Smile MARCH 2018--Lower!

Hi there!

I have been thinking about pets. Lost my last cat 3 years ago. He was 20 years old and the sweetest little boy. I wish I still had him. I decided that if you have a pet, you have to love them more than things...because your pets do do damage some stuff. I think about getting another. I love kittens...

Anyway, I overdid vanilla wafers yesterday. It is not good when I lose count of how much I eat. I sat with the box of cookies in the lounge chair in front of the tv. Does that sound familiar? I should have left them in the basement. But I lost weight anyway!

I did the usual house exercises and I went for a 40 minute walk. I walked up a bigger hill. In April I think I may work towards an hour walk once a week.

225/212.5/213.4/213/210 I am tired of this weight. I need to have a couple of really strict days, so I can move on (down)!

Oh! The bread I bought was sourdough, not soda bread. Have a good day!

Good morning to all!
WI the same 167.0 this is four days in a row, completed my upper body strength training last night and am a bit sore this morning. ADD woke up at 5am to an inch of snow on the ground????what is up with that? It is the end of March in WA it is spring time for goodness sake!

Anyway does not look like I will make my goal f 162 this month since I have had no downward movement at all. Today's plan light breakfast, late lunch, very light dinner. You could almost say it is like IF 16:8 which is so doable for me

back later today with personals

Good Morning, Everyone!

Last night I added on: Full Body Stretch (standing)
This Morning: Oxycise Commuter Workout

Calories for yesterday: 1535
Weigh In: 188
No Change - but I felt better this morning

Have a Blessed day!

Copied from Crosswalk Devotions for Dieters

March 24

James 4:8
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

The cake looked great. Jim waited as long as he could, then, when his wife left the room, he grabbed a small piece. Thinking he would stuff it quickly into his mouth before his wife returned, he turned quickly, and the cake fell from his hand. He reacted instinctively and snatched the falling cake. As his wife reentered, he tried to hide his cake-covered hand, but to no avail. He was caught, and there was no way to deny it. We need to stick to our diets and keep our hands clean of the foods we know we should avoid. Draw close to God and away from food. It's the best way.

Today's thought: If you cheat, you lose everything but weight!

Diana, that cake story would have ended with me eating 1/2 the cake back in the day when I comforted myself with food.

Terri, I have been there. I actually used to have mindless binges of 3000+ calories.

Nancy, I wouldn't sweat not making 162. You are doing so many positive changes. Most likely fat is being replaced by muscle and therefore you are not showing a loss, but you are still moving in the right direction. Don't let the scale beat you down
So today I woke up not even that hungry, but I had two bowls of s'mores cereal with my son. I slept, better on that mattress topper but my hands keep falling asleep and hurting....time to see Chiro again I guess.

It's chilly here but I'm going to try to get some time outside with the boys on my bike maybe...let my foot recover

So I was up 2 lbs this morning, I am hoping its because of the sodium yesterday. I had tacos. I made them with bison meat. Oh and lunch meat for lunch, I bet that's what did it. I have been within my calories and I know there are going to be fluctuations. I don't have TOM anymore but I still get the side effects like bloating ect. I haven't been walking the treadmill in between workout days though and need to get back to that. I hope everyone has a good day, I am off to complete my workout.

Good afternoon
I have bern MIA since Wednesday. It has taken that long to lose what I gained on Tuesday when I had around 1900 calories.

Today finally I am back down. It has been 1 year and 4 months since my weight was this low. And even then, it was only for one day. I am now 2 pounds from my original goal. April 15th I will travel to see relatives. If I can lose 3 lbs I think I will be able to fit into my black jeans. So that's my new goal. 3 lbs in 20 days.

I need to go to Costco today. Will go after the food carts are away for the night. Otherwise I will be a very hangry woman.

Personals, tonight.
I hope you all are having a great Saturday!

Back from my training. Quite hungry but oh well. We had a three hour class outside under a picnic shelter with temps in the 40s and I was quite cold with a long john, sweater, fleece jacket and overcoat and hat and gloves. I stood up and walked in place so much to keep warm that between that and working a fairly short problem with Beau, I am at 10,000 steps. So....before I stretch out and chill with a hot cup of tea, going to take a 1 mile loop to complete my steps!

