Woohoo! 46-yr-old-acting-inappropriately, here I come!
Amen to that, Holly!! You're doing a great job by the way! When is bike week?
Harley- Sorry that you are feeling bummed. I totally relate. I am so tired of slipping and sliding through the snow, ice and muck. Plus, I HATE my job . Thankfully I love my homelife and that's a blessing.
Jill- Smart idea on saving your points for the Captain. I enjoy whiskey and diet Coke or Budweiser Select sometimes on the weekend. I need to figure points on that. I think its either right at 100 calories or a bit under for the beer. Bottled beer...mmm... What days do you go to ww meetings? Mine are Monday nights. That means I have to be good on the weekends.
Good morning chicks!! Hi Rebel, Yay to you for doing so well with ww and drinking your water! Bike Week is May 11 - 20th. We'll be leaving Wed. the 9th, arriving Friday the 11th afternoon; spending Friday, Sat. and Sunday night; then leaving Monday to get back in Vermont Wed. 16th.
Today is my "monday" 'cause I have Wed. and Thursdays off. So while everyone else is always so TGIF, I'm so 'ug, it's the beginning of the work week for me' oh well. I had a very good two days off. Didn't sleep too much (part of my depression I still have to fight - I usually always want to sleep during the day) and did my allotted chores
Confession time - I took down our Christmas tree yesterday.
Yes, really Well, it was a tiny one, and it was in the corner on a tabletop, but it was a real tree, and was...rather brittle, to say the least. HOW EMBARASSING to admit this But now the corner looks so clean and ...unChristmasy, LOL!!
I make this a separate post 'cause I don't know until the day is over how I'll do
Yesterday I did my full Kelly Roberts tape with the extra weights and her abwork. Plus, while I was watching TV I caught a Gilad's Body in Motion show, and did most of it, though it doesn't seem like much when it's chopped up to accomodate commercials.
Im pretty sure I had about 1200 calories! And it wasn't TOO hard. Thanks goodness for prepacked portion controlled entrees for dinner. And cooked carrots
I hate fighting the depression Vermont. Even on my medication some things on some days are entirely too much.
I've been doing decent with everything here. I didn't go to the gym yesterday because we had more snow and ice here. The scale unfortunately is up this week but then again I have been really cramping and feeling bloated so hopefully by this time next week the scale will be back down.
Scraped by last night...many tornados and lots of damage in our area (Lake County) overnite, but closest one was about 18 miles north of us. Whew!
Reb...I'm SO HAPPY to see you like WW! You will enjoy the meetings and it will help you stay ontrack....but once you've learned all about how to do that yourself and you're really hooked on WW, you'll be able to do it yourself. I don't go to meetings anymore, but I do log my food and count points. I hve some good websites with WW info if you want them. Have you visited the WW section of 3FC??? TONS of info there...I use the catalog of calorie counts all the time...also points on there! There's a restaurant guide too. http://www.3fatchicks.com/food-calorie-counts/index.php
By the way....1.5 oz (1 jigger) of any kind of 80 proof liquor is 2 points. 12 oz. of regular Bud is 3 points, but 12 oz. of Bud Lite is only 2. Check this out girls! Just about anything you want to eat is listed in this vast directory of calories and points! Just search any catagory and you'll probably find it.
Holly, your trip to MB is gonna be fab! I don't think we're going this year....have lots of other things planned. Can't wait to see pics and hear all about your fun time tho. I bet you're gonna look fabulous....you really seem to have the motivation. 1200 calories may just jump-start that scale....you doing OK with it? I love a 46 yr. old acting inapropriately. LOLOL I guess I can be guilty of that too....even at almost 56! Girls just gotta have fun, ya know?
Harley, I hope you're thawing out a little.....Hey 2Frus and Wannab! Glad everyone seems fine and ontrack. Wannab....hope you're feeling better soon with the bloating and depression....I (kinda) remember those days....menopause is like freedom except for those damn power surges!! (hot flashes!!)
Fortunately we're just going for the evening - we'll arrive at 4pm and head back at 11pm!!!! We're getting the ferry over and taking the bike. The ride to the ferry port is 2 hours, but I'm allowing 3. I bet we'll be there stupidly early with nothing to do, and stupidly sleepy, but I'd rather not risk missing the ferry.
WOW 2FRUS!!!! CAN WE GO TOO????????? I wanna ride my bike to France....waaaaaaaah! (Unfortunately for us, the "ferry" to London is called an ocean liner!) Can ya wait on us til we can get there since you're gonna be stupidly early anyway????
Jill - I Love Dottie's WLZ!!! Thanks for the reminder! i was thinking about you this morning when cetral FL was all over the news. Glad you and yours are all ok.
2Fru -Dh is riding behind? wow..let us know how that goes. Pics please. I also want to know what's for dinner in France....
wannabsexy - hope your bloating has gone away....
Holly, dahlink..Christmas Tree? More like Christmas pile of needles by now... Bike Week sounds hella fun!
Andrea - that's so cool you are enjoying WW!! I can hear more enthusiasm out of you than I have in a while. I 'm in a slump about my job at the moment myself - so I hear ya.
