with raw veggies before but not as bad as it was last night.
I understand where you are coming from with the weight being up. Mine is a real battle right now because I am stuck between 192 and 193 struggling not to see 193. FBG is staying between 102 and 110 but it has read that way since the new meter so that is probably okay. I just don't want it to go any higher.
I am so mad at myself for letting this happen again. However, I think my weight issues right now may be from sodium because my feet are still swollen. I am determined not to use the Lasix although I have them and could use them as he prescribed me to take 1 a day. I just don't want to get into the habit. I think the reason I was lossing so good before ws all the potty issues I was having back then which I seem to have under control now. I sure don't want potty issues to lose again. I would like the weight loss to be real. I'm also being cautious about the swelling because if you remember my Daddy had CHF and I surely don't want to go down that road. I'm wondering if I need to try the DASH diet that babysister did when she had high blood pressure. She started losing on that diet and couldn't stop losing. I think that is why she switched to a semi keto diet. I don't have high blood pressure but I don't want it either. I might have to look into it.
DH wants Chinese today since we are going to Sam's and HEB (local store) next to the Chinese place. I will have to be careful with that one. I'm sure they have sodium as well as MSG although they aren't supposed to. I heard people still use MSG it is just labels something else. I definitely want to get my SLMG bread at Sam's. If it wasn't for me eating with DH, I would probably go on keto for a week or two to get the fluid off. We do make a lot of choices because of our DHs. I still may do keto any way but can't start that until Thursday because we ae supposed to go out to eat with my sisters and their Hubbies tomorrow. DBIL is off this week. He goes back and works next week and then he is retired and we can do things whenever we all want. It will be nice to be with them since we having seen them since before Thanksgiving.
I forgot to ask you how your step daughter's Christmas dinner went. It is so good for her to learn how to do this while you are still around to give her advice. Of course the bad thing is that you and I know that she will now be the one who will always do it carrying the tradition you carried all those years. Now it will be expected of her.
We know we can do this Carol Sue. I don't know if things are harder because we are older or what, but if we don't give up, we will figured it out by the grace of God. Have a nice day

Looked up DASH and it is not much different from old WW plan. Similar to Mediterranean diet but with guide lines. Very carby.

I am making chili. DH agreed to it.
Step daughters Christmas dinner went great. I don't think she will have to do this all the time because her sister in law will trade off with her sometimes. DHs sister. She won't have to do it unless she wants too, or her DH volunteers her time. she was happy this time. We can choose to go or not. She doesn't push us. I doubt if I will ever do it here again and I will help anyone else who wants to do it.
If your feet are swelling I think you should take the Lasix but not just for weight loss. The foot swelling is not good. It should get better if you get back on track. It seems that something has changed with you the way you are gaining, the swelling and trouble with salads. You have not changed your eating that much.

I was able to get tilapia at Sam's and I got more swai at HEB and I also got some pork chops. I usually get boneless pork but they didn't have the economy size so had to get the ones with bone. Someone must be having them for a NYE party because the boneless were all gone. I picked up a few more groceries. Boy groceries are really high. What I bought used to cost a little over hundred dollars but now it is much more. Things are about double what it used to be.
Right now I'm not going to worry about carbs. I am counting calories and watch how much sodium I eat. That is one thing MFP does keep up with is the sodium. We had the Chinese dinner and I've decided to start weighing and measuring everything so as not to guess on portion sizes and calories when eating at home. I can't do that when eating in a restaurant but I can just eat less when eating out. I had a slice of dry toast this morning, 6 pieces of Sweet n Sour chicken without saucee and 1/2 c fried rice and a glass of 2% milk along wih a keto ice cream bar. For supper I had peanut butter sandwich with 2 sl SLMG bread and 1TBLS creamy PB and a c of no sugar added hot chocolate. Total calories were 1062. I will try to keep my calories between 1000 and 1200. I recently read that eating less than 1000 calories a day is a myth, but I seem to do better when I at least 1000 and be more conscience of porion control.
We are going to Cheddar's to eat tomorrow with my sisters and I've decided to stay OP. I will try the salmon that looked so good that DBIL ate last time and 2 vegetables no salad. I think not eating salads will help keep calories down.
I did take a Lasix and will take it until I get thie swelling under control.
I'm happy with the way my day has gone and hope your day has been good too.

