  • Check in for July challenge: completed 100 crunches/situps, and 30 minutes on treadmill. I feel great today and can't wait to see myself in 31 days!!

I hope everyone else is off to a great start!!

I don't think that my weigh-in tomorrow is going to be great, kinda splurged a little this week with eating out but I am going to kick butt this week!
  • Good morning ladies! Checking in for the week. I'm down one more pound. That makes 11 pounds down for the Labor Day challenge.

As far as the July challenge, not so good. I forgot about it yesterday! But I've been eating well, I just didn't exercise yesterday. But I'm off right now to walk the dogs, then later get on the treadmill, so I'll be back on track in no time!

Hope you all had a great week and I can't wait to see your weigh-in results!

PS: My one-pound loss puts me under 200, which is cool!
  • Monday 9 weeks to go!
    Hi all:

well we have 9 weeks left in this challenge--time enough to accomplish a lot! Lets do it!

to Catmint for achieving onederland!! I can't wait to be there!!

Well I had these pj's that my friend gave me that are super expensive and they were one of my incentive clothings. Anyway I was trying them on yesterday and I noticed they were dry clean only! As if! No way am I going to dry clean a pair of pjs. I like to wear pjs once and then wash them. Anyway--just had to gripe.

Yesterday was our first day of the July challenge! Hope everyone had a fantastic successful day! I did--I was really hungry tho--I ended up drinking a lot of water to keep the hungries away.

So I am 1/1 so far. And lost a pound this week so I broke the 30 lb barrier in my total weight loss! yippee!

Have a wonderful day everyone! Cant wait to hear how everyone is doing!

  • Well I am bummed my scale says I am up a pound this week and I blame camping. I know my 2 days were higher end for calories but I think the main problem was the Wheat I had to eat (ok ok chose to eat) I am sensitive to wheat and I have a tendancy to retain water really really bad and to get a bloated stomach and lots of other stuff. So it will take a few days to "recover" from that. I am not going to move my ticker because I am confident that I can be back to the ticker by tomorrow or next day!

As for July goals I am 1/1 on all 3! I walked home from my SIL after visiting yesterday, 2.5 miles! so I got my cardio in Well I learned some things about camping and diet this last weekend and will try to apply it for our next trip, this coming weekend lol. We leave friday and get back tuesday so better planning is required, it didn't help I forgot the salad makings I had bought so this next weekend will be better!

Glad to hear everyone is doing good and have a great 4th of July.
  • Quote: Hey everyone! I haven't written in a while, but anyway I lost 13 pounds this month.. So, I'm happy=) I am getting really tired of grilled chicken, turkey and salad. Does anyone have any suggestions? (I don't eat seafood) I'd appreciate any suggestions you guys have. Thanks!!!
My favourite thing to do for dinner is.. make breakfast! Especially when i'm running low on things in the fridge. I'll either make a smoothie (but often I don't find those too filling) or i'll make a 2egg omelet. I think the reason its one of my favourite things to make is because I find it so filling. I'll use 2 eggs, skim milk, reduced fat cheese and then whatever kind of veggies i have lying around. Instead of topping it with Ketchup i'll use salsa. Honestly out of any healthy meal I make I find this to be the most filling one. Sometimes i'll also make spaghetti, but instead of using real noodles i'll do spaghetti squash. Lettuce wraps can also be a fun way of mixing it up with some ground chicken or turkey. I'll also sometimes make 'pizza' but I use a whole wheat pita as crust and hummus as the pizza sauce. Then i'll spread whatever toppings for vegetables i have plus a tiny bit of refried beans. MMM
  • Snow that is AWESOME that you have lost 30 pounds!! Congrats that is a big accomplishment! I hope to be at my 30 pounds by the end of this challenge.

Checkin for this week I am down another 2.4 pounds - yeah!! I was sssoo excited to see that because a couple days last week I did not do so good with my eating! So total lost to date is: 7.4 pounds. I can't wait for next weeks check in.

For July challenge yesteday was awesome, still have to get todays exercise in but I have plenty of time! I hope everyone has a great week!

Keep Up The Good Work Everyone!

  • Good morning everyone!

I missed weighing in yesterday in favour of sunning myself on my back deck for the Canada Day holiday! LOL I got tons done around the house this weekend and my weigh in is 209.5 (Start 216, total loss to date for challenge 6.5 lbs, 13.5 to go).

I also had my measurements taken at Curves (I was participating in a fitness survey with them) and from June 11 - 30 (9 workouts) I lost 6 lbs and 2 inches! (1/2" bust, 1/2" abdomen and a FULL 1" from my hips!) Wooot! Since I was doing a survey with them I was limited to 3 x 30 minute workouts a week to show what just their recommended schedule can do, but now I can workout every day if I want!

So my July goal is to lose 8 lbs and I'm down 1.5 already (211 to 209.5). Can't wait until Labour Day to see if I can meet my goal! Everyone else is doing fantastic!

    Cheers, Tamara
  • Happy July 3 everyone! I am 2/2 and feeling great. I hope you all dont mind if I cheat a little on the list. Yesterday I weighed myself and I was down 1 pound. Today I weighed myself and I am down 3 more!! I want to take todays weight even tho it is a little later.

Exercise and eating went great today. I went to pick up some jeans I had altered and they fit great! The tailor took about 4 inches off the waist which really made a difference.

Still on a blueberry kick--love them!

I think we are a little light on the forum this week--is everyone doing July 4 stuff?

Tamara: on all your progress--it must feel so good. Before you know it you will be in onederland!

ChunkyB: that doesnt sound too bad--at least all you had was the cheese sticks! If you had to do it again, is there anything else you could have ordered that would have been more in keeping with your plan? Like a salad?

Just for me: on your success. I know you feel great and must be really motivated!

Lekhika: I know you can do it! Congrats on that great workout! Going anywhere cool on your vacation?

Helpmelose: on your loss--great job also in being on track for the july challenge! Keep up the great work!

Edzard: good job on not letting the numbers get you down. Being bloated can really make the scale flare up!! Congrats on a great start with the July challenge--before you know it we will be 31/31!!

Elegant: good to hear about what you are eating--I am always interested in that! Sounds pretty healthy.

    everyone!
  • Yeah another good day. I met all of my July challenge goals. It feels really good to be headed in the right direction. I feel great and I even got out some smaller size jeans that I am going to try to get into by the end of the month, I want to lose a size or 2 in 30 days!

Snow - That is awesome that you had to get 4 inches taken off the waist! Congrats!! Keep up the great work.

Have great 4th of July everyone!!!
  • Yeah, July 3rd was a bust....as far as exercise goes. I had lots of errands, did those ate moderately until we went out again to take advantage of the huge toysrus and ikea sales.....

We ate at ikea and though I moderated myself and didn't go for my usual meatballs with cream sauce (yum!) I ate salmon...which is superfatty...but it was poached and I ate it with steamed veggies. I was feeling pretty good about myself and stole a good 10 french fries off my daughter's plate but...when we got downstairs I looked at how much that portion of salmon cost me....130 worth of FAT calories! I had NO IDEA salmon was THAT fatty a fish. I wonder if going for the fried option in this case may have been better....yeah yeah, I know good fat but...gosh....I'm staying pretty low fat and that totally busted my low fat diet open.

So...today's another day. I'm trying not to beat myself up too much about it. I will exercise today and take care of the house chores looming ahead.