Breakfast was typical but early, stir fried veggies and tofurkey. Lunch was a taco salad with no shell and ***drum roll*** I did not eat a single chip. And I ate some apricots when I got home. ........ I am at 1047 calories right now. So it will be a long rest of the day.

Hi again.

Not sure where I confused people thinking I had lost a pound, I'm actually way up - up higher than where I started years ago. Pretty sure it's the Zoloft so I have decreased my dose from 75mgs to 50mgs to see if that helps at all but I can't go any lower for a while. I still go to the gym 5 days a week but now I am seriously watching what I eat. I mean seriously watching. This is so frustrating that I can't even stand it anymore. This battle is life long but it is what it is. At least I'm not alone.

I booked another trip today this time Antigua but not going till March 2020. First is Barbados for sure and then either Turks and Caicos again or back to Aruba, then Antigua.

Hi Everyone!

We went to see I Could Only Imagine today. It was really good but sad at the same time. We pretty much cried the entire time. We went during the middle of the day and then took my friend to get her glasses. I thought we would be able to walk after but that didn't workout. We just ran out of time.

Novangel I don't think I welcomed you back earlier in the month.

Total Approx 1285 Calories +

Breakfast (260 calories + )

Organic Valley vanilla Fuel shake 260 calories
coffee w/cream & sugar

Lunch (400 calories)
Chick-fil-a Grilled chicken cool wrap, no cheese w/BHF's ranch 400 calories

Dinner (625 calories)
Amy's mushroom risotto 240 calories
roasted cauliflower 75 calories
chicken breast 150 calories
cottage cheese w/fruit 160

Exercise
Nothing

Novangel, I pray you find the right woe to manage your weight and depression. I pray for healing. As long as you are still fighting the battle is not lost. Wow...your trips sound exciting

Stlr, most definitely it's from sodium. I don't add salt to anything but veggies and I prefer low salt snacks but salt in Chinese food wreaks havoc on me...we go out to eat after church and I'm not skimping on our meal...but sodium will show. No Tom but still monthly symptoms????No!!! I get a migraine and pissy mood ...bloat and hunger and crave chocolate

Flower, that is awesome...please consider that it takes 3500 calories over bmr to gain 1 lb. Congratulations on being back at that low weight and so close to an original goal

Granny congrats on finishing training and good way to get in steps. I fidget and shake my legs when I am cold so I do the same. I hate being hangry.

So I had already eaten my cereal and was going to take a bath and shave my legs and decided to weigh...expecting something else...the scale said 198.6...since TOM came today, I am hoping a post TOM weight of 195. Which would be great. A new low too.

That is a new low..if I have a very heavy one like usual ..I figure 201.4-5 will be my actual weight. I'm not leaning on the scale but it's nice to see movement.I also got outside for a few minutes with the boys on their bike and scooter and me on my bike

Hi everyone

Personals starting from last to first

Jendiet Chinese food is horrible for sodium. I hope your TOM is not too difficult. Thanks for the info on how many calories it takes to make a lb. I find that high carb foods more readily add lbs with me. I can gain very easily with carbs. Not as quickly with the same amount of protein calories. And mix high carbs with high fat and those lbs can pack on quickly, lol. Maybe other people are different.

Diana what was the movie about? I cry easily. So I would likely be a mess if I saw it. loft. IDK if there is an anti-depressant out there that does not cause people to gain.

Novangel Sorry about the Zoloft. But you know you are in very good company with that dilemma. find the right anti-depressant and gain weight. great idea to cut back to the amount that still works, but hopefully will not cause the food cravings. If anyone can figure this out,it will be you.

GrannyNancy Amazing to me that it was so cold in SC. Seems you folks down there would be much warmer at the end of March. When will you hear if Beau passed the re-certification? Congrats on not having any chips.

Stlrsgrl Sorry you had that gain. Hope the water weight fairy is kind to you on Sunday

Nancylmrn I heard about the snow in Seattle. IDK where you live but under your profile pic it says Pacific NW. Wacky weather patterns all around. We had a bunch of Nor'easters.

Teri I hear ya re: the vanilla wafers. Although if I had a basement and kept cookies down there I would get exercise going up and down the stairs to get more... all day until they were gone. Have you ever watched Jackson Galaxy who does the animal planet TV show "My cat from ****"? (3fc made that asterisks instead of the H word, lol). I think he's awesome. A cat behaviorist. He is so good at solving when cats are tearing up furniture, rugs, people... or other behaviors that are problematic. I like how sensitive, loving and smart he is. He had or still has issues with food. He used to be very overweight. He talked about it once.

