My weight has stayed the same since saturday.. usually I knock off 3lbs a week. I stopped going to the gym because I have a new puppy and don't want to leave her home alone yet... haha, just like a baby. I've been doing exercises at home but it's not the same. I need to talk my husband into getting a cage for her, but he just won't do it. He works all day and by the time he gets home.. the gym is closed! I'll figure something out. I feel so tired if I don't go to the gym. I cannot wait to be in onederland. I may be moving to arizona.. so I need to be in shape so I can wear shorts! Well, sorry for the rambling! Hopefully, I'll knock a few pounds off over the weekend. Good luck to everyone!

By the way, if any of you have a myspace page.. check mine out and add me as a friend=)

Default Friday!

Well today we are a little more than halfway through our 12th week! We still have 6.5 weeks to go right? We can do a lot!

I decided to do some more exercise to keep my weight loss up. I did 50 minutes aerobic and 40 minutes of calisthenics ad stretching yesterday. I think I will alternate harder and easier days.

Neesy: yeah--we crated our dog when she was young to potty train her and she loves her crate as her own personal space. We wouldnt leave her home all day in the crate tho--only at night. Good luck over the weekend getting those extra lbs off--make sure to drink lotsa water!

Lehkika: glad you are back--dont worry about the scale--vacation weight gain comes of quickly!

have a great day!

Don't worry Lekhika! I am sure any excess pounds will melt away for you!

Neesy I would sugest a crate also, or a small room like a bathroom that is puppy proofed LOL. It sounds like you would just be leaving the puppy there while you exercise, correct? I think an hour or two would be fine. I had to crate mine for 4 hours at a time last semester because of the way my classes worked out.

Sno how do you do so much exercise!!! Putting me to shame girl!

Default Exercise!

Hi Sock:

crate training for dogs is great, huh?

Well I dont think I exercise that much when I hear about people spending hours at the gym. But I did have to work up slowly because I sprained both ankles and injured my knee over the last two years. One of my reasons for having to lose weight--I fall so hard it hurts like ****!

Anyway, I started physical therapy in February. At that time I coudl only walk 5 minutes without pain. I was given about 30 minutes of leg exercises to strength my leg muscles and support my knee. Over the next few months I built my walking up till I was at 30 minutes--I was at 15 minutes for a long time.

Over the last two months I have been able to add Hip Hop abs and it doesnt bother my knee. So that is fun. I think it is really a good idea to increase exercise slowly even if you dont have injuries, because doing to much exercise all at once can cause injuries too. So that is why I am increasing my exercise to aerobic 50 minutes and adding 10 minutes to leg exercises every other day.

Okay--sorry about the very long answer!

Have a great day all!

I think crate training is good for puppies, if it isn't abused..I would never consider leaving a puppy 8-10 hours all day in a crate while I was at school or work. A good rule of thumb is that they can stay in the crate tolerably for one hour, plus another hour for each month of age...For example you have a two month old puppy, you should be able to leave them in the crate for 3 hours. Now both of my dogs are out of their chewing stages, I leave them in the master bathroom (it's huge lol) so they have room to run and play, but could cause little damage to the house if a destructive mood hit them. I try to never leave them for more than 4 hours at a time. If I have school, I make sure to schedule a lunch break so I can atleast run home and let them outside for 30 minutes or so. Bleh let me stop before I turn this into a 3 page puppy ramble LOL. I tend to get that way when it comes to the furbaby subject.

Great job on your exercise! That's so wonderful that you have been able to overcome your injury and gain so much endurance!

we did something similar with our dog--now that she is an adult we built a kennel for her outside--but she wont go potty in there. So she mostly stays in the house when we are gone--she likes that better. She has never touched our things or trashed anything or had accidents.

I am not sure if she would mess up if she could access the trash can but we keep it under the sink.

Ok, I couldn't gather up the nerve to step on my scale. So I decided to keep up my hard cardio daily and do my weigh in on the 28th..which is the day prior to our annual bbq!

This year's theme is The Mediterranean....we're doing souvlaki, gyros, fallafel, roasted veggies....yum. THe great thing about grilling is that even though there's more food eaten, it tends to be more clean...

Anyway, I am really hoping to be below 120 by then...so here goes nothing but crazy exercising....I feel like a spaz for being all lax for the week before vacation because I could have been at a much better position to be below 120 by the end of the month....oh well....

the process...it's all about the process so I keep on trucking...

My official weigh in isn't until sunday, but i'm down to 144. That's two pounds this week! So i'm pretty happy. I'm 10 pounds shy of my labour day goal. 3 pounds shy of my goal of an 8 pound loss for july. I'm pretty happy. I even went to the bar tonight, and while all my friends drank I chose to chew gum instead. My b/f has to work tomorrow (a rareity for a saturday) so i'm going to take advantage by cleaning my place (I do squats and lunges while cleaning, it looks ridiculous, but work my butt!) and then i'm going to try out the Power90 dvd. I found it at a used dvd store for 8 bucks, I figured I couldn't go wrong. I hope everyone has a good weekend, i'll let you know what happens on the official weigh in.

Default Saturday!

Hi all!

So far 20/21 on the July mini challenge--how about the rest of you?

I was going to walk today and do an exercise video but my back was acting up so I walked for 50 minutes instead. I just finished icing my back, but it still feels like I pulled a muscle but it felt fine yesterday and I really didnt do anything--just had my 30 minute walk yesterday. Oh, well--it isnt too bad so hopefully the walk will help it. I also did my leg exercises.

Yesterday I splurged and got a bunch of spa medica skincare products on E-bay--really good deals!

I have been lax and have been gardening and exercising in a tank top so I am getting deeply tanned. I started wearing long sleeves, sunscreen and a hat. I think the sunscreen is making me break out, tho.

Lekhika: I understand scale fear--sometimes I think I should just forget about the scale and use my measurements as a gauge for how much I lose--especially when the weight yo-yos. I agree about exercise--definitely the key to getting fit and healthy!

Elegant: good job at the bar! those drinks can really bloat you up! I used to get club soda with about 8 limes and it was really good! Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow--you already have a head start so its gotta be good!

My official weigh in is 196.4! That means I am 11 pounds down, 16 left to go on this challenge, and still 5 pounds away from my July goal.

So, my official weigh in was 143. I lost another 3 pounds this week Nice after the no loss week prior. 6 pounds down, 2 shy of my july goal. I'm tremendously happy. If I can get down to 140 for my vacation i'll be even happier (Friday August 3rd). I went out last night and saw some friends I haven't seen in about two months, everyone kept calling me tiny and skinny. It felt good. I'm now getting quite close to my goal weight, so i'm prepared for the losses to be even more slow to come off. But i'm okay with that. I hope you all had a great weekend just like mine!

Wow!! Elegant Departure Your loss rocks! That's so freaking awesome!! I am super happy for you, and I must day, a wee bit envious! You must feel awesome!

Sockmonkey! Congrats on your loss too!!

I'm still in living fear of the scale and won't be weighing in until next Friday! Hope I'll be happy with what I see then....even if I'm not happy with the results on the scale, I suppose it's enough knowing that my body is getting stronger and my spirit happier!

Later girls!
