  • HI!!!!

how sweet is it that I finally get to come here, and there I see Rebel wondering how I am...thank you!!

After an up and down summer, I'm ready to buckle down. I have gained...don't know how much, afraid to weight! but my clothes are tight and I can see the jiggles that have appeared, 'cause I got WAY away from my exercise for months.

BUT I am ready to get my life back the way it needs to.

I will check back soon to read up what I've missed from my dear friends here but I need to do a Gilad tape first be back soon!!!

    love
    Holly

p.s. - 12,910 miles on my bike since April
  • HOLLY!!!! YAY! You're BACK!!!

WoooooEEEEEE 12,000 miles since April....no wonder you didn't have time to post! You win the Chicks on Bikes Iron Butt!

Glad you're here and ready to get with it again, we've missed you. I'm finally back on track with a WeightWatcher-like plan and am still losing, slowly but surely. I still just need a big kick in the butt when it comes to exercise.

Hope everyone's having a good week....HH was off yesterday and we rode to lunch (I stayed on-plan) and today we're going to ride up to the Harley consignment shop and get rid of some stuff we don't need, like a couple of helmets (we got some new carbon-kevlars) and a leather vest that's now waaaaay too big!

    Later, Chicks!
  • Hey all. Can you all say long weekend. DH got through the surgery OK. He has been very grouchy. Can not take the pain meds as they make his stomach upset. I am tried but glad to be back at work. Everything went well but it took 3.5 hours for surgery that was expected to take 2 hours. The doc said it was the hardest one she has done like this. Hopefully he will not get a detached retna. It seems to be healing though. He has followup on Friday.

Congrats on weight loss Jill! Nice to here from you Holly! Reb sounds like you might me getting 2 wheels! Gina and everyone thanks for the well wishes. Take care gals and keep on keep'n on!
  • Hi ladies!

Holly- Soooo glad to see that you're back! I second Jill's vote for you getting the Iron Butt award.

Jill- You are really doing great sticking to your plan! Good job, chicky!

Harley- I am so glad that your husband went through the surgery ok.

Gina- Great advice on the scoot!

So, I've still been dreaming of the Burgman. But I also came to a huge kick-butt decision for myself. I am going to get my permit this week. I have been putting off the MSF class, permit, and tagging my bike b/c I have told myself that I need to lose weight before I do it. I think that is really silly. It doesn't matter how much I weigh. I enjoy riding and riding my own is something I want to give a try. So, I've been studying for my permit and I will tag my Rebel this week (it's insured already) and sign up for the MSF course for next April. I really want to give it a shot. My poor Rebel is so ugly, though. Needs some cosmetic work done. I want to get a nice paint job for it and either chrome or polish all the metal. A lot of it is rusted. My husband wants to look into buying the Burgman, but the sensible part of me (Lord, I hate that sensible girl!!lol) says to give it a year or 2 and pay off a few more bills. I guess it wouldn't hurt to see what kind of financing they have... I knew I'd talk myself into it!

    Later, chicks!
  • Holy Hot Pipes - You all are still here - Way to go chicks!
Well I just wanted to see if I could still access this site. I've been bad, after two surgeries, weight gain, blah, blah, blah.....
On a positive note, I did join and start going to the gym again just last Saturday.. I love the place, it's all new, state of the art with huge tv's (throw in some good looking/great shape guys in there & who wouldn't want to go)...lol
I have six grandbabies now, they just keep coming...they are five years to 5 months. Three are riding dirt bikes (two are girls).
I couldn't get the Star username, cuz my email address has changed, so Starlynn will have to do.
Oh, boo - I sold my Harley. Sold it to a chick, her husband is a Detroit ploiceman he had a Wideglide, she ended up having the nicer bike, she loves it.
I'll try and come back after a while, I have to run to the bank for work.
    Hugs.....
  • Holy hot pipes yourself, Star!! Good to see you and Holly posting! Feels like an early Xmas.. Where better than here to come to buckle down again and refocus! Sorry you had to sell your bike....but hella it went to a chick!

Harleymom - so glad DH got thru his surgery ok...OUCH on the no pain meds.... Hope his recovery is speedy!

Jill - they have consignment shops for biker stuff? I'm gonna have to look around for one of those. I've been meaning to check craigslist for a helmet...but I'm lazy.

Andrea - whichever way you go - fixing up the Rebel or getting a new bike...it's time for you to start riding. It's too much fun to be passing up!

I was thinking when I saw Star and Holly back after many moons...I wonder if I'm still babbling about the same stuff as the last time they were here....prolly so. Well I guess that's why they call it a change for a lifetime... I'm still pretty consistent with my workouts - not so OP with eating. Thank goodness for Spin class - at least I'm burning off the extra calories! Well...most of them...I had to put a couple pounds back on my ticker this week. Ah well...they'll go away again....
  • Gina - I checked out your pictures. WOW you are half the chick you use to be and YOU look GREAT! I love your avatar picture "chick with attitude!"
yeah, your sounding the same as long ago, very fun and positive! The only way to live life, right?
Hum, I'll have to remember how to use those little icons, if I remember correctly I use to LOVE all of those little guys.....lol
Hubby still has his Electroglide, plenty of room for me on there. Actually he has slowed down on his riding too. I'm sure it's just a phase we're going thru...lol (old-age).
Dang, my boss (evil face) is calling me.....I hate it when that happens..
  • 'Sup with these boss types who think just 'cause you are on the clock you should be working?
  • What the heck.....
My boss is not taking into consideration that I'm trying to have a reunion day here He is gonna force me into a

Does rebelridergirl post on here everyday

It snowed here last week, can you believe that crap Today it just rained all day, that's much better. Sometimes I don't remember why I moved back to Michigan. Oh - I think it was becuz of family

Just saw some of the new icons, this must be Aphil -
  • Yeah TRINA!!!!! Goodness lady! I have missed you!!! I am so glad that both you and Holly have come back to our little biker gang here. Hehe. I may cry tears of joy...
So, Trina, are you feeling better? I sure hope so. I know what you mean about refocusing. I'm in the same position with weight gain...ughh. Glad to see you back!