Doitforme Good to meet you

Ciecie you always DO amaze me with your exercise.

AmazonNM wow that is some work out you get each day. That's awesome!

Kelijpa I am so sorry to read about Hunter. my deepest condolences to DH and you

Today my trip to costco was great. I thought the food carts went away at 4pm. I got there at around 4:30. And there were food people still there. BUT the 2 carts I went to had protein. I got some salmon burger, no bun. And a piece of ham sandwich meat. Okay, to most people that might be gross. But I was hungry. And I do like Salmon. There was another food cart. But the woman who was working there was blowing her nose. So I kept walking.

Got more cards done. The new designs. One takes 40 to 45 minutes to make.... each card. The other, a half hour. Not practical. But people like them as well as the old ones, which I was getting bored making.

Today was the same for calories. rinse and repeat. Around 1150 calories. Still hooked on popchips and low cal. cocoa with stevia. But the popchips are my only source of carbs and fat. Well, that and the cocoa powder. 20 calories per Tbs.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Good Morning 184.6 new low.

I was wondering since my activity meter was not so encouraging. Maybe being cold all day paid off. I wound up eating more last night but it was 1oz uncle sams cereal and 2 oz 1% milk. It got me through the night. Wound up at 1272 calories. Also got in 12,425 steps [plus those when I take off my watch and shower LOL]

Today is planned for a stir fry for breakfast (lentil sprouts, peppers, onions, cauliflower rice), yogurt and fruit for lunch, and beef and cabbage for dinner - target - 1080 calories and no plans to walk because we have this big mulch pile to move. The high today is supposed to be 49 and it is a damp and dreary day again all day. I am not sure we will get it all moved but we have to make a serious dent in it. I will reassess calorie burn from doing that and walk to make up the difference if I need to.

Flower - the test is April 4-7. I will know in real time. It is all pass/fail and observation. Like Jen, I don't think the 1900 calories one day did you in. I think it was probably sodium and water retention which takes days to clear.
Jen - congrats on the new low!!!! I truly also appreciate your grounding influence here though I still wonder how you can be so grounded with all going on in your life!
Novangel - I took antidepressants about 20 years ago and remember Wellbutrin was supposed to be good at appetite suppression and weight loss as well. Yes, our weight struggle will be a life long thing but the alternative is worse. I agree, the trips sound reallly neat!

Good Morning, Everyone!

Last week I did thyroid labs and this week I have an apt. with the Endo about my thyroid. I saw her last in December. I really thought I would have made some type of progress since then, but I haven't. I do realize that I starting consuming more of the "healthy" things and I had eliminated and my face about blew up. Then a few weeks ago I figured out what that problem was. So I see that I have made improvements in my healthy and life but not weight. The Dr. did tell me that with the increase in meds, she still didn't think it would be any easier to lose weight. In my mind, I thought she was wrong. But I guess she was right. I have had a lot going on with year end stuff and taxes, etc. So all of that will be finished this week. I have not been able to do longer workouts due to time constraints. Most of the time they have been ranging from 15-30 minutes. Back, when I was losing, I was working out from 45-60 minutes. I also read a study years ago, about people who lost a significant amount of weight, like me, usually have to workout for an hour to lose and keep the weight off. So, now that I should have a bit more time on my hands, I am going to focus on longer workouts. I am interested in what my thyroid labs say, too.

Nothing for last night
This Morning: Oxycise Level 2 workout, in bed

Calories for yesterday: 1285 +
Weigh In: 187.6
Down: .4

Have a Blessed day!

Copied from Crosswalk Devotions for Dieters

March 25

Exodus 33:14
And he said, 'My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.'

The most effective diets are those with planned 'cheating' in them. Just as the children of Israel set aside a day for fasting from their daily bread, Christian dieters should set aside a day to indulge in the foods they enjoy. This makes the dieter more thankful for the special treats, as well as making the diet much more tolerable. It gives us something to look forward to, and it erases guilt from the process. We all need rest, and we will find new strength and courage when we break our diet fast occasionally.

Today's thought: Even dieters deserve a day off.
