Hi all,

Just checking in to let you know I'm still alive and kickin. July started a little shaky due to the holiday long weekend and 3 BBQ parties in row but I've been on track for the last 2 days so 2/4 in July and my weight remains the same at 150. This is the week I break the 150 plateau!!!! I've been exercising regularly doing pilates every other day and going the the gym on the days I don't do pilates. Things are tightening up nicely.
Well bust day today so will try and check in tonight.
Congrats to everyone movin the scale down. Keep it up ladies.

Nina

So last night I ended up feeling uber guilty when I went down at my regular time to use the apt gym and all the machines were being used (there's usually no one in there at 10pm!). Because my left knee had been bothering me, I held up a white flag and ended up not working out at all, instead of doing a video or going out for an outside jog. I tried making myself feel better reminding myself of my required cardio that day (i walk to work (25mins) i managed a doggy daycare (8k+ walking dogs at work), and I jog home (15mins), which I know was just excuses excuses. My body seems to have become accostumed to the walking i do to/from/at work so i've tried uping the ante by doing other forms of exercise and weight lifting. Yesterday was not one of those days
HOWEVER, I decided to weigh myself this morning (I usually do so just on sundays no, as otherwise i'm too scale obsessed) because TOM is just around the bend. I've lost 2 pounds since sunday! Meaning i've already reached my goal for th week. I'm going to aim for one more pound which would make me down to 146. My goal of 140 by vacation (august 3rd) looks like it may be acheivable.
I hope that all of you Americans have a glorious 4th of July and succeed in not munching too much at the bbqs, drinkfests or whatever you have in store for the day.

Sno- I made a ticker for the labor day challenge. Thanks!

Well, this week hasn't been too good. I have been calorie counting and going to the gym but it looks like the scale is stuck. It seems that it's going to start coming off slowly now.. I knew it had to happen. I'm not going to give up though. I just hope I can get through today without eating too much. I'm going to a barbeque... I think I'll bring some veggies to snack on instead of chips. I'm going to try and be good. Happy fourth of july everyone!

Just checking in in the middle of the day. I am feeling really gross right now, I was starving because all I had was an Atkins shake for breakfast, so by the time I got around to eating lunch I was STARVING!! I went to Wendys and now my I am not feeling that great! I hate it!! I just feel overstuffed, I think the french fries did it. Before I ordered I was tempted to get a salad with my lunch but I was driving and couldn't eat a salad and drive, now I look at it I should have ordered a salad and eaten that when I got home and ate the sandwhich in the car. I also think I ate too fast! YUCK YUCK I hope I don't do this to myself again.

Happy 4th of July!!

Default Happy July 4!

Hi all:

hope you are having a fantastic 100% on plan 4th!

And if you have gone off the wagon, remember--it isn't the cheat that counts, its what you do afterward--right!!!

I am having a quiet day--didnt feel like going to bbq--too tempting, one of my favorites!

Had my walk in the morning and then my husband I put the air conditioner up in our bedroom--it was 88 in my bedroom when we put it up and now it is 76--what a difference it makes! Plus it was a workout to put it up.

Then I went thru my pants to see what fits. I have some smaller sizes that I have been waiting to try. My 16w's are tight but I can zip them. I am hoping the end of the month they will be in play! It is funny tho--my size 20 Babyphats still fit--I think they are magic pants and are shrinking with me--I have a new size 16w Babyphats that I hope to be in by the end of the month. I have one pair of linen capris that are ridiculous but I might keep them because being so baggy they are great when it is hot--around the house tho--too embarassing to wear in public.

helpmelose: Hey thats not so bad--so far you have been doing great! I understand about being overstuffed tho--I hate that feeling. And good for you for checking in right after the cheat--it always helps me to write about what I am doing, what my goals are, read everyone's posts and look at my ticker to get me back on track! Also--remember those new jeans--take them out and they will remind you to stay on track!

Neesy: dont worry--everyone has plateaus. I think the body just has to get used to weight loss. Usually after I have a plateau then I will lose a coupla pounds all at once! Dont let the numbers get to you and keep up those workouts! :luck: at the bbq--that is smart to bring some veggies to snack on. Actually once I brought sliced zucchini and roasted it on the grill and dipped it in chili sauce! Yum!

Elegant: wow you have an active schedule! I can see why your knee might be hurting--you do a lot of high impact. I have knee problems I am recovering from--had to have physical therapy. Make sure you have good shoes and ice that knee!

Nina: Good to hear from you and congrats on 2/4 after going to 3 bbQs! I dont think I could have done it! :luck: today!

Lekhika: I wouldnt worry about the salmon. Even tho it is fatty it is the right kind of fat--omega three which is very good for the skin and weight loss. My weight loss has gone up from about 2lbs a week to 3 lbs a week since I started taking omega 3 supplements

Have great fourth everyone! By the way--I figured out that together we are losing like 3 lbs a day! Keep it up!

and to all those who are at BBQ's!!

