WTG Jill!!!
I'm in maintenance mode apparently....I'm working out like a fiend....and then eating way too much. Oh well...it beats gaining. Gotta go - not s'posed to be posting from work..
Congrats Jill. You want me to put a fire on my as* and get this last 25 lbs off. I am sick of having this weight stick with me. My son is getting married in May and I want it to be gone!
Reb, Gina great to here from you.
Well Chicks have a great rest of the day. I am working on payroll I will catch you later.
Congrats Jill on losing the 2 pounds and for starting Weight Watchers!
Harley and Gina- You girls are so close to your goals! You really help motivate me to not give up!
Ok, chicks, I need some suggestions. I am really trying to watch my fat and calorie levels, but I notice that I'm STARVING within a few hours after lunch. What are some filling snack foods that work for you? Today I had a smoothie made with soy protein, yogurt, little milk, and strawberries for breakfast. For lunch I had tuna salad made with miracle whip lite, relish, and a little mustard along with 5 whole grain crackers and applesauce made with Splenda. I was very satisfied until about 3:30...then I became a bottomless pit. Any ideas of filling snacks for those times?
My dress is done for the wedding. I just now need to find shoes, jewelry, and figure out how I'll do my hair.
Did I ever tell you girls that I had been having horrid, almost crippling pain on the bottom of my foot? Well, I went to the Dr and she said it is plantar fascitis. I thought it was a heel spur. Either way she said it could take months to improve and up to a year to be healed. So, I'm kinda limping, wearing special shoe inserts, supposed to be doing certain exercises and taking pain/inflammation meds. She wants me to continue exercising, though. Which is hard because it's painful while I exercise and it awful after I exercise. I could barely get out of bed this morning after walking last night. It's so frustrating!
Well, I hope that you all have a great Thursday! Later chicks!
Reb Ouch, foot pain is horriable. Try low impact things for excersise. You don't want to put to much stress on your feet. I also get really hungry right about 3:30 to 4:30 ish. Make sure your drinking plenty of water, that seems to help, sometimes. Stay away from processed foods as much as possiable for snacks and keep it within 100 to 150 calories. Fresh fruits, raw vege's, nuts (not to much), yogurt (I love the fruit and yogurt from McD's), v-8, I don't know what else but don't let yourself go without eating something when you feel that way. I think it causes you to eat things you shouldn't if you don't eat something when you feel that way. I find eating smaller amounts throughout the day helps curb the hungry feeling.
Oh Reb! Having you feet hurt is so awful! We're feeling your pain, Girl! Hope you're going to feel better soon. Kudos to you for keepin' on keepin' on.
Hey! When's that wedding date???
HarleyMom gave us both some great snack ideas, Thank, HM! I'm liking this WeightWatchers....nice to be able to eat potatoes & bread. Am being religious about the journaling. First time I've ever logged all my food intake. It's kinda like a job, but seems like it will get easier once I figure out everything that I usually eat.
Good News for me tho....I lost another 1.5 pounds! Down to 177.5! WOW! I'm soooo psyched!
Headed to Cocoa Beach on our HOG tomorrow morning...weather will be dry and nice! Fall is almost upon us. We'll be spending the night, going out on the gambling boat in the evening then shopping for our cruise & headed for the beach during the day. Should be fun and a great ride. Lucky for me, the gal we're going with is also doing WeightWatchers, so eating right will be easier for me.
Jill- The wedding date is the 23rd of September. Almost a week away! Oye!!! Have fun in Cocoa Beach...sounds like a blast! Congratulations on the weight loss!!!! I'm so excited for you!
Harley- Thanks for the snack ideas. That is so helpful of you.
My weekend plans are nonexistant. LOL. I think this is one weekend when we have NOTHING planned. Next weekend will be the rehearsal and dinner, getting last minute things ready and then the wedding! I'm not quite ready. I'm even a little nervous and I'm not the one getting hitched. Hahaha!!
