Well I had a great day yesterday, drank my water, ate healthy, got in my exercise and didn't eat after 7:00pm......yahhhh for me, just need to keep it up. Not feeling very motivated today after only get 2 hours of sleep last night with an unsettled baby. Really going to have to push myself to get in the exercise I am sure.

Uh oh baby crying........will be back with personals soon.

Default Tuesday!

Hi all!

great to hear from everybody--this challenge is jumping!

to Neesy! There is some great stuff on the maintainers board that I read to keep me in the framework of lifetime maintenance, as opposed to the yo-yo deal that I have been doing forever! Good luck and let us know how much you plan to lose by Labor day--it is 10 weeks and 6 days away!

Had a good day yesterday--still kinda hungry but managing. My hubby is on a diet with me but he doesnt stick to it strictly like me. I have to watch it because I make comments to him about what he is eating--and I hate that!

Got some writing done yesterday which has been my personal goal to get to. That feels good.

So I am 18/18 so far and ready to lose!

eevey: good determination--after all it is only 1 lb so you didnt do too bad. Just keep trying and posting your goals and it will all come together. It also helps to post the reasons why you want to lose.

Bridget: you are doing great--I think you and I are the only ones who are still doing the June minichallenge but that is okay--it feels motivating to post the numbers, huh?

edzard: great job in keeping track on fitday. It can be really helpful. Could you please post how much you have lost so far on this challenge? Thanks!

strawberry: I know it is really hard to diet when you are nursing. Good for you that you keep trying and keep posting your obstacles--that will help you build motivation for the long run!

kt: Hang in there and keep posting--try to post your reasons for wanting to lose, that will help!

helpmelose: Nice motivation shift--sometimes it takes going off plan and gaining the weight to really make it happen!

Barb: way to go--we knew you could do it! It seems like having a moment of despair will create the motivation to really change things. Keep letting us know how you are doing!

Cuppa:

dcapulet: You can do it! We are rooting for you!

Saboteur: Its hard to do on not much sleep--good for you for taking care of yourself!

Have a great day and

I feel so bad for not keeping up with the posts. I just keep having on weeks and off weeks. Last week was horrible at eating although I did keep up with the exercise. So far this week has been great with the eating. Now if I can just keep it up. One thing I need to do is keep bringing healthy lunches to work to eat. When we go out for lunch it all seems to go downhill. I had mexican food three times last week...not good! It is so great to see everyone doing so good. You girls are my motivation to keep on track!

My reasons for gaining a healthy weight for pregnancy!
1. Keep healthy for the baby
2. Make recovery after the birth that much easier
3. My sanity that I won't gain a tremendous amount of weight

Hi Everyone! I know it is a little late to join this challenge, but after reading all of the supportive comments, I knew this was something I wanted to try. Currently I am 27 and have three children(4,3, and 2) who keep me busy enough during the day. I have been struggling with my weight for my entire life, finally I have commited myself to doing something for me and I will do my best to lose this weight and keep it off. Not only for me, but so my kids will grow up with healthy eating habits that they can carry with them through their lives.
I would like to lose 25lbs by labor day.

My reasons for losing weight:

1) To feel good about myself
2) To look HOT!!
3) To help keep diseases away
4) Be Healthy
5) To fit into all the cute clothes that I love and look good in them!
6) To meet a man
7) Help my self esteem and confidence

my list could go on and on!

Today has been a pretty good day for me I didn't over eat and I am going to have a healthy dinner and get some exercise in! I hope everyone else is doing good!

went to the doctor yesterday. blood pressure still high. i gained 18 pounds since my last visit in february, what a wake up call. i have lost 5 pounds since i started posting with yall. i can't believe i have let myself gain about twenty lbs in four months. i need to look at it this way, better stop the gaining now rather than two months going by and having to lose more.

i am not making excuses because there is none. i am ready to get my life in order. i am ready to finalize my divorce from a lying, hateful and selfish man and go on with my life a better person inside and out.

i remember how it feels to be thin, feeling attractive, sexy and confident and i have come to realize for me that feeling felt better than any food could taste.
i have abused food for to long and i am sick of the way it makes me feel. i'd rather receive compliments and have the confidence than enjoy the taste of food. i want to start eating to live not living to eat.

i love seeing yall lose the weight, 40 before 40,eevey and the rest of you strong women. seeing your weight going down ensures me that i can do it and i will.

Morning everyone!

Just thought I would check in as I am trying to talk myself out of getting on the treadmill. Having a hard time getting up so darn early with little sleep thanks to my little guys - but I realize I have to start valueing myself as much as I say I do.

They say it takes 21 days to develop a habit - well 3 days down and 18 to go Eating healthy is OK for me when I am at home as I have overhauled my fridge, but since I am a pharmaceutical sales rep I am constantly faced with unhealthy foods at my lunch appointments. My goal is to eat moderately and somewhat healthy at lunch and eat mainly vegetable and a lean portion of protein in the evening. Hopefully that will help maintain my sanity while I watch everyone at lunch eating sinfully good foods!

Some of my reasons for losing weight are...
1) To be healthy
2) To keep up with my kids
3) To be able to fit into my closet of clothes again
4) To feel confident
5) Because I should develop this habit of health now before I begin to increase in age, menopause, retirement, etc. (yeah I know its a long way off but I figure no time like the present)

Great job to all those who are losing this week and maintaining their exercise goals! Off I go to the dungeon to torture myself on the treadmill before my kids wake up

Well yesterday was another good day food wise. I did treat myself to a cookie, but it was planned. I was hard to only eat one and put the package back in the pantry. Everyone keep up the great work!

Default some good advice!

"All or Nothing

There’s actually a lot of wisdom to the notion that a weight loss program is as much about the journey as it is the destination. Sure you want to lose weight, but the reality is that it doesn’t happen all at once. If you start setting yourself up for perfection (another way to define all or nothing thinking), at some point, you might just go off track…

Maybe you can’t resist a hot dog (or two) at the game. You’ve always been a sucker for buttered popcorn at the movies. You have a drink (okay, three) at your high school reunion.

Whatever your weakness, it’ll probably surface at least once while you’re trying to lose weight. What’s really important is what happens next.

Here’s why: you get a little off track. Then your head starts saying stuff like, “you can’t really do this; it’s obviously not gonna work for you…” Next thing you know, you’ve completely given up. That’s all or nothing behavior.

Before things get to that point, wait! If you’ve wandered a little bit, all you’ve got to do is get back on track and keep on trying.

That’s success!"

I totally agree Snowbrocade (love your name btw).

Some days I do stray off track, be it with exercise or with eating an inordinate amount of fatty/fried/salty food...but....the trick is to just pick up and do better with your next meal, and the meal after that.....

I think that's really how people who get thin stay thin....they learn that it's about the long term. One bad meal or drink (s) won't ruin the entire plan.

I am feeling very lethargic lately and it's doing a number on my otherwise habitual exercise plan. I just need to get on that tread mill and GO!
