  • Hey chickies!!

I just got back last night - so I'm trying to catch up at work today. Uggg....

Gained 2 pounds - not changing my ticker unless it sticks for a few days. I'm calling it water weight for now

Had a really nice trip - don't wanna fly on any more airplanes for a while tho....what a hassle. I didn't work out except forwalking, didn't log my food, so I'm figuring 2 pounds ain't bad. Back to spin class tonight!

My sisters are coming in tomorrow - dunno how much time I'll have to post this week, but I wanted to check in.

Hope everyone had a happy Xmas!
  • Hello all,

I'm back!! Husband has been home for 3 months and I have not only jumped off the wagon, I am lying in the ditch bleeding from the fall. I bought a new scale recently, and I HATE it. It shows about 20 heavier than my old one. I wanna cry. According to the new scale, I gained 30lbs in the last 3 months, soooo...take the 20lbs difference between the scales off and I probably gained about 10. I am wondering what my actual starting weight was then?? I don't know. My 16s still fit, regular 16 not 16w (I actually have been buying clothes at the "regular" womens stores. NOT PLUS SIZE!!!

So, hubby and I are starting the typical New Years Resolution. Get the pounds off!! Of course it will be easier for him, damn MEN, he can drop weight like nothing. But since I am back ON the wagon, I thought I needed this board again to keep me going.
  • Hey everyone!

I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year.

I'm just ready to get the weight loss going again!

I've been on vacation for the past week and a half and tomorrow it's back to work. I'm sure that will help with making my schedule normal again. Today was a great on-plan day...now I just need to focus on getting more of them in!

    Have a good one, chicks!

  • I think I've just about stayed the same over Christmas - I'm not checking for a while Mr TOM is here

I've just checked my finances and it seems I have a nice wodge for a new baby! I'm going to get a Honda Deuville and spray-paint it bright pink! I can legally ride a bigger bike on Jan 28th, so I might have a bit more wodge by then! I'm checking out the listings right now! There's a bike show on that weekend just round the corner from me so I might try and sell my bike there first
  • Helllooooo Chickies!

Glad to see everyone is starting to check back in and get serious (again!) with this fatty fat fat thing!

Tiff.....WE MISSED YOU! Glad you're here and ready to get serious. Me too. Let's get it started! We'll help you heal that bleeding that occured when you fell off the wagon

2Frus....a new pink baby??? WOW, Girl....you are definitely off to a great start for '07! Congrats! Can't wait for pics once you decide which one you're going to get!

Hey Reb....ready to get going again? I gained a few over my holiday eating (and drinking) binge. It was U-G-L-Y. I'm so ready to get back on the wagon.

Hi Gina and Holly! I'm ready to work off those Christmas cookies....and chocolate martini's. I treated myself to a couple of double cheese burgers too...

    How's everyone else? Sabrina? HarleyMom?
Let's start kickin' some fatty a$$!!!! I'm going to start logging my food today, so that means I'm really serious. I even put my Pilates DVD in the DVD player. Feels pretty darn good. Now if I can just push "play" and get on with it!! Only 65 days til we cruise to the Panama Canal...so it's crunch time for me again.

    Have a great day, ya'll....
  • Today and yesterday were both pretty much OP - workouts and food! Wonders will never cease! The gym was chock fulla newbies - it's good to see them, even better when they hang around past January.. . They got some new machines- I'll have to figure out how they work. I think everyone else was thinking the same....they weren't getting much use yet.

Hey Reb you are at 666 posts....matches your cute lil avatar.

2Fru - woo hoo new bike shopping!! What fun! I did a double take when you said you were ready for a baby....I thought marriage had gotten to you for a minute there.

Jill - too funny....yeah, there is a certain amount of extra effort involved in pushing play and getting on with it. But doesn't it feel so good when you are done?

Holly - you rock those workouts, girl!! Burn off the cookies!

Tiff - welcome back!!! Good to hear from you...now if we can find Stella...