Gina- I think I am prolly talking about the same old things that I was awhile back, too. LOL. Hey, can't fault us for being consistent, right?!

All I can say is Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!!!!!!!!
  • Hey Holly - how was your Gilad workout? I googled it - it looks interesting...anything in Hawaii must be good. As long as there are no more earthquakes.

Good grief, SNOW? I'm still riding over here...but I did just put my windshield back on. I might be up in the 12000 mile range for the year, too....can't really tell because my speedo cable has been on back order for like 3 months.
  • WOW - How great is it to have STAR back??!!!! and how serendipitous (fifty-cent word!!) on the same day I came back!

Gina, my Gilad workout was good. My *ss feels it today! I don't know why I like him so much, he's just very direct and kinda boot-camp-y and he really knows his stuff. I dont' do the TV shows anymore, they have too many commercial interruptions, but I have about a dozen of his tapes. Any of them are great.

Your before/after pics - DAMN! You're really the second from right in the black shirt?? Besides loosing so much weight and toning up mightily, you also lost about 20 years I think

Star - congrats on the grandbabies! and I don't know about the surgeries, but I hope they fixed what ever needed fixing sorry to hear of not having your bike anymore...i bet you miss her.

HarleyMom - your husband's surgery must have been scary for all of you. I send him my best wishes for a quick recovery! and strength to you for holding it all together for your family.

Rebel - congrats on your decision! of getting your permit, etc. I need to google the Burgman to see what you're drooling over At first I was thinking that you wouldn'tbe able to keep up with your husband, but with 650 cc, that should'nt be a problem!

Jill - HI!!!! I really have missed everyone. way to go on being so on-track with your food. I read of you getting your boat ready now, 'cause it's too hot in the summer in Florida to do it then...!!! What a difference from Vermont.

Motorcycle consignment shops - what a great idea!! wish there was one around here. The money that all of us could spend just on gear!

For my personal info, I'll share that I'm still on the antidepressants; it's almost been a year for that. They have helped ALOT, but I still get bad days. I wonder if I'm able to be totally free of them, but I really don't want to have to play around for weeks/months with new meds. I don't know.

The big thing was that husband and I needed to reconnect. We have; and each day has been better and better. I am so thankful that we are able to work things out and love each other more than ever.

So...I've been "good" for two days now Monday was my starting point to get ahold of myself. I'm now on my winter schedule of working 11 am to 6 or 7 pm, so I can get up early do be on the computer (YAY! with broadband now!!) and have my coffee/breakfast (yogurt/oatmeal) then work out for an hour, do some around-the-house stuff then get ready for work. I LOVE getting the exercise done in the morning.

Now I have NO excuse not to exercise at least 5X a week, maybe more. Man, it was the exercise that kept me in shape for the past couple of years, it allowed me to eat pretty freely. When the exercise stopped, I lost my firm tummy and my thighs/hips are showing it. And my arms. Blah!! but I feel good about getting back to where I was, maybe even more

Let me see if I can attach a pic from a little biking get together from early July...we were having a bike rodeo on the field, I almost won the plank ride, woohoo

  • Holy Hot Pipes, Holly (sorry I stole your saying Star) are you the scantily clad hottie in the pic ?!?! WOW! I would give almost anything to be the hot chick on a bike. You look great!

I also agree on how fantastic Gina looks! Yet another smokin' hot biker chick!!

You ladies make me want to improve myself. You're ALL such great inspiration!
  • Short note
Quote: Yeah TRINA!!!!! Goodness lady! I have missed you!!! I am so glad that both you and Holly have come back to our little biker gang here. Hehe. I may cry tears of joy...

Hi Reb - it is good to talk to you all again....and yes, you are talking about the same things, bikes, getting your MC endorsement and fixing your bike...lol But that's ok, atleast you haven't changed for the worse...lol
hey how is your better half doing these days?

Holly - Is that a new bike? What is it? You sure did look good in that picture!

Have to run to lunch and do some more 'work' On a bright note (and kinda scary) dear husband is talking about taking the buyout at work and that means we would retire.......not sure I'm ready

    I'll check back later.....
  • I owe it to working out....I'm pretty proud of myself for being consistent with going to the gym. If I could just stop eating everything in sight I might really get to goal. I stocked up on sugar free candy...I think I have an oral fixation that got worse when I quit smoking. Given, that was years ago....but I can find excuses with the best of 'em!

Holly- you should be in a commercial - you could sell some bikes looking like that! I almost want one of those bikes so I can look like that, too! Glad to hear the meds are helping, WTG in keeping that marriage together!! I'm so happy for you! It's a hella lotta work.

Star - retirement...you gonna start cruisin? Jill could give some tips!! JK!