Thanks Sno for the reassurance. I'm pretty good that way, I let yesterday wash off me and begin each new day like it's the first. So, I ate really well and mindfully today. I began the day with yoga (god I feel strong and calm when I do this stuff) and ended it with an hour of interval training on the treadmill, then some pushups and situps.

A loverly 4th of July spent at home. I tore through my chores and got tons accomplished and now I can sit back and be all aaaaah!

Snow, you don't have my labour day goal just my monthly! So since May 7th I've lost 15 pounds (I was 162, i'm now at 147). I started my diet on March 5th when I was 176. I'm hoping to lose an additional 15 pounds by labourday, making me 132, which would be 2-4 pounds shy of my final goal.
So...
I will lose 30 lbs by Labour day--15 down, 15 to go!
You'll have to excuse my way of spelling Labour, it's the Canadian way of spelling it.

Good morning everyone. I'm doing great on my July mini-challenge and managed to avoid all sorts of trouble with alcohol and food for our July 1, Canada Day!
So far this month I'm 4/4 and have been sticking like glue to my plan. I love that I get to come here and post that as it feels like when I want to have something that's not on plan or bail on a workout I tell myself...you'll be very disappointed when you report to the LD Challenge participants and it makes me evaluate if it's really something I want to have or do.
I just want to tell you all thanks so much for helping me be accountable and improving my lifestyle. I was kidding around with my 14 year old daughter yesterday about only being able to have TWO graham crackers with my 1/2 banana as my morning snack today and she looked at me so earnestly and said "Just think Mom...TWENTY POUNDS is just around the corner!"...she's so great as I have grown girlfriends that even knowing how hard I'm working would say..."well, just have more then. A couple can't hurt." and yet she knows enough to give words of encouragement without sounding judgemental.
I'm feeling very fortunate these days. I can feel my energy level increasing, I can feel and see my clothes getting looser, the folks in Siberia can see the twinkle in my DH's eye. and I'm just overall enjoying life right now and you all play a huge part in that.

Thanks ALL of you!
Tamara

Yesterday I did not do good at all!!! I didn't do any exercises, I was just a lazy butt and today I am having a hard time motivating myself to workout. I still have a lot of time left in the day so I just have to get it done.

Please kick my butt into gear today - I need to be motivated!!

Default Thursday! 4/4 on July challenge!

Hi all:

We got up early to walk the dog today because we knew it was going to be hot--it is 95 in my living room. The dog and I are ensconced in my bedroom that has aircon. Not going out unless it really cools down. Fortunately I got my exercise in first thing so no problem, I can chill in here. Still doing good.

I am thinking about going out to lunch or dinner with my dh next week for his birthday. I was going to eat a salad and some of his burger. Then home for a very small piece of pie. I wonder if I can do it and not go on a big binge! I have been on this plan for 73 days and I just am in the mindset of eat this and nothing else. We'll see.

helpmelose: I dont know if it is too late but here you go--

Tamara: isnt it great to be getting results and to be 4/4? I love it!

barb: good to hear from you--:luck: on your weigh in!

Good morning all

Wow Lekhika 3 lbs is awesome!!!
Sno 70+ days. You've definately formed the lifestyle changes. Keep it up and you'll be there before you know it.
Sounds like everyone is doing great.
The past couple of days have been right on track for me and the scale is now in the high 140's but will wait for monday because I still have to make it through another summer weekend and have several social events. I've been to the gym daily lately as I've be putting a bathing suit regularly now so I'm really trying to tone up. Even though I'm not see much loss on the scale clothes are fitting nicely. I'm in a size 8 comfortably and can squeaze into a 6 sometimes. A big goal for me was to walk in a skirt without my thighs rubbing and just this week I noticed that my leg muscles have improved to this point.

Have a great day everyone,

Nina

Good morning everyone!

Sno: You're doing fabulous! I can't wait until I can say that I've been on my plan for that long. I was 6 weeks OP as of last Tuesday and down 17lbs! I can't wait for 206 (a full 20 lbs) and then off to ONEderland. I'm sure that a tiny deviation from your plan for DH's birthday won't be terrible, you just have to make sure that you remember how well you've done and not let it turn into more. It is great to be sticking with my goals and see results, I'm 5/5 now but I won't count today yet as we're heading down to the Calgary Stampede tonight and it's going to be really hard to resist corndogs/mini donuts and....this year there's something new on the midway...Drumroll please....deepfried cheesecake! Ugh!

Lekhika: You are also doing awesome! 3 lbs! WOW! Keep up the amazing work!

40before40: WOW! Size 8/6, that's fantastic. I'd be happy in a 13! LOL Good for you on working and trimming up those thigh muscles. You're well on your way to being one of those people that others look at and think...geez, she must only eat "health" food and work out for hours every day.

I hope everyone is doing great. Have a wonderful weekend and stay on plan for Monday's WI.

Cheers, Tamara