    Sabrina - to you, too!!
  • Hey all, long time no see

These last few months have been the worst time in my life and I have to get my **** back together. One of the big areas is my fitness. I've started to eat better and Saturday I'm going to start to exercise. So count me back in!

I've been accepted into the MSF instructor training program, which I will start in March, but I may be giving up my street bike and sticking to the dirt... we'll see about that. I don't want to, it just may happen.

I got a new stress-free job that I started today and seems to be a great fit.

So most things are getting back to a more normal schedule and I hope to see some changes in me soon.

    Kathy
  • Hello all, and Happy New Year!

I got a great bike gift for Christmas, a Cobra Light Bar. I hope it won't be too difficult for dh to attach it; it comes with turn signals but I already have the modified Kuryakyn bullet LED indicators...we'll see, we have to wait for warmer weather to work on the bikes.

also received some great motorcycling books - "Proficient Motorcycling" and "Street Strategies" by David Hough, and two others. Lots of good reading.

Hello Tiff and Karen! good to hear from you! Karen, I'm so sorry to hear that you've had a tough time lately. I really hope things get better for you!

Chicks, I'm so out-of-control with my eating! My will power is gone. I try so hard to keep my goals (and time-frame) in mind, then it just goes. I don't know what to do. When I start doing badly, I tend to drift away from here, 'cause I'm ashamed of myself. but I always feel better and a little more inspired and encouraged after posting here, so here I am.

Sorry for my whining I already feel a little better after dumping my woes on you

    gonna exercise now
  • Kathy! so good to see you back!!! Sorry to hear that things have been rough lately, but glad that you are here, I hope you really enjoy your new job.

Holly- Your Christmas presents sound fabulous. I have a few books by David Hough. I think "Proficient Motorcycling" and another that I forgot the title of. Enjoy your reading!

Gina- Good job getting back to the gym. You're right, 2 pounds isn't bad at all! Glad that your trip went well. Have fun with your sisters!!

    Tiff- Hey there! Welcome back!

2frus- I LOVE PINK !!!!! What a great idea. Have fun shopping.

Jill- I am totally ready to get rid of this fatty fat!! I hear ya about falling off the wagon, but I expected it and allowed it.

I gained 5 pounds over my break, but I think that I pretty much have lost it this week. My weight has just been on the uprise since October really, but I still tried. I just wasn't too determined. At one point during vacation I just told Dh that I couldn't wait to start back up again. I was and have miserable for awhile. It feels good to be working towards a goal again.

    Well, chickies remeber the magic

We're all gonna kick butt this year!!
  • 'Morning Chickies!

Just a quick note before we RIDE! Headed south to Lake Wales, FL to meet our south Florida friends. Then we'll all ride back here for a weekend of riding. YAY! Looks like showers in the PM, but should be nice. Cloudy and 82.

I'm still not back on the wagon...I think I'm in my "transition week". It's so darn hard to just quit cold turkey, isn't it!

Hi Holly! Hi Reb! Hi Kathy! Hi Gina! Sounds like we've all had some little set-backs, but I know with each other's help we'll get back to getting it off. This IS the place to dump our woes...isn't it fun (and great!) that we have it!

Get this girls....(I live in a "retirement" community with lots of stuff to do)...anyway, I just found out that there is a TaiChi class on Tuesday & Thursday mornings and a yoga class on Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings! Dare I commit to getting my fat a$$ up there to do it??? We also have a full gym that I've never even set foot in!!! And it's FREEEEEE!!!! OMG...I can't believe what a lazy wench I am. All I have to do is jump on my golf cart and get my fatt butt up to the clubhouse and I don't do it. HELP ME, Chicks!!!
  • Quote: All I have to do is jump on my golf cart and get my butt up to the clubhouse and I don't do it. HELP ME, Chicks!!!
I hope that golf cart is tricked out with Samsons, a beach bar and spinners Seriously, I wish I could go to that gym with you, Jill!! Just try it once and see how it goes.

and instead of me endlessly saying "lucky you" for riding in the winter, I should just congratulate you and your dh for living in the right place

Hi to everyone else! Rebel, Gina, 2frus (I also thought you meant a 'flesh and blood' baby! ) Kathy and Tiff. Harleymom, I hope you're not buried by all that snow!

