Sorry I have not been posting as much. I started a new job and it is tiring so just to check in. Last week I lost what I had gained the week before, I hope this week is going to be good! I guess I will find out on Monday.

I hope everyone else is doing good!

Snow: So no weight loss changes to report, the last update you had looks great!

So my official weigh in for the last stretch is 143. My goal of 8 months by labour day is totally doable so i'm pretty excited about that. I have woken up with a sore throat but I won't let that defeat me. Medecine, and maybe a little more low impact exercising than the hardcore i've been doing hopefully won't hinder my progress.
I tried the lean cuisines lasagna last night and wow! I have to say it's by far my favourite of their meals. That with a nice salad and a nestea zero made for an excellent dinner on my balcony. Happy humpday everyone!

I dropped to 117.5 this month, .5 shy of my goal for July. On to August and the home stretch!

That's 14.5 lost and 5.5 left to this challange!

Default Still no loss...

Well I missed my July goal by 2 lbs. So I'm looking for a 10 lbs loss in August to meet my Labour Day goal. I know I can do it, just have to up my exercise a little and keep up with the OP eating. I have hit a plateau I think, so I'm going to have to figure something different out to get back on the down trend.

Have a great day everyone!

Default Wednesday

Hi all:

I am debating with myself as to whether I will exercise now or later--if I go now I can get it out of the way, if I go later I can go with the hubby--who wont exercise unless I go with him--that makes me mad! I wish he would take care of himself without me nagging!

Anyway my scale is firmly at 222--which is where I was after doing Atkins for 11 months 2 years ago. I havent been below that weight in a good long while! I wonder if I am stalling now--I thought I would lose a bunch of weight this weekend because I was pretty hungry--usually that means that I am losing.

Still hanging in there with the 100% days--anyone want to try it for the rest of the challenge? We have just under 5 weeks!

Neesy: on your 3 lbs! It feels so good to see that scale move--good job on thinking about how to increase your motivation!

Sock: on your 7 lb loss for July. I think it is reasonable to expect about 1-2 lbs loss per week--more than that and it is kinda hard on the body and could kick in some major cravings. I am planning on 8lbs for August too! We can do it!

Helpmelose: great job on your weight loss--I sure know what it feels like to lose what you had lost before--still it is a loss and much better than gaining--right?? I am really good at that!

Barb: Yippee--it is great when the scale is moving in the right directon--are you doing anything different to lose lately?

Elegant: You me and Sock are all planning to lose 8 in August!! We can do it!! I am going out of town this month too--we have to make sure we just stick to the plan--I am almost persuaded it is more fun to lose weight than it is to eat!

Lekhika: CUTE picture and on your weight loss--.5 off your goal and you had vacation! That is awesome will power. You have inspired me to add my picture too, finally!

Have a great 100% day all!

Well sno you have reminded me that I FAILED completely on the July challenge, so I am gonna try again!

My goal is to get at least 25 grams of fiber per day, and do yoga 3 times per week. Trying to build up the good habits slowly and since my previous exercise goals have failed I will do this one easier. Next month I can try adding some more serious cardio, but since I start a new job mid month don't want to make it too hard on myself.

So for today I will be 1/31, gonna do my yoga now and already met my fiber goal after my snack.

Morning Everyone,
I have definately been MIA lately but have a problem with my laptop and have to send it back to manufacturer to be fixed while still under warranty. I"ll be out of touch until labour day weekend. I've been maintaining most of my weight loss. Up and down abit but no major back slides. I'm sitting at 151 right now. I'll definately be in for the next challenge Sno as I wnat to make my final goal of 135 by Christmas. Good luck everyone and congrats to all who have been doing so well. I'll check in the end of August when I'm back from a two week camping trip.

Have a great summer,

Nina

Finally I broke my plateau...it was only about 2.5 weeks, but I was getting frustrated anyhow.

This morning the scale said 205! So I'm hoping for 204 by Monday weigh in. That also means that I'd only need 8 more lbs by Labour day to meet my challenge. I'm already getting excited about the New Year's challenge! I can't believe I'm only 5 lbs from Onederland! Wow! Thanks so much to everyone on this forum, I don't know that I could have done it so far without all of your support.

