Lori, you and I can burn our scales together. In the street, and we'll have music and beer and a party while our scales scream for help from the flames.
I got on Monday in the PM and it seemed like I had dropped about a pound, which would have been correct, but then I got on Tuesday afternoon after my workout and I had gone up 3 pounds. Oh, delight.
I must remember: once a week, on Monday morning. This is silliness!
Im with ya...im going to challenge myself to not weigh in until my official WI day,sunday morning. Oh and i plan on getting that yoga dvd soon,thanks for your comments on it. Think i will go with Rodney Yee's beginner first,then on to something more advanced( i need to know the correct form in all the poses)
Lori-Great way of thinking...hugs! My kids started back tuesday with a 2hr delay...im just glad there back in school. I can breath agian,LOL. Love my kids but mommy needs here time alone...LOL

julesp313~good idea with the scale...I have tried that before and always get back on it after a day or too~BUT I AM A SCALE ADDICT LOL.But I know exactly how ya feel Wanting to not worry about numbers for awhile. I Am so hoping your scale idea works...Keep us posted.Sounds like it is though already~I was a mess the first day without mine. HUGS!

Well...My hubby got me a ring for our anniversary..Which is actually not until Febuary 25th 2010 So it's early but We thought since they only carried size 7's in rings we would have to order a size change so We went to pick it out early anyways...I was suprised to learn I could actually wear a size 7 now On my right ring finger...LOL~I Guess I was thinking I was still in a size 9 for some reason...Anyways he got me a lovely ring.This will be our 17th Year of marriage...& the first time we was able to afford a nice gift....Cause we are usually flooded in bills in the winter from heating expenses.Now I gotta get him something...Maybe something musical...He plays bass & guitar.
Who knows~Men are hard to buy for....Heck maybe I will wrap myself in a bow for him~ ~LOL~

today is officially one month till our challenge is over!
i'm very excited and it is pushing me. this is my first challenge! as soon as valentines is over hopefully we can do a st. pats challenge! it seems to help me with having a mini goal. i am only 6 pounds now from my valentines goal and still have a month! so i will be very happy to get to valentines day and hopefully be under my goal!! keep pushing ladies!! we can do this!!
Thanks Lori and Misspriss for the encouragement. It made my day. I want to get sexy to hopefully go wedding dress shopping soon. My bf wants to propose and has had me pick out a ring (just to get an idea he said). He wanted to by the time I graduate. We will see! (he's good at surprising me)

Yesterday I didn't have time to pack my lunch in the morning for school, so right by the engineering building is a Jimmy Johns....not so good. I got a #5 Vito...ummm 600 calories! But I walk all over campus as much as possible and walked as many stairs as I could find. One of the guys in my group wanted to take the elevator but I forced him to take the stairs...hehe. Still I'm trying to work on getting snacks prepared for school, it's easy with vending machines and even just getting Cheezits is 280 calories. I wish they had better options.
The bf now is crazy on board with losing weight and calorie counting. Which is great when it comes to making dinners for the two of us. He's not all about chips and salsa..that's his weekness...mexican food. Mine too right now. I'm having major cravings. Today's a new day. I may post later before class tonight. Salsa's not so bad for you, and it's got lots of tasty veggies... If I needed a chips and salsa fix I'd recommend my tasty new breakfast idea: 1 egg (cooked however you want) with 1/3 cup brown rice, 2 TBS salsa of your choice, and 1 whole wheat tortilla (110 calories per serving). Makes for a delicious, filling, fiber filled and protein filled breakfast. And it's about 300 calories.
The only thing it could want is more veggies!
Things are going good, went jogging yesterday AM in the morning. Today I've got an exercise program at work, and then I'll go home and maybe go for another light jog. We'll see.