I just did the long version of a step aerobics tape with hand held weights (and ankle weights - oof!) and then a quick Gilad abs-only tape. Then I had my breakfast of real oatmeal (it ain't that bad) with a cut up apple, and small cup of Dannon Light and Fit yogurt (small cups, 6 oz., but only 60 calories).

    have a great day, bikerchicks
  • Yipppeee!
9 pounds Gone this week!! I have to keep this up...

Jill- Your retirement community sounds awesome! What a wonderful place to live.

Holly- Good job for your exercise commitment! Oatmeal sounds soooo yummy right now.

    Have a great weekend, babes!!!
  • It that enough smilies to celebrate NINE POUNDS??? You go, Andrea!!!

Holly - oatmeal is great!! My current fav way to eat it is nuked with splenda, cinnamon and peaches. I'm only bummed because I bought a huge can of the 1 minute version...I like the 3 minute stuff better. I'll get thru it soon enuf, tho.

Jill - give the gym a try....ya might find something you like?

Kathy - back!!! Sounds like you were due for a new job - hope it remains stress free. Good going getting accepted to the trainer program! Exercise will help with the stress levels, too.

Went on a beautiful bicycle ride today - it was a little chilly at first. But once you get going... The sun was shining, anyway...more riding planned tomorrow. I hit the gym for some weight training as well, I've been kinda slacking on the weight training lately. Feeling kinda fluffy. Time to shape up.

I took the scooter out last weekend, maybe tomorrow again if there's time. Wouldn't want the scooter jealous of the bike.
  • Quote: I took the scooter out last weekend, maybe tomorrow again if there's time. Wouldn't want the scooter jealous of the bike.
LOL! yay to you for the bicycle ride, and yay that you can get the scooter out!

    Hi to everyone!

CONFESSION TIME - had two big stupid cookies yesterday. I caved! Bleh! I'll try to take steps so that doesn't happen today. Maybe take some baby carrots in a baggie to keep with me. (oh yeah, carrots are better than cookies anyday! )

During my step routine, i've been trying to visualize that I'm in a real class with other real people. It helps me to keep my form a little better (shrug)

    have a great day!
  • Hey Babes!!

    Reb....NINE POUNDS???? You Are AWESOME!

Gina...lucky you that you could get both of your bikes out! Good for you! I love oatmeal too...the 3 minute kind w/ splenda & blueberries I think I'll go make some.

Holly....I ate more stuff than I should have yesterday too, but I think we're just in the transition mode. It's so darn hard to just quit cold turkey. Each day is getting more and more serious for me. Yeah Baby..you can bet my golf cart is tricked out alright!

Yep....took my tricked out golf cart up up to the clubhouse on Friday before we rode...found the yoga class (the clubhouse is massive)...and decided right then and there I'd get my a$$ in gear right here at home. It was so distracting to be up there w/ so many others..and many of them were waaaay older than me. So GUESS WHAT! This morning, HH and I did Pilates together and now we have a "date" at 7am each morning. This will be a feat for me, because I love to lay in bed and watch TV in the morning, but I'm gonna get up and get it done! Then, while he was getting ready for work, I got on my Gazelle for 15 minutes since I was already warmed up. Then I did a few arm lifts with my dumbells. This is better since HH will benefit too. Once I get back in the exercise groove, maybe I'll try the TaiChi class and see if it's any better.

We had a great weekend....we did the ride to Lake Wales and met up with our South Florida friends, then we all rode back up here where they stayed until Sunday afternoon. Had fun riding through the Ocala National Forest and along the lakes, etc. It was wonderful.

Wonder where HarleyMom is? Geesh....so much snow over the past 3 weeks for her!
