  • Hey Chicks, Happy Monday! Had a fun weekend, stayed busy. Went to valentines dance dinner on Friday, it was fun. Went and saw because I said so on saturday. It didn't get good reviews but I enjoyed it, funny and cute.

Stayed pretty good on the whole eating thing this weekend. Only the scale will tell me on Tuesday how I am doing.

Hope you all are doing well Keep on Keep'n Chicks!
  • New Bike!!
    Hi Chickies!

I haven't been getting my notice of posts either, Wannab...and like you I see everyone is hanging in there and had good weekends. YAY! I keep fighting with the same 2 or 3 pounds....they come and they go and then they come back again. What a pain. I hope I can break this cycle soon! It's probably the fault of that pesky Cap'n Morgan.

Reb....you definitely need to think about a cruise. Need help? I'm available! Gina....I'd be sooooooo jealous if you ran away to Mexico. What a cool idea...and you already have a house land there? Wow! Where abouts?? Hi 2Frus! Hi Holly! Hi Everyone!

We had an awesome weekend....the HOG Shrimp Boil was wonderful and the poker run with some of our sister HOG clubs was a huge success and lots of fun! We rode like the wind all weekend long. Weather was decent....cool, but sunny and I got a chance to wear my leathers.

But here's the BIG NEWS! I mean Big, BIG NEWS!!!! We're getting a NEW BIKE!!!! Yes...we traded our 1999 Ultra Classic in for a 2007 Ultra Classic. Isn't that what you guys have HarleyMom?? Man does she FLY!!!! That new Harley engine w/ the 6 speed is incredible. I think most of you guys know that ours was a trike conversion....and the new one is too. Cobalt Blue with 30 miles on her! We get to go sign for her tomorrow....and then they will install a few extras for us. Maybe we'll have her by the afternoon or Wednesday morning. We are waaaaaaay excited! Can you tell??!!! We had pretty much decided we weren't going to trade...and then, Boom! THERE SHE WAS...just waiting for us. We saw her yesterday at our dealership...went back this afternoon and rode her about 15 miles and just knew we had to have her. We're planning some long trips the next 2 summers and have been having a weird electrical problem with our '99...something they just couldn't seem to totally fix. It will be great to have a newer bike when we take off on our journeys. We might ride her to South Florida this Thursday if the weather cooperates....that would help get a few hundred of the 500 break-in miles out of the way. If we don't ride, we'll trailer her.

OMG I still can't believe it! Pics to follow !!
  • Ugggghhh...I had this nice long post all typed out and ready to post and it got lost in cyber space. I had a reply for each of you. Anyhow...here's the short of it...

    Jill- on the new bike!

Gina-Hope you had a great time in 'Frisco! Super place.

HarleyMom- Sending skinny vibes your way for a great weigh in tomorrow! :

wannab- Hope your work week settles down for you a bit!

    Hi Holly and 2 Frus!!

I lost another 4.5 today at weigh in for a total of 6.5 since starting WW.

    Have a great day chicks!

OMG....REB...you are ON FIRE, Girl! That's some kinda FABULOUS news!
    YAY YOU!!!!!
  • First Congrats Reb! Keep the weight loss coming!

Jill that is BIG NEWS! We actually have the street glide and have put the tour pack on it. Love the 07's. The 6 speed is fantastic! You are going to love the ride. I can not believe the dealer let you try before you buy. That is a big NO NO here. There is not a dealer in Colorado that will let you do that. We test drove it in Sturgis and feel in love. Everyone we know wants the 07. Harley was smart making those changes. I hope you get to go out and ride, ride, ride when you get it. It is snowing here today so no riding for us. I love the warranty we got also, my husband gets another bike if his goes into the shop for any reason. I don't how many years it is covered but it was a lot. It covers everything, I mean everything! If it gets stolen they will make up the difference in the price to get it replaced if need be, gotta love that. I hope your dealer gives you as great of a deal. We have the demin blue, it is the flat paint. Love the fact that it does not need to be waxed! It is really pretty.

Well Hi to all and keep on keep'n on Chicks!
  • Yep Harley...we got to ride her about 15 miles on the test drive but knew within the first mile we had to have her! We went to Gator Harley this morning and signed the papers...got the insurance and bought a little B-L-I-N-G. We needed better grips, a luggage rack for the tour pack and few little chrome pretties. We were also able to take a few things off our old bike that will go on the new....like those leather wallets that hug the inside of the windshield, etc. Now we're waiting for the call to go ride her home, but it's supposed to rain like crazy this afternoon. Hope it holds off for a while! If not....then we'll get her in the morning....right in time for the Wednesday ride. Didn't get any pics yet....they already had her in the back when we arrived....but stand by! It will be sooooo incredible to have a new bike....the ones we've had have always been used.