The dancing ladies - I am HORRIBLE at dancing. I have tried a bellydance cardio routine, and - wow. I imagine I looked like someone having some kind of health crisis, rather than a lady exercising. But, I am doing it every now and again because it challenges my body in a completely new way, and that can't be bad, right? I have to lock the doors tight when I do my "stripper-aerobics" though, because hubs is quite interested.
My eating was on point yesterday, and I got in an hour of yoga. We walked on Tuesday for some cardio, but now we have rain for, like, 10 years straight. OK, OK, 3 days. 3 LOOOONG days. Monday and Tuesday before the walk, I banged out my weight work on my legs, core and arms. Again today, and then maybe some of that cardio-bellydance...
OK - I have to confess: I got back on that stupid scale. And it was down to 189. So I was happy. Then I realized I was only happy because it had gone down, and I'd still be hopping on and off it like a rabbit if it had stayed put or gone up more.
I just CANNOT behave with that scale lately.
uscarchie: I make the same breakfast and it's awesome! only I don't use the brown rice. I love your idea. I make a fresh salsa (my bf and I got a magic bullet for xmas) then i chop up tomatoes, mushrooms, cilantro, onion, hot pepper and green pepper (only about a 1/2 cup worth of stuff), grill in in a pan using cooking spray, then add one egg. Top with 1/4 cup cheese and wrap it up in a whole wheat tortilla (I like La tortilla factory, it's 80 calories and 12 grams of fiber) and add my homemade salsa. It's great to fill me up for 250 calories. I might take your advice and add brown rice that sounds really good. It will get my mexican cravings fix. I have to force myself to eat bkfst because I"m more of a coffee person and late lunch.
I think salsa is good for you, but my bf doesn't measure out, so one day I secretly measured out how much he consumed in one sitting and for a snack he takes in over 500 calories in just chips and salsa. He's more aware now and make better decisions.
Lori: is there anyway you can take out the battery again and reset it. Maybe it will go back to how it was before. Take the battery out for one day and then pop it back in and see if it resets. Just an idea, and if it totally fails........I was just kidding...lol
thundahthighs: Awesome job on the workouts! love the belly dancing one. Oh BTW....i'm interested in the stripper workout. I've always wanted to do that, workout, not stripp lol. Is it a video or something online or class? thanks!
jdonato - I've tried a burlesque routine, some bellydance, and I refer to all of it as stripper-aerobics. I think there are actual routines based around a pole, which seem like a really great workout, but, um - I'm not installing a pole in my living room. Peer pressure, ya'know, my friends would call social services on me, I'm fairly sure. I have tried the Shimmy show on FitTV, and one called CardioBurlesque, and - ha, I got the bellydance from Netflix and have forgotten the name. I have one Q'd, called Bellydance Fitness. It promises to be... interesting. I just thinking completely shocking my body with strange new gyrations will help me lose weight.
Thanks thundah i'll have to look those up. You are right about changing up moves to get your body for more weight loss. I did a class at school where the trainer switch everyother day with stepper one day, yoga the next and kickboxing the following. It really helped me lose the weight and plus i had so much more energy when my muscles were challenged different days. I just have to get back on track with working out.....honestly i'm focusing on my eating but no working out. I have to find my motivation. Keep up the good work!
I'm off to class, I hope everyone has a great night. I'll be packing snacks for tonight...these classes are really boring and i tend to go to the vending machine for more energy.

I just wanted to check in and say I met my goal. A WHOLE month early! Gonna see how much I can bust it by Next week is vacation and my goal for that is to just maintain.
I've just skimmed bc I am slammed at work, but to everyone on the dancing thing - I truly suck. I tried another one this morning, tripped over the kitten, banged a knee on the coffee table, and then fell over my left foot. Don't even ask - and that was three separate incidents! From now on, I shall stick to kickboxing or bootcamp type videos. Hopefully I won't be the walking wounded from them!
AND - I am still in scale avoidance mode. I am on plan with my food - that's four days now - and have worked out every day. And I feel a lot better, mentally and physically. I am actually looking forward to weighing in on Saturday. Used to be Sunday but I am going to have a "high" day on Saturdays to do the zig zag thingy, so I'd rather weigh before that!
I am haunting this place today, ladies!
Did 20 minutes of core work, then 30 minutes on the lower body.
I was BEGGING for the last 2 reps on my second set of front lunges. BEGGING!
I did them with hand weights...
Then 15 of deliciously gentle yoga. Ahhhhhh...

Aiesline~good idea with the snacks...As far as motivation just look at peoples before & after pics on here & Maybe that will help~was quite the motivator to me. If it doesn't work though I cross my fingers you will find something that helps with that area.

Well...Hope everyone is doing well. I am thrilled my scale finally changed some to the 166.6 ~Which as I said above makes me think it was Satan Scale since it has totally picked with me since that battery change...But any loss on it is super. I am hoping to see ticker weight again soon or less cause I am still on plan & just 16 freaking pounds from my original main goal!!!!!!
Still satisfied with where I am though regardless.
