Default Monday Weigh In

Good morning everbirdie! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. My sister came in from KS on Saturday late at night and we had a great day yesterday. She brought me some clothes and they're the smallest I've worn for a while (and already almost too big!). She also decided she was gonna stick to my plan for the week she is here as she's getting married in less than a month and at her last dress fitting is was almost too tight. She's fairly thin, 5'8" and about 155 (she got the good genes!) LMBO! She's a paramedic so being fit is part of her job sort of. Anyhow she's hoping that she can shed just a couple of pounds before the wedding and make sure she's not popping out of her dress.

Anyhow the scale was friendly this morning and I'm at 211...that's a total of 15 lbs since May 23 and a total of 4 lbs since I started this challenge. Only 16 more to go for labour day! Yeah! (pardon my Cdn spelling) LOL

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Cheers,
Tamara

Thumbs up Monday Morning Weigh In

Hello everyone!

Quick Monday weigh in as the day has quickly gotten out of control and it isnt even noon yet My sister came to visit this weekend and we ate out alot - not so great on eating healthy but I did exercise - didn't gain any nor did I lose any - oh well!

Lost 4 lbs this week since starting - 16 lbs to go with 10 weeks left! I know we are all busy but FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS! We will be looking great come September. Best of luck this week staying consistent with your eating and exercising goals!

Default Monday 10 weeks to go!

Hi everyone!

I am ecstatic today--another three pounds this week! I couldnt believe it when I stepped on the scale, after losing 3 last week I figured I would lose about 1 this week. So I went back and stepped on again and it was true! So since starting nutrisystem 9 weeks ago I have lost 29 lbs! I am so psyched.

And last night I was so tempted to cheat. My husband was really chowing down--eating candy bars and fruit. I had gone to the farmers market and got a lot of great fruit and he was crunching crunching and even put a big bowl of grapes right next to me which I automatically reached for then stopped myself. Whew!

to bridget for not continuing the cycle. It is really hard to stop when you are feeling sad and unresolved. Good for you. Thats probably why you have been so successful so far. Maybe next time you log-on you could list your reasons for wanting to lose. I know that helped me when I was upset on Saturday, as well as staying busy on projects. Here is some dust to keep you doing

to tleef for you loss and your new size! It is so great to put on clothes that are smaller and even better that they are almost too big! It will be nice for you to have a diet buddy!

good job to jay--it is really hard to stay on plan with people visiting. No gain speaks for itself--at least you wont have to re-lose weight you gained!

Cant wait to hear how everone else is doing!

Okay checking in here....sorry to hear about the hubby's comment, sometimes the nuerons don't seem to click in some of these guys they same way they do us! I know more than once I have gotten really ticked off about something said and then just ended up having to let it go because it wasn't worth the drama and he had no clue, so I know where your coming from. Congrats on the big loss Sno, I am excited also because I have been seeing big changes since I started calorie counting into a journal.

Ok so since starting the challenge I am down 7 lbs!! I am now 195.5 from 202.5 so exciting!! I also got on and off the scale 3 times making sure it was not a fluke because I was hoping for a flat 196 lol!

Luxorbea - I am sorry I hope that you and your husband have talked about what happened and everything is better now.

tleef- congrats on getting some new clothes and I know that you must be feeling AWESOME since they are a little big- congrats again!!

snow - I am also ecstatic!! I lost 3 pounds this past week!! It feels awesome! So my total weight loss to date is 5 pounds!

I need to lose 3 pounds a week from here on out to reach my goal in 10 weeks - really it is 2.7 pounds. I know I can do this, I was feeling frustrated yesterday because I was looking at different diet plans and I have done atkins/low carb in the past and I was considering starting that again because I can see results faster, but I know the outcome in the end - I put everything that I lost and more back on. I am just sticking to not eating as many carbs as I would have before.

I hope everyone has a great week!!

Hi everyone,

I've been MIA due to computer problems but things are hopefully resolved.

Welcome to everyone just joining in.

My weigh in is officially 150.5. I'm so close to breaking into the 140's so hopefully next week. At least I lost the 3 pounds I gained the week before that were threatening to stick around. I'm feeling pretty pumped right now so this will help stay on plan. For the June mini challenge I've managed to do 20/25. I'm getting closer to my goal weight and finding it harder to loose and slower but as long as it is still coming off I can't complain.
Lux men can be such insensitive dopes. I'm sorry it made you feel so down. You're doing awesome and falling off every now and then happens to us all. I always feel so blah after falling off I try to remember how good I feel while on plan to help get back quickly. PMS is just not fair. Mines gotten a little better since taking off almost 40lbs, but I could still commit acts of violence some times Hee Hee. Right now I'm PMSing but instead of getting to angry I've just gone on strike as the livin maid and I'm making my teens do some work for a change. Chin up girl your going to do this!!!!
As far as wheat goes. I've gone off it about 95% of the time because a while ago I noticed howeven wholewheat would slow down digestion for me and make me bloat especially when I ate a fair amount of it throughout the day. I could have up to a 5 lb weight flux without really binging. I eat rice oats, corn etc without any problem. I gave up most bread but every now and then I crave grilled cheese. If I take a fibre supplement right after it really helps with the sluggish bowel.

Congrats to all the losers and have a great on plan week.

