Ok I am SUPER DUPER psyched! 3.5 pounds down!! Woot 10.5 down 4.5 to go!! Actually if I can keep this kind of loss (or even close to it like ummm 1.5 pounds a week) then maybe I can make my dream goal of 20 pounds loss. Either way I am in heaven!!

I only want to reach the 20 pounds because the 15th our Y membership is back again and I would love to have lost 20 pounds before starting up more exercising and weight lifting. I have done lots of exercise with some cal watching before but I think I went at it so intense that I made my weight just freeze. I was for 8 weeks doing 45-60 min. 3x a week cardio (trying to get myself almost jogging and definatley out of breath) and weight lifting for half an hour on those days. In the 6 weeks I gained 4 pounds! Ugh, no inches lost either, no change in clothes. The "trainers" there were like, um but these changes are good and you should keep trying. Let me tell you after 8 weeks I basically gave up! But this time around I am trying to do it right! I think I will ramp up the exercise slowly and that way I can use increasing it as a way to keep from any big plautea's (lol the best laid plans).

Anyway congrats sounds like everyone is doing well! Oh and I am seriously thinking of changing my goal to 140 because that seems more reasonable for my height and all, what do you all think? The only reason I didn't at the start was the nagging feeling that this too would fail no matter how hard I tried. I think some of my success this time is due to no artifical stuff, counting calories closely and no wheat products, I am sensitive and its made a big difference the last week and half to never cheat that.

I want to see 18(?) next week!!!!

Default Monday 6 weeks to go!

Good morning everyone!

Well I am pretty happy--lost another two pounds in the last week which puts me at one pound away from 40! Another milestone soon!

Had a rest day from exercise yesterday--I find it is really helpful to have one day where I dont do much. I did do my stretches and two short walks with the dog.

It is overcast today which is a welcome relief from the blazing sun of the last several weeks. I think I will spray my roses.

Edzard: you are doing great! Yeah--I know the weight lifting initially changes the fat to muscle and it seems like you are gaining but in fact muscle burn more fat than fat so in the long run you would lose more with the weights. As for your weight goal--I have thought I would change my goal too but I think I really want to go on how I look, not the numbers. so we'll see. I think 164 is a healthy weight for me but who knows--if I like how I look and feel at 170 why diet down just for the numbers? Plus the lower I go the harder to maintain the loss.

Lekhika: good luck with that weigh in--I know it is hard after being off plan but sometimes it is better just to get it over with too

Elegant: you must feel really good! It is really a great feeling to make our goals--much more lasting than the brief buzz of eating rich foods. You have almost two weeks til your vacation and your goal of three pounds is do-able!

the next Challenge will be the

Have yourself a merry little Christmas Challenge!

I think it is 16 or 17 weeks until Christmas from Labor Day--so I hope everyone is signing up!! Even if you are maintaining it is good to get support while you do it!

Oh yeah...that's going to be something I'm totally going to join. I am hoping to be at my goal weight by the time New Year's Eve 2007 rolls around...and the X'mas challange is perfect to help me edge there!

Can't wait but I can hardly believe that just a little over a month it's already going to be the end of this challange!

Very cool, now I can spend the next month or so thinking about what kind of goals I want to set for Christmas. Help get me thru holiday eating! Although avoiding wheat does make it easier! Hmm something to mull over.........

Well my weigh in this week was not good - 166, so I am up almost 2 pounds. So my total weight loss is only 6 now! But I am optimistic this next weigh in is going to be AWESOME!!! well it better be. LOL

Congrats to those who lost weight - that is awesome!!

I am also VERY interested in the Christmas challenge! That sounds like fun.

ALL The veggies and get your meats in.. he wants to to stay on this phase until you have went 15days on it or have lost 15 lbs.. then onto phase 2... where you can have your protein still unlimited friuts and veggies.. and 2 servings of carbs a day... so its gonna be ruff the next few days but im amped!... 2 day i worked out had 1 banana.. 20 grapes.. 1 LARGE grilled chicken salad! and all my water intake.. working out tomaro

Well, sorry I missed monday's weigh-in...but it was uneventful. I didn't lose or gain anything this week. So, I guess that is still good. I was sooo good last week too! But, I'm not giving up. I won't this time. I move in a month from cincinnati to tucson for a job. HOT weather... MUST wear shorts. I WILL get there! I want to lose at least 10 more pounds by then. The pace of my weight loss has slowed so I don't know if I'll lose another 21 by labor day.. but anything can happen. I am definitely in for the christmas challenge. I feel that you guys are sooo much help to keep me motivated. I'm not weighing myself everyday and obsessing over it anymore. I have made lifestyle changes and now I'm just waiting for my body to adjust physically. It'll happen with time. Oh by the way, my mother was curious about her weight and got on the scale. She weighs 110lbs! She's so tiny. Why didn't I get her genes? My father ways 450lbs... guess where I get it from. I cannot wait to get healthier. PLUS I want to look great in a mini skirt=) Haha.. I can't do that, I'm married, but still it would be great. Sorry for the rambling but I was bored. I'm going to kick it into high gear for the next few days and get some more lbs off by next monday. I can't go another week with no change=(
Well, talk to you all later!

Default I'm Baaaaack!

Hello all!

I had an absolutely terrific holiday. Kansas City was hot, hot, hot and my sister's wedding (outdoors) was absolutely beautiful despite the fact that we were all melting. I didn't stay 100% on plan but I did fairly well and still managed to get to 206! I couldn't believe it when I got home and weighed (didn't weigh for the whole 10 days I was gone). So I'm still down 11 lbs for the LD challenge but I'm not sure if I'll make the 8 lbs for July's mini challenge. Maybe, as it's still a week away and I'd need to lose 3 lbs by the 31st. I suppose it's doable, but we'll see.

Labour Day goal - 196 (or Aug 31...couple of days leeway)
July 31 goal - 203 (3 lbs to go in 6 days )

I hope everyone is doing great, feeling good and keeping up with their goals.

Cheers, Tamara

Default Wonderful Wednesday

Okay today is my 94th day on Nurtisystem and I have kept on plan 92 days. I get tempted--expecially when I see a big bowl of cherries and I had all my fruit for the day and I want just one! But I know where that slippery slope leads and frankly I am too happy and excited about my weight loss so far that I just cant sabotage! It is a great feeling.

I cant weight to get below 220--it will be a milestone for me--havent been there since almost 8 years! That is my dream goal for july but I know I am pushing it!!

My back is okay--it was my ankle that started acting up during my 45 minute walk yesterday. So I stopped at 40. Things are bound to be a little achy now that I am increasing my exercise.

I've been thinking about changing the Christmas challenge to the:

New Year Challenge

--that way those who dont do christmas will be included and we will get 17 weeks from Labor day to new years--what do you all think?

Barb: those milestone are so encouraging! Good job on keeping it up!

Helpmelose: Keep going--sometimes after a gain we then lose a bunch so dont give up!

sock, Neesy, Lekhika and Edzard--I look forward to losing with you to the end of the year--you all are so helpful and positive!

ChunkyB: of course--you werent even off the list. I think it is great that you came back--that is what matters--after all you could have just given up but your didnt! That diet you are going on sounds great--keep us posted on how it goes!

Tamara: fantastic job--you inspire me to lose weight on vacation! that is really good. Maybe the hot weather helped?

Have wonderful day all and lets keep the losing going!!
