The scale went down again, 176.6. I knew it would after not eating dinner last night. I just can't get rid of this congestion and it takes away my appetite.

Carol Sue, that the weight is still coming down, but so sorry that you still have congestion. The sad thing about covid is something does seem to linger a while afterwards.

Weight this morning back down .6lbs to 186.4. FBG is back to 109 which seems to be where it stays now if I don't go overboard with carbs. Now to keep that going. One advantage I do have is DH is walking this path with me concerning bs. For example we have decided that the desserts we want during the holidays that we will half a serving rather than eat the whole serving. This way we get the pleasure of having it but not raise bs at the same time. We also won't have it everyday. Most of our other foods will be lower carb/glycemic which are bs friendly.

Have a good day everybody and stay warm.

I wasn't hungry again for dinner but DH wanted home made scalloped potatoes so I ate some of them. I'm getting tired of them but they are a favorite of his. I like mashed potatoes but he hardly ever wants them. We just don't like the same things anymore and I'm tired of eating things I don't want. I know that this is not the best way to lose weight but I am eating every day. I'm just not eating as much as I should.

Yes,its very annoying that the congestion is lingering. It starts to clear up then I go out in the cold and it comes back.

Scale continues down. 176.0. I'm not going to worry about this. I'm way overweight and if the weight goes down, it goes down. I'm eating, just not as much as before. I'm just going to go with it.

We got a dusting of snow overnight. I don't know if there's more coming or not. The temps are only in the 20s or 30s.

_________________________________

Yesterday I ended up with 1038 calories and 131 carbs. I didn't plan that. This morning I went back and added what I ate before bed. I had a half of a tuna salad sandwich and 2 Oreo cookies. So I guess this is what I'm eating normally without planning. I was neither hungry or full. I hope to continue with this. The carbs are coming from bread, potatoes and cookies.

Today I had brunch of scrambled eggs and sauteed mushrooms. After I ate that it jarred my appetite and I could have eaten more. I think I'm very close to getting my old appetite back but I'm going to try not to. I think I'm doing fine like this now that I realise I'm actually eating close to 1000 calories in total.

I have chicken legs in the oven for the dog. And I put some cubed steak in the slow cooker with a jar of turkey gravy. I had the gravy left over from Thanksgiving and I don't have any other use for it. I never made this meat like this so I don't know how its going to turn out. I don't know if DH is going to eat it but I want mashed potatoes with it and a vegetable. I hope he will eat it.

Carol Sue, You are doing great. Looks like you got a jumpstart from the covid. I am so very happy for you. I really don't think you will see the 180s again.

I'm back to tracking on MFP. My weight was 187 again this morning and I'm not accepting that. I'm not going to worry about short IF eating windows right now although I do want to keep things withina 8 hrs. I am going to work at just eating healthy and keeping calories around 1200 but set a limit of 1400 calories for special times. So today I'm pretty much back OP. No Christmas treats again until Christmas day for me and even then I will have only half a serving of the pie I intend to eat. I really wish I hadn't let DH talk me into getting whole pies. I don't know if it will work but I plan to take out the pie I want that day and let it thaw enough to cut the small piece I want and then put it back into the freezer. Edward's pies have a plastic top on them so I think I can replace the lid and put back in the box and freeze it until we want another slice. I wanted to buy the ones that has only 2 slices in the package but DH said the whole pie was cheaper. We will see how that goes.

I had sl turkey bacon, 2 scrambled eggs, a slice of toast and 1/2 grapefruit for breakfast. We will have tilapia and corn on the cob and I will have a keto ice cream cone. I just can't eat the salad any more as it seems to be messing with my stomach lately. I will have a protein shakes around 7 so that I can stay within 8 hr eating window. Calories for today will be 1106, total carbs 89 - 15 g fiber leaves 74 g net carbs. This way I also get 90 g protein. I think the fact that my protein has been too low might be why I've been gaining.

Our temps are in the 50s this week with low tonight 29. Then on 23rd, we will go lower and have low of 18 that night. So winter is even coming to TX now.

Have a nice day everyone and stay warm and safe.

My dinner was good. The meat was soft but I think I cooked it a little longer than necessary but it wasn't overcooked. I finally got my mashed potatoes and I had mixed vegetables.

I am at 972 calories and 102 carbs. I am full so I don't think I will eat more today. This is the first full meal I've had since we went to Texas Roadhouse.

We got a coupon for 15% off at Texas Roadhouse to be used by year end. I don't know if it's off one meal or the entire check. That seems to be our favorite restaurant.

Trish, I have a suggestion since this pie is something you especially like, You could skip your first meal or just have something small and fit the pie into your total calories for the day.

I had a little bump up on the scale today to 176.6. I'm not surprised because my eating was up yesterday. I feel better that I'm getting my calories in and I'm not starving myself, but I want these losses to continue.

It's still very cold here and our streets are covered with snow. Not a car in sight. Its only a couple inches but this is the first measurable snow for us this season. Since its Sunday, most people are off today and it looks like they all chose to stay home. It really looks like Christmas. I like seeing the snow but not the cold!

I wanted sauteed mushrooms with my eggs today but we ran out. They are very tasty and healthy. I will have to buy more when I go to Walmart. I have canned mushrooms on hand all the time but I only use them in a recipe. When I have them with eggs I only like fresh.

Last night I took a magnesium at bedtime. I haven't taken any supplements since I got sick because I don't know what effect they will have. I will not take magnesium every night but a,few nights a week. I slept very well. I haven't been using my CPap recently because it blows cold air into my nose. I have a heated hose so I don't understand why the air is cold. I seem to sleep better without it.