Cheers, Tamara

Ps...fellow Canucks - Happy Long Weekend!

Default Friday!

Hi all:

we are getting lots of good news on this site--fantastic! I hope that people who are struggling will also post. Lots of support is available here!

I have been medium on my exercise this week--I missed on day of leg exercises so only four days--but I di dwant to take it easy this week because of my knee. So that is probably best.

Had a hair trim today! Maybe that will help with my next weigh in! I finally broke the 222 barrier today and am weighing in at 220. So I have my weight loss done for the week--I am hoping for one more by monday! It will feel good to break that 220 barrier.

A friend of mine invited me to go to San Francisco with her and she would pay for the hotel. At first I said yes but then I remembered that one of the two things I love to do in SF--go out to eat--which I dont really want to do on nutrisystem--I just want to stay on plan until Thanksgiving! Also, I love to shop there and I dont have any money. I also blew a diet there once so I just want to stay home and eat nutrisystem! I am determined to lose all my weigh t this time!

Tamara: great to hear from you--205 is so great--you are close to onederland! It must feel pretty good! I know--I am excited about the New Years Challenge too--what is your goal for New Years?

Nina: I dont know if you will read this but it was good to hear from you and hope you have a great camping trip. two weeks! Heaven.

Snow, just a question...What do you plan to do once you get to goal? Are you going to go off Nutrisystem, or stay on it? My friends mom lost 70 pounds on Nutrisystem, has maintained 3 years now...But is still on it. I just don't know if I could eat it the rest of my life!

Default Maintenance hopes/fears!

Hi Mary:

thats a great question. I have been thinking a lot about maintenance because I realize that I will need to be careful about my eating so I dont gain all my weight back. I was reading some of the posts on the maintenance board and they have a lot of good advice.

I plan to eat regular food and just keep the portions and the proportions of protein and carb and fat the same as on nutrisystem because they do a good job of keeping the blood sugar even so that I dont get too hungry. I do love the convenience of nutrisystem foods so I may still eat some of them especially the lunch bars which are really tasty. I will experiment with other prepackaged foods like lean cuisine etc. so that I have some ready to eat stuff.

I wil probably increase my calories very slowly and see what level of calories I can eat on maintenance. Hopefully my concept of portions will be retrained so that whatever I eat I will still eat the same small portions I eat on nutrisystem.

Long answer?

Sno

Good answer LOL. That's great you are going to branch out past Nutrisystem during maintenance. Lean Cuisines are good good good. A life saver for me! How many calories a day do you get with the Nutrisytem plan?

Default Saturday!

Hi May:

Nutrisystem gives you 1200-1300 cals per day. This comes in 5 meals.

Breakfast:

1 egg or 1/2 cup cereal with .5 cup nonfat milk.
1 protein-one egg, 1 oz lofat cheese, 1 cup nf milk or 1/4 c cottage cheese
1 fruit-2 tbs raisins, 1/2 c applesauce, small apple, 12 cherries, 3/4 cup blueberries, .5 banana

Lunch:

1 entree--usually I have a cup of split pea or bean soup or this entree called cheesy whipped potatoes with broccoli (I will probably keep ordering these), or a lunch bar (which are really good)
1 protein: same as breakfast or you could have 1 oz of meat
salad with fat free dressing

Snack:
1 protein and 1 fruit

Dinner:

1 entree--probably like a lean cuisine
1 cooked veggie
salad with fat free dressing or fruit
1 fat (can be 1tsp of peanut butter or 5 olives)

Dessert:

this is usually a nutrisystem dessert or you can substitute 1 protein, 1 fruit and .5 fat.

On some of the stuff like proteins, fat, fruits and vegetables, there is a bunch of other choices but I just listed the ones I use most often.

If you want more info I can find it online I think and get you the full lists.

BTW--I had a NSV today! I tried on a size 18 pair of Baby phat jeans I have had waiting in my closet and they fit! A little snug but wearable! I will be saying goodbye to some of my other jeans soon!

Have a great day all!