OMG...the devastation is terrible and 19 dead. And soooooo close to us. We ride to Lady Lake and Paisley all the time....Paisley is a little rural area that doesn't even have a stop sign!!! We love the Pirate's Pub there.....biker bar and spared the tornado. Geesh. We are feeling pretty damn lucky tonight.
Chick hopefully you will pull out of the slump about your job soon.
2Fru have a blast. I got to go to France my senior year in high school and we won't say when that was, lol. Loved it.
And I know there are others I have missed. Sorry for that, but I am posting quick.
Some great news for today. At the gym today we did my 3 month eval. You know checking out the changes, I was floored, and couldn't believe some of them check these out
Lost 7 inches in my waist
8.5 inches in my hips
2.5 inches in my bustline
and I will have to do my thighs when I get home. I was wearing my sweats and she didn't show a change but last time I had on shorts.
We live in out in the county (Lake)....the closest little towns are Eustis and Leesburg. We are about 10 miles south of where the tornado(s) cut across the state. No damage here......but we are thanking our lucky stars, that's for sure. It could have just as easily been us.
Was baaaaaad, baaaaad, baaad yesterday at our SuperBowl party....took lots of "legal" stuff to eat, then that dam Cap'n Morgan made me eat all the bad stuff. Oh well.....back on track today with nothing on the horizon (that I can see) to make me get off-track again before we cruise in THIRTY days!!!!!! OMG...can't believe it's almost here...we've had this planned for 2 years!
Back doing Pilates....HH and I have pretty much stopped coughing and hacking, so we're back at it. Hope ya'll survived this football holiday better than I did!
Wannab...I just read your incredible post about all the inches you've lost! WOWOWOWOWEEEEEE! You have lost a whole person!!! I"ll bet you're doing the Happy Dance! You GO Girl!
Gina....hope your job improves soon....if not, get the heck outta there! Life's toooo short to be miserable in the place where most of your time is spent...and something better is waiting right around the corner for you! HH is going through that right now. He has quit his job that is full of incompetent idiots as managers and terrible product as a result and now we're venturing out on our own. Scarey....but sometimes it's the only way.
Jill - SO glad to hear that you were safe from those storms!! but so sorry about the others who lost so much
wannabe - oh my gosh, congrats on those inches lost!!! After only 3 months?? Wow again!!!
2frust - KEWL! going to France on your bike!!! And so casual...just popping over for the evening...You're so...intercontinental Bring back a baguette or two, sticking out of your panniers
Hi Gina!! Ya know, my stiff dried little Christmas tree now looks pretty nice outside, 'cause it's all covered with fresh snow Was I supposed to take the lights off too?
Hi Harleymom! How are you doing? are you feeling a little more 'up'? I sure hope so.
I ate bad stuff on Super Bowl sunday but I'm ready to get back on track today.
Jill - are you anywhere near Ocala? My late dad and late great-aunt bought an undeveloped lot in Marion Oaks. We (my bro and sis) have been paying the taxes on it each year (Dad died in 2000). At first we were just overwhelmed with everything else we had to do concerning administering his estate, so the Florida property was never in our minds much. And it was assesed at only $3500 for a half acre lot. So the taxes were like $100 a year.
NOW just 6 years later it's assesed at $18,500. wow! Well, as they say, 'they don't make land anymore'. I want to sit tight and just wait for the price to go up more, cause once we sell it, we split it 3 ways.
My husband is worried that anything might have happened on that lot, that something like squatters are camped on it. I personally don't think that's feasiable, 'cause wouldn't the Neighborhood ***'n. or someone complain if someone is tenting on it, or put up a quickly hammered shack? As far as I know, there are dwellings (either small one-story houses or mobile homes) around it. Or if not on either side of the property, at least on the same street.
anyway, just wondering if you're familiar with that area at all, and what it's like.
Gotta get ready to exercise off the cheese/salsa dip, chips, cheese fondue, pie, etc. !!! here's to renewed self control!!!
OMG...Holly....YES! That lot is definitey a gold mine! We ride up there all the time and Marion Oaks is totally developed, when it comes to roads, utilities, lighting. etc. It's a huge area, with new and newer homes dotting the development. I doubt very seriously that you have anything to worry about when it comes to "goings ons" on your lot. A note tho....Florida is tax-certificate state, which means your land can be forfeited for non-payment of land taxes....so make sure those tax payments get paid on time!! If you want to....PM me the address of the lot and next time we ride that direction, we'll go look at it for you.
Hey Guys....I totally forgot about these and have discovered them again. They're great to keep on-hand for a zero point snack....and kids love them too. It's Jello finger food!
small amount:
1 envelope of Knox Gelatin dissolved in 1/3 cup of cold water
1 small package of SF Jello...any flavor, dissolved in 1 cup of boiling water
Combine the two and pour into square container so you can cut it into blocks after you've cooled it for 3 hours in the 'fridge. Store covered in refrigerator.
large amount:
4 envelopes of Knox Gelatin dissolved in 1 cup of cold water
3 small packages of SF Jello dissolved in 3 cups of boiling water
Combine and pour into large glass pan and cool for 3 hours in 'fridge...then cut into blocks and store in covered bowl in refrigerator.