I went a little over 1000 calories and 82 grams of carb. I didn't think I lost my sense of taste but my chili tasted bland. I add a little bit of spice but don't make it hot. I did not add salt because DH salts his food before even tasting it so I stopped cooking with salt so he doesn't get too much. So maybe it just needed salt. I was able to taste the 2 Vanilla Wafer cookies I just ate! I am craving chocolate ice cream from Dollar General. They sell this cheap ice cream that is the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had. I told DH that I'm not going to eat it until the new year. Well, when he went out he stopped for it but he said he walked all the way to the back of the store and they were out of chocolate. Thank the Lord! He saved me from giving in.
I was supposed to get a delivery today and it never came. Its not an expensive item but I need it. Tracking says it would come today but it never said delivered.

Scale is up .4 to 181.2. It is making me angry, but I'm doing this to myself. In my opinion its the carbs and eating outside my preferred eating window. I have been between 1000-1100 calories but carbs have been over 50 and in some cases over 100. When I finalize my entry at MFP it predicts 173. So to me, MFP is a nice app for recording your food and nothing more. It is not correct in my opinion.
Today on Twitter Dr Tro, a weight loss doctor posted this.
How to do Keto and IF in 3 easy steps. 1). If hungry eat eggs, meat, fish or chicken +/- vegetables. 2) If still hungry eat more eggs, meat, fish or chicken. 3) If not hungry don't eat.
No chocolate ice cream!
I wish I could do that but it would be hard married to DH.

Carol Sue, I understand how you feel. I wish I had kept doing what I was doing before holidays. Nothing I had was worth the weight I've gained. I feel like I'm just starting over now. I think eating the way that doctor says is right but it has been I haven't been able to give up all the carbs I need to give up. Right now I'm just trying to get back to clean healthy eating. I definitely believe we should not eat if we aren't hungry. So I will make my plans tracking on MFP, but that doesn't mean it is written in stone that I have to eat it.
We are going out to eat with DS and her hubby. Our BS and her hubby aren't going with us. I could have gone or stayed home whatever but DS & BIL wanted to go and she and I both need to get out of the house as we stay home too much. She stays home more than I do as she has everything even groceries delivered to her. I've never done that because it would be bad for me as I don't move around enough as it is.
I have my plans for today tracked on MFP. I went on line at Cheddar's and planned my food ahead of time using the calorie counts. I wanted to try the salmon but it was more calories so I am sticking to the top sirloin steak plus veggies and DH and I may half a roll. I had 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and 1 sl SLMG toast for breakfast. I am drinking decaf instant coffee now with only stevia so that my fasts are cleaner. I have added a protein shake for supper or snack because I need the protein and calories to get to 1000 on MFP. If I have all that my calories will end up being 1052 with 40 grams net carbs.I will keep this within 8 hr eating day today.
We will go to Walmart after we eat because Cheddar's is right there by Walmart. I plan to get what I can today while DH returns everything so that we don't have to go out again until next Wednesday when we go to the dentist.
Have a good day.

Trish, I feel the same as you, nothing I had was worth the weight I gained. Today we are having pizza because DHs kids are coming so still not a good day.
Enjoy your dinner at Cheddars. We don't have that here. I am not a big steak lover but I could go for the salmon. I haven't had salmon for a while.
I had scrambled eggs and mushrooms today. Maybe I'll make a salad before they come so I can be satisfied with one slice of pizza. DH did not want a cake. They will be disappointed but its his birthday so he decides. DGS likes to sing Happy Birthday.