Carol Sue the mushrooms and eggs sounds so good. In fect, I love fresh cooked mushrooms, but DH doesn't. He likes the canned. I think I will get some fresh when we go to the store this week so I can put them in my morning eggs.

I'm going back to watching my carbs and not following any specific rules doing it. I have almost 2 months to get things moving down again before we go to primary doctor for 6 months check up. Also weight was 188.6 this morning and nothing is worth gaining weight and since we aren't planning much of a Christmas type dinner for Christmas day, there is no reason why I can't do semi-low carb during the holidays. I had eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast with coffee. I will continue my salads and have one for dinner. We will have steak, mashed potatos and broccoli. My calories today are 794 with net cargs 33 g. It will also be a 2MD.

I am tracking on MFP but won't finalize anything so I can still keep up with what I'm eating each day and not worry about reacing 1000 calories. I just cannot let this weight gaining keep happening.

Have a great day.

Trish, I found out from being sick that eating over 1000 calories every day isn't necessary, but now that I'm feeling better I won't go that low every day. I feel its not necessary to eat higher calorie if I'm not burning higher calories. Food is fuel for the body and we don't need more than our body is using. The reason I have fat on my body is from eating more than I'm using. We can figure this out Trish.

There was a comment on MFP that they are getting rid of some of their features. I noticed it hasn't recorded my weight since November. If they are getting rid of features I like then MFP might not be as important to me.

My Christmas dinner will only be the baked ham and if DH wants potato salad I will make some for him. As far as I know, no one is coming. Truthfully, I don't want to cook a big meal for others. I might like a green bean casserole with the ham.

Here is an article about the health benefits of mushrooms. Ilike them but often forget to buy them.

Carol Sue, I agree with you that we don't have to eat 1000 calories to lose weight or be healthy. I remember Rachel Heller lost weight eating only OMAD. then I read on the IF group by a man who shares about his experience who said he talked to a cardiologiest who has been eating OMAD for 10 years and he said looked great and says he feel great. He seems to think that doctors are slowly beginning to look at IF because of all the health benefits of fasting.

Thanks for the article. I will look at it tomorrow as it is too late to read it tonight. I'm getting ready to go to bed as it is nearing 1 am.

I ate 2 meals within a 5 hr eating window today and ended up eating 808 calories with a net carb of 37. I will do this again tomorrow.

Scale is up today, 178.8. That's ok. I will work at getting it back down.

I think getting back to a 5 hour eating window will help you. You did well with a shorter window in the past. I know its hard because you stay up later than I do. Adding the protein shake when you got hungry at night never seemed to hurt you in the past either.

I have gotten away from eating salads lately. I don't like them at home because I don't buy all the varieties I like. They go bad before I use them all. I like them in certain restaurants but not others. I have to really be in the mood for salad. I always prefer warm food, with ice cream being the exception.

I have a list ready for Wal-Mart once DH gets up. We also have to go to the meat store for ground beef and a ham for Christmas but that will be later in the week. I'm so angry with myself because Aldi's had chicken legs for 69 cents a pound and I missed the sale. Now I will have to pay double that. I was still pretty sick that week so I didn't even look at the ads. I tell step daughter to tell me if she sees them on sale but I guess she forgot. She reads all the ads.

_________________________________________

I'm home from Wal-Mart and there's already 2 things I didn't get. I forgot frozen broccoli and cream of chicken soup. I hate when I do that. I don't know when I'll get to go back for it.

Wdeight back down 1.4 lbs to 187.2 lbs and FBG was 95. My body does so like the shorter eating window. Today I am eating OMAD because I haven't been hungry. I don't want to eat when I'm not hungry. If I need the second meal, I can always have it but don't have to. I'm more into IF/IE rather than a lot of rules.

Carol Sue, I am bad about going to the store and coming home without something I needed. I told DH that I need a chalk board in the kitchen that I can write things on as I think of it when in the kitchen. He laughed and asked if I new where I could put it? I literally have no room for much of anything in this house especially in my kitchen. Still thinking about it though.

Chicken with cream of chicken soup in the crockpot. I will have that with a bowl of lentils today for dinner. I found a lady on a keto group on FB and joined her group to learn how to cook healthier meals as well as making healthy desserts without sugar alcohols. I want to learn how to do this with lower carb but not necessarily keto. Today calories are around 800 and net carbs 39. This is good if I can keep doing it this way.

Trish, I believe that your body has always preferred the shorter eating window. I want chicken tenderloins with cream of chicken soup in the oven. I think its funny that we're having almost the same dinner. Ours is baked in the oven with hash browns on top and I grilled asparagus on the side.

There is a political special report on tv so I think I will run back to walmart. I did, and got my frozen vegetables and cream of chicken soup. We eat so much frozen broccoli I hate to not have any on hand.

I keep a small notepad on the counter in the kitchen and anytime either of us notices something we need we write it down. As I go out the door I put the note in my pocket, so I very seldom forget anything. I'm blaming this time on being sick for so long and not paying attention to running low on things.

_________________________________________

The scale will probably be up again tomorrow because my dinner was delicious. I ate more than I intended. My appetite is baaaack!!

I actually ate only one meal today. I hope the scale will be nice as a result. Tomorrow I will try to make it another OMAD.

Yay for OMAD Trish! Hope this helps the scale. It's hard for me to do OMAD.

I thought the scale would be up but it was down to 177.2, down .6. I will take it. Yesterday I talked to friends who were sick the same time I was but they were negative for Covid but positive for flu.

i woke up at 6 am, then back to sleep til 8 am, then again 10 am. I didn't want to eat right away but DH made eggs and mushrooms and I could not pass it up. I want to make some hard cooked eggs to have on hand. I don't know what we are having for dinner.
