Good morning to all
WI down a bit more so the sodium of Sunday seems to be leaving me slowly. 167.6 (Monday had huge jump to 169.8).

Todays workout you ask???? the dreaded ab's for 31 minutes no I don't know about you but that is my weakest area of all and I sure hope this 30 day strength training series I am doing will give me at least some results. Yesterday was upper body so now both my arms and legs are screaming at me WHY WHY would you do this to us

Granny as I got closer to the (back in the day last year) 150ish mark I got stuck forever at 159-162 as a matter of fact it lasted for over 8 months until I started gaining again, my gain though has been a combination of lack of exercise, not following my low carb plan as close so I have no one but me to blame. But it is so much harder the closer you get to goal.

Diana love todays devotional, it is so important to celebrate others victories.

doitforme wow congrats on the loss

Smile MARCH 2018--Down .2

Hi!

Hope EVERYONE is making more progress than me!

Jen: I also get annoyed when I type in an entry and then it gets erased. If it is a long one, I give up and leave...I have an inexpensive laptop and the mouse, etc. are not real sensitive. I will not buy the cheapest again... (This laptop will probably last forever!)

Nancy: 13,000+ steps. WOW! Good for you!

CieCie: I am still thinking about cheese. Someone once asked Jackie Kennedy how she stayed so thin. She said that she did not deprive herself of anything. She just ate really small amounts of things. Likewise, I think that is the way to handle cheese...just a taste of each kind.

I ate too many carbs yesterday. I have not been to my basic grocery stores in about a month and I am out of a lot of fruits and veggies and almond milk. Yesterday, the roads were icy and there was a sprinkling of snow. Today, there is a lot of snow. I never used to let a little ice or snow stop me from getting anywhere, but now I live on top of a ultra steep hill...I hope the roads are clear tomorrow. I need more varieties of food to eat.

I did my exercises yesterday, but no cardio. Ugh!

Good morning everone, nancylm, that sodium is sneaky.
I ate too many calories yesterday, not an excessive amount, just more than my allowed amount. I expected my weight to be up this morning but it was actually down. I have been reading about the benefits of cumin in aiding weight loss. Supposedly it helps the metabolism and help burns fat. Has anyone else read about this or tried it. I tried adding it to some of my food last week but only remembered today for this week. Apparently, they even make capsules for easier consumption.

Sodium. Ugh.

I have to return to only weighing 1 x per week. The diet-report-submission that I send everyday wants a "weight" everyday, PLUS measurements of "waist" and "hips" and "thighs". Sigh. I am FOR SURE not measuring everyday - but do like when my clothes start fitting better.

And, I thought I could handle weighing every couple of days (I don't have a scale at home - I use the scale at the gym), but it turns out it messes with my head too, too much. The swings!! Oh, the swings!!

It is a lean-protein only day for me, today. Probably chicken (without the skin) for lunch.

Monday I did 45-minutes of cardio-step. Tuesday I weight-lifted for 55 minutes and stretched for 10 minutes. Today is "rest" day. Tomorrow is yoga. Friday is lifting. Saturday is cardio-step. Sunday - please let the weather be nice enough for a walk.

Hello to you all.

Beeps, can you buy a scale? They are pretty cheap. That way you can weight nekkid first thing in the morning.

No, granny, I won't buy a scale!

I am fine using the scale at the gym. And, actually, I am at the gym 6 times per week. So, access to a scale is not my issue.

My brain cannot handle the swings of the scale. At all. It affects my entire mood.

I do graph and chart both my scale-weight, and my tape-measure-measurements....so long as I see a downward trend (which I have been in January, stall in Feb, and downward movement again in March), I can deal.

But the day-to-day stuff?? My goodness, cannot do it.

I remember back in university my bff used to step on the scale TWICE a day. And yes, it literally affected her mood ALL THE TIME.

Ok, I weighed 2 days ago and was very dissapointed. Except for 2 maintenance calorie days...I have been cutting my calories pretty low.

I was up to 201.4. However, I am only a few days away from TOM and judging by the way I stuffed chocolate in my face today (why so far over 500, )she's on her way. I usually go crazy cleaning everything the day before too. I am semi-regular, I don't skip a month unless really stressed but I rarely have the same exact day cycle. Anywho, I gain about 5 lbs before TOM comes so I try to catch that sweet spot right before ovulation to weigh....and I am due for another set of measurements.

Today, I rode my bike with my boys for about 15 minutes. Got Thomas a motorized scooter. Got Seth one too but he's so small only 32 lbs and 34"
And he would have nothing to do with the Razor, but his brother has one at his dad's and he loves it. Remember I'm trying to get them something they could ride around the hills and not be so tired. So I'm returning the 2nd Razor and already bought a Gymax scooter with adjustable handle bars and a seat as well.

He has to get the balancing part right of course.

Ok, so today was kind of productive. I went and saw my car at the shop and got a few things out of it...I let Thomas try out his scooter although it was getting cold and windy. I renewed my nursing license. I cooked Salmon and broccoli for dinner (I made the boys eat)

I need to pack up winter clothes to take to storage because we are pretty much done and build these shelves in the boys room...

Beeps, I am the same way. I'm determined not to let the scale defeat me though. Another way the scale affects me, is when it doesn't go down, I start doing something unsustainable, which makes me give up too.

Ciecie...I love how creative you are in getting in those walks

Stlr, refeeds are helpful in weight loss. Cumin? Circumin? I forget if they are the same. I think one is a derivative from Tumeric. Tumeric is anti-inflammatory and great for blood sugar regulation.

Teri, sorry about being snowed in. I wouldn't worry about a few days of a ltitle extra. Refeeds are important for long term metabolism revving.

Nancy, yeah my abs are a mess. I DREAD the lactic acid build up in my abs...but I need to try again. I used to do 200 ab exercises a day. ..this is so ridiculous. Love it when the smoke and mirrors clear and the scale reflects your hard work. I remember when I was where you were, I hope to get back someday. We have similar weight goals. You started close to where I am now

Granny, your day sounds grueling! I hope the training goes well.

Do it for me, dit to on the congratulations!

Diana, I love your devotions. Since I had such a great bounce up, the Lord asked my heart. What will you do when everyone else is losing weight but you? I am determined to BE THIS I'm HAPPY FOR YOU!!! I know how hard you worked. Thank you for reminding me of how much the heart counts.

Kleij, awesome you are in maintenance because that shows long term it works!!!

Good evening
Been quite busy the past few days. Have not posted since Monday?? Tuesday morning I was 2.2 lbs from goal. Then I sort of blew it. The previous day I had too few carbs which is not healthy for me. I could feel it in my body. So, I ate carbs. I will spare you the details. Physcally I did feel stronger after eating them. But total calories for the day were around 1800. Amazingly great tasting.

This morning the scale was up by 1.2 lbs. that's okay. The difficult thing was getting back on plan today. I prevailed. The total calories for today will be around 1150. I wish my body could handle very low carbs. I will try it again in 2 1/2 weeks. For now, it's the slow route.

i hope everyone has a great night and Thursday

Well we got the word today that our department is merging with some others and that they are, in fact, reshuffling our job titles and there will not be as many places as people currently in the department. They are also going to rearrange our jobs and we will all have to apply for the positions. Many, like me, have over 25 years with the company and only a few to go until retirement when we can get Medicare. Well, the next month or so will be bumpy then I will know whether I am gainfully employed or will have to figure out something else. I could retire now if it were not for the cost of medical insurance until we get to Medicare.