Reb - watermelon....if it's still in season in KS...I've been eating quite a lot of it lately. I get filled up and get my water in all at the same time. I'm going to have to find something else in the winter - I drink a lot of herb tea to keep warm...if I want something salty (these aren't unprocessed by any stretch of the imagination) the snack sized 100 cal popcorns are great, I also like Quakes, they come in quite a few flavors. They are like rice cakes but made of corn...I hope you find a way to lessen the foot pain and still get a workout in, maybe bicycling? Walking shorter amounts? I had something wrong with one of my feet a while back, prolly not as serious as what you've got going on..but it went away when I started walking in birkenstocks.
Jill - holy crap girl - you are just wasting away! CONGRATS!! Logging everything you eat is like work...but it gets easier with practice.
Harleymom - May is a good time frame for a date to shoot for - you go, girl!
DH is out in the garage trying to put his wheels back on his bike...he has a Suzuki GS650 that has been collecting dust for quite some time. He got new tires...registered it, insured it...and he is ready to ride if he figures out how to get the tires back on. We'll see if we go for a ride this weekend.
Hey Gina! Great snack ideas! Thanks to you and HarleyMom for keeping our tummies from making us do something baaaaaad
Hope your DH gets the dust off his bike and ya'll GET OUT THERE this weekend. We're leaving for Cocoa in a little while....should be a wonderful weather weekend for our ride. Love that place! Cocoa Pier, RonJon Surf Shop...it's a really cool beach-side town
Reb....Hope we get to see some pics of you in that wedding!
Have a great weekend, Chicks...and be careful out there
Jill I love Cocoa Beach! Hope you had a great time.
It got cold here this weekend. DH and I headed for the mountains yesterday to view the change of colors in the Aspen trees. Not quite there yet. Lots of yellows but no orange or red yet. Dang, I guess I have to go again in a week or so. It has snowed here already on Saturday, not in Denver just in the mountains. It is coming soon though. I can feel it.
Reb have a great day on Saturday, it should be fun. Hopefully nothing crazy will happen. Sometimes weddings can get out of hand with things but I haven't been to too crazy of one this summer.
Gina Watermelon yummy! I haven't had much this summer and that sounds really good.
I hope you all have a great Monday, Keep on Keep'n on Chicks!
Just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone. Also, have a fabulous weekend! This weekend is the wedding, so I will be pretty busy helping my little brother with final touches. Their wedding is Saturday evening and tomorrow is the rehearsal and dinner at my parents, so we'll spend tomorrow cooking yummy Mexican food!
Have a great weekend everyone! Wish us all well and that there will be no major disasters for the wedding!
Have a great time Reb! Have a nice weekend all. I am out for most of the day Friday. My DH has an eye thing going on. If they don't get it figured out they may have to remove his right eye.
So how difficult is the MSF course, really? I'm looking at taking it in January, because my dad's a motorcycle enthusiast and really believes everyone should ride one...and to make good on that, he's told me that if I take the course and pass it, he'll buy me a motorcycle. So I'm wondering how the class is. Anyone who's taken it can tell me?
Not much planned for the weekend here. Jackie Greene show tomorrow night...other than that..yard work and housecleaning.
Nikaia - sorry - I never took the class. I do know that passing the riding test wasn't that easy. I already told this story but I passed the test back in 1985 when I first started riding. Sometime between then and recently when I renewed my license the M class was not renewed. I ended up retaking the test (written was easy enough) I failed the riding test the first time, and I've been riding for a looonnnggg time....the same scooter. Given, the clutch needed to be adjusted - but it was quite embarassing. I did pass it the second time, but I practiced in between.
I think the class is a good idea! I think all drivers should have to have some kind of awareness training for motorcycles even if they are just driving a car. It's pretty scary sometimes....think big SUV with mom at the wheel, on the phone, with the kids bouncing around like ping pong balls all over the place...kinda hard to pay attention to the road.