Harley...your Street Glide just sounds awesome. Love that denim blue!! Maybe we can meet up when Mike and I ride to Wyoming next summer. We'll be stopping in Lafayette to see our good friend on the way.
  • Here She Is!...Our Cobalt Blue Beauty!
WOW does she FLY!!! That's my HH onboard Somehow the pic with the 2 of us on her wasn't in my camera when I got home! Guess our sales guy didn't push the right button

  • ahhhhh...what a beauty, Jill! Your new baby is swwweeeeet!! Gorgeous bike. Our Softtail is fairly close in color as yours.

Anyone have Valentine's Day plans for tomorrow?!
  • Jill - CONGRATS!!! and thanks for the pic, it is SWEET! MANY happy miles to you and your husband on it!!

Rebel - congrats to you too!!!! wow!! keep it up!

    Hi to everyone else!

I'm SO glad I have off today and tomorrow - our first BIG snowstorm of the year, we already have about 6" and a total of 16" to 24" is predicted! that's snowfall, not drifting amounts! So I will just chill and shovel all day

I specifically asked husband not to give me any chocolate/candy for V day, and yay, he didn't. I just couldn't resist it if he did. Got a nice card and flowers.

    have a great day!
  • Jill - that's a beeeeyooooooooooty! Very niiiiiiice!

I haven't got anything for V-day. I did say not to bother, but I told him this morning that I LIKE CHOCOLATE! We're going to the cinema tonight anyway, so that will be cool
  • Jill wow what a beautiful bike. The 07 has a lot of power all right. Your going to love it! Especially since you have been riding something with some mechanical problems and it is a little older. My DH couldn’t even hardly keep up with me on his 98 Heritage, now he can zip by me now problem. I don't mind going on as a passanger as much now either. It is a nice ride for sure! I hope you can ride today!

No valentines plans but who knows DH might surprise me last minute. I was down 1 lb this week so I don't want to gain any valentines weight!

Good luck to all you hot biker babes and have a great Valentines day! Keep on Keep'n on!
  • I just found this group. This is great! I haven't read through all the posts yet, but I just wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Julie. I'm 52, and I learned to ride (dirt bikes) when I was 16. I owned a Honda CB360 in the early 80s and commuted to work on it almost daily. Then I got divorced, went to college, etc., and went 20+ years without a bike.

Three years ago, I got interested in riding again and asked my hubby if he'd like to take the MSF course (he had never ridden). We took it together, then bought bikes, and have been having a blast ever since. He owns a Yamaha FJR 1300, and I ride a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic. We've made a lot of new friends through our riding, and it's been great for our marriage. We do a lot of riding in the mountains (I live right at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Fort Collins, CO).

Thanks a lot for starting this group! I'm very active on my Kawasaki forum (I'm a moderator), and it's really great to find a group for riders here.
  • Hey Jukie, and welcome.

I loved finding this group too. I am just learning to ride. My hubbie has an FJ1200 and I have a Yamaha Virago 750.

    Great bike flsun. Enjoy it.

Light snow yesterday here but not much. Supposed to be in the 60's early part of next week so hubby has promised to get me out on my bike those days. Gotta go to work ya'll have a great day.
  • Mornin' Chickies! Welcome Jukie!

Thanks for all the nice bike compliments! We rode her about 100 miles yesterday and she IS awesome!

Well, Chicks....we're off to S. Florida this morning to ride for the weekend. We've decided to trailer Ms Cobalt-Blue so we can take our dog with us. She's 14 and we don't like to leave her any more than we have to...and we'll be leaving her for 11 days when we cruise in THREE WEEKS!!! OMG....I just can't BELIEVE it's almost here after 2 years of waiting! Anyway....we'll be riding a bunch down there.....and the couple we'll be staying with are just going to GO CRAZY when we back our new bike out of her trailer...we haven't told them yet!!! Should be really fun to surprise (and shock!) them! We will ride up to their Thursday nite BikeNite...then tomorrow we'll probably ride around Lake Okeechobee....a pretty cool ride. Then we'll probably ride the beach road (A1A) down to Jupiter or maybe to my hometown of Boca Raton, altho I really do hate to go there because there are waaaaaaaaaaay tooooooo many people there now! Anyway, wherever we go, it's always a fun riding weekend with our S. Florida friends.

Next week we're riding to Clearwater Beach to visit a friend who will be escaping from the cold and snow of northern NY for a couple of weeks. Hope she can get here!

Hope you all stay safe and warm......have a great weekend Chickies!
  • Jill wow sounds like fun. It is cold and snowing this a.m. but the promise of sun is around the corner. Enjoy the new bike and have a great time!

Welcome Jukie, you live not far from me! I work in Denver live in Thornton. We love riding in the moutains. I hate the darn weather! I also ride DH has the new 07 HD street glide and I own a 97 HD Road King.

Well Chicks how was your Valentines? DH took me out for steak last night. It was good, not very romantic as the place we went had lots of kids and parents let them run the place. Man have things changed over the years, my mom would have pulled are ears off if we would acted up in public!

Well all stay warm and have a great day Keep on Keep'n on!