Cheers,

Nina

Wow, everyone is doing great. My numbers didn't change but since I've really only been going 3 days I didn't expect much. I'm doing better each day, logging my food and tightening up the numbers as I study the log.
I am so inspired by you guys. Keep up the good work eveyone.

so proud of everyone... edzard-- way to go getting under 200lbs that kicks butt!

me still stuck at the same ole dumb number that i can NOT get passed its like.. i was in swimming pool for over 2 hrs ... and although im a "grown up" i was acting like a kid.. running around racing.. swiming.. i even tred water until i couldnt any more tryin to burn some calories... im sure i burned over 800 cals in the pool ALONE.. and i ate around 1500 for that day.. (my cal intake is between 1400 and 1600 a day) so i know i burnt way more than i ate.. and yet this morning.. nothing... its sooooooooo depressing.. i dont expect to loose 20 lbs over night but ive been working really hard.. for only a POUND! its aggervating.. and words of motivation!? i kinda had a slip tonight.. i had jap again..for lunch.. i dont know how many cals but im sure close to 800 (i know its alot) and then for supper... i had small baked tater.. round 100 cals w/ butter already added... a side salad and a 1/2 peice of chicken boneless skinless.. THEN about 3 hrs later i decided to sit my fat butt down and eat a 1/2 of a hersey chocolate bar... gosh i feel so bad.. GUILT.. is what its called LOL... anyways.. yall kick me in tha butt any time now... but my weight is still that same.. maybe a few more days in the pool this wk and hittin up the eliptical ill be down a lb or 2 by this friday

BUT great job for everyone else!!! yall ROCK!

chunky banana! Don't get too bummed out. I've had days where there is no loss at all and then a couple of days later...BAM! 2 lbs. Just keep on doing what you're doing and keep exercising and it will come.

Are you journaling your food intake? It's hard to do that when you're eating out but you can guestimate and it's probably pretty close. That may show you if there are any downfalls to what you're eating vs. burning.

Still all the doctors/nutritionists in the world will tell you a 1 - 2lbs loss per week is preferred as that is the healthy way to do it and easier to keep off.

Have a great week and maybe try to cut down on the eating out and see what the scale says at the end of the week.

Cheers, Tamara

Default Tuesday Blues?

Hi all:

I got these fab blueberries at the farmers market and they are the best I have ever eaten. I have had them twice today! Yum!

Edzard: great job with the weight loss! I know--when I have a good scale reading I sometimes get on and off the scale too--just to make sure. Keep up the good work.

helpmelose: congrats on your weight los--great job! Goodluck with your goals and with your eating plan. I know it can be hard to make up your mind sometimes. I did atkins too a coupla years ago and I liked it but am losing much faster on my current plan.

Nina: great job on getting on those three pounds--you go girl! It feels great to be motivated, huh? I am rooting for you to break that 150 lb marker. I am hoping to lose at least 1 lb this week which will make me at 30 lbs down.

Just for me: thanks for checking in even tho you just started. It is really great for your motivation to just keep us posted on how things are going.

chunkyb: it sounds like you are kinda eating a lot at one meal and then not so much at another. sometimes that can screw up weight loss. The same with exercise--it is better to have a consistent daily routine where your metabolism gets revved than to do a lot of exercise one day and then not so much the next. Plus japanese food is high in sodium which may make you stall. Someone suggested journaling, that is a good idea. Or maybe try Fitday and plan your meals the night before so you are not eating on impulse so much as having a plan!

strawberry: hang in there! You can do it! If you have been eating right the loss will come--on your body's schedule, not yours. I have often had a great week and then I dont lose etc. Getting through that is really tough, but giving up will hurt more in the long run. Dont quit! How about a round of motivational reasons for you to keep going?

eevey: condolences on your recent troubles. I know how hard that can be. You should try to eat something because when your appetite comes back your body will be all starved. How about a fruit smoothie whith some protein powder? Or drinking some milk? Or frozen yogurt--something easy to eat. Hang in there and keep letting us know how you are doing.

Have a great day, everyone!

Sno

Goodmorning everyone,

Chunky Banana sorry you've hit a plateau so to speak. You could try mixing things up abit. Add more protein to your meals, cut the carbs abit, try small frequent meals. Sometimes long periods of exercise can put metabolism in to conservation mod. This happens to me when I do more than 40 mins of intense cardio. i try and make half my workouts some form of resistance training because muscle is very metabolically active. Burns cals even when resting.

Eevey sorry about the BF situation but you've got to remember to take care of yourself and your worth it. You'll be starving and goin in the other direction if your not careful so eat a little someting with protein in it and I bet you'll feel a little better.

Strawberry hang in there. The scale does that to all of us sometimes. Sometimes not knowing is a good thing because nothing like a depressing scale to make you want to give up. If it's hot you could retain fluid until you relax and cool off. It's your bodies natural reaction especially if your breastfeeding. Hang in there!!!!

I'm all over the ice lately and really need to set my motivation into overdrive to make my final goal. I find I'm so busy right now that I'm not taking the time to eat properly and this always backfires. I'm full of good intentions in the morning and then get so busy I forget to eat and by the time I'm done for the day I'm starving and have no will power. So today I will eat small frequent meals to avoid the evening binge. Exercise has been pretty good lately.
Hope you all have a great day,

Nina

Hey everyone.

I've been on a bit of a hiatus this week becuase it was my prom and afterwards I went to a cottage with my friends. I'm not going to even pretend that I tried to control my eating while I was away. It was absolutly horrible. But the good news is that at weigh in yesterday I hadn't gained weight. I'm really frustrated that I have lost all of my motivation. I seem to have just given up. I'm trying to motivate myself to at least eat healthier, but even that is a challenge. I am promising myself a nice day of helthy eating and a run. Hopefully I'll actually do it!
