Harleymom - so sorry about your uncle....your DH will be in our thought next week!

Jill - what is zero point soup? I am envisioning broth with low cal veggies?

The scooter rally was pretty fun - here's proof!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Default Zero Point Soup

Hi Chicks! Happy Weekend!

I hope everyone gets to ride this weekend Gina...I love your ScootPic!

Zero-Point Soup is just that...broth & veggies. Great to have on hand to snack on...keeps me out of the bad stuff

Here's how I make it, altho it's a little different each time. Just use what's in your 'fridge!

2 medium cloves of garlic, minced
2 medium carrots, diced
1 medium red or green pepper, diced
Lots of celery, diced
Lots of red or green cabbage, chopped or shredded
Small florets of cauliflower & broccoli
Zuchinni or yellow squash, chopped (if you have it)

Place veggies in large soup pot with about 6 cups of vegetable or chicken broth. (I like the chix broth better)

Season with:
2 tsp of thyme
1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)

Bring broth & veggies to a boil, then cover and simmer until everything is tender & tasty.

Have some fun this weekend, Chicks....and be safe!

Hi ladies!

HarleyMom- I am so sorry to hear about your uncle...and I will keep you and your dh in my thoughts this week.

Jill- That soup sounds pretty yummy! Thanks for the recipe!

Hi Stella and Gina...hope you girls had a great weekend.

Well, the gerd is so much better, but I am finding that there are several things that I just can't eat anymore. So, I bought a notebook to start tracking my foods. I think it will help with the gerd and losing weight.

We finally got our bike back, but it's not totally fixed. My husband has to do the repairs himself. So, we did go on the toy run yesterday. It was a gorgeous day to ride! Oh, and we put floor boards on the passenger seat. I LOVE them!

Have a great day ladies!

Hey Reb...glad to hear your bike and GERD are both better. If you're interested in logging in your food intake online...here's a great place to do it! http://www.journaltosuccess.com/jour...cgi?db=journal

I love to plan (and track) what I've eaten here....but better yet what I'm GOING to eat! here. Helps me stick with it.

Andrea - Fitday is pretty handy for logging what you eat as well...I really think it is key to keeping me in line. When I stop logging is when I start gaining...I've resigned myself to having to possibly keep logging the rest of my life. You would think I would be able to do it in my head after a while....but I ain't there yet. Glad your GERD is better!!

Jill - Zero point soup...gonna have to do that. Sounds like a good job for the crock pot. It's starting to cool off over here....soup sounds pretty good!

I'm still riding every day - DH is fixing my windshield. That should warm me up quite a bit. It's big and dorky looking but sooooooooooo much warmer. And if it rains a little, no biggie!

Good afternoon chickies!

Jill- Thanks for that website. I'll have to check that out.

Gina- I think that logging has a lot to do with long term success. I use fitday, but for some reason I'm not religious about using it. I've even tons of my custom foods, but I forget to use it. Laziness, I guess.

It's cool, rainy and dreary here today. I wonder if HarleyMom is seeing any snow in her neck of the woods.

I was just thinking the other day about Star (Trina) I really hope that she is doing ok. Holly, too.

Well, have a great Tuesday! Enjoy that FL sun and warmth for us, Jill!!

Yes...doesn't she look awesome!!!?

I like FitDay too, but the reason I switched to JournalToSuccess is because I can keep track of my points there.

It's a gorgeous, MILD, dry day here in Central FLA. We rode yesterday, hooked our little pull-behind trailer to our bike and rode over to BJ's Club and filled it up! Nice ride along some country roads...and we got a big errand done. Then we rode the other direction to Carrabba's Italian Restaurant and TaaaaDah....I stayed On Plan. Yay Me!

Today our plan is to get out on our boat (it's too darn hot to use it in the summer).....and get some sun for our upcoming cruise. It's our "weekend" since HH will be working on Sat and Sun.

More great news....our riding friends will return from their summer up north and we just can't wait til they get here! Let the road trips begin!!!

Go Jill, Go Jill!!!! YAY!!!

Ok, ladies... I just had to tell you about this tonight! I fell in love today. Seriously fell head over heels. We went browsing at bike shop today mostly looking for a bike for my possibly wanting to ride a motorcycle dad and I met her...a gorgeously stunning Suzuki Burgman 650. Ahhhhh...wow! I REALLY want it. I never thought that I'd go for a scooter, but it's beautiful, would keep up with the big bikers, and I wouldn't have to shift or worry about killing it. I'm gonna do some research and seriously give this a thought...

So...Gina, please tell me all about your scooter again. Pros/cons.

Anyhow, I just had to share with you ladies! I knew you'd all understand!!

How can you say no to true love? I like scooters 'cause you can carry groceries if you need to. Ok - maybe the melon I got on Friday wasn't such a hot idea...but what can I say? We were out of watermelon...they were on sale... For me, it's a little less scary than a motorcycle because you can get off more easily. God forbid you need to. I think you will thoroughly enjoy your own bike. Way better than riding bit...err...pillion.

Jill - WTG girl!!!

Harleymom- hope all is well with DH and his surgery.
