Okay, after last week's frustration with the scale not moving- I ignored it for 3 days, ran a 5K, played softball, and got on this morning to a 3# loss! SCORE!

Now, I did watch my calorie counts all weekend and I'm doing okay! I had one high day, but I think I estimated high because we had dim sum and I had NO idea how to count that.

So maybe I was okay. Who knows. I don't really want to ask what was in my Chinese food.

Today, ran 3 miles. Tonight, Cardio Power and Resistance! Must keep up the good work!

misspriss - I'm so sorry to hear about your doggy! I am certain he had a happy life with you!
I am doing the intermediate Rodney Yee Yoga Burn workout right now. I started yoga about 3 years ago, and I used Namaste Yoga on FitTV to get started. I was quite heavy and out of shape, and it was a great starting point. I have a 15 minute morning routine by Rodney Yee described as a beginner routine, but it's not really exercise - just a wake-up routine. Try the intermediate. At first I wasn't doing the full expression of any of the poses, but after a while I started to realize how I could make the moves and poses more effective, and it's really easy and natural to progress at your own pace. If you try it, let me know how you like it!!

Howdy to everyone else!

I'm a little glum this morning, as the scale showed no change. I am toying with the idea of asking hubs for one of those fancy digital scales that would at least show me the .25lbs I HAD to have lost - but I think requesting a $50 item for vanity should be a habit I don't begin to get into.
I wound up with about 7 hours and 15 minutes of exercise last week. I did a TON of free weights and bodyweight exercises. I will keep it up this week - lots of free weights and things like squats and lunges, and since the weather has warmed up, maybe we'll get back into the swing of things with our evening walks.

I did take body measurements, so I can keep track of my progress even if my weight stops dropping. I'm staying at 1550 calories per day, as by my math, that, with the exercise, should allow me to drop about a pound to a pound and a half weekly.
I may weight again tomorrow, as I had half a beer, wine, and some chips and salsa as well as an entire turkey sammie yesterday, and I'm wondering if that's sticking to me. Today - a tidy bowl of cheerios this morning, due to headache I opted not to fix anything fancy, and a bowl of oats and skim milk just now for lunch. Shortly, I'll have some turkey or peanut butter or something as well. Salmon and red rice planned for dinner. And brocollini, yum.

As I've said a couple times this past week, the scale is my friend this week! lol I'm at another NEW LOW and a 2.4lb loss for this week...184.8 I only saw that 183.4 on Saturday, but have been 184.8 both yesterday & today...this challenge goal is really looking attainable!!! only 2.6lbs to go!

Since I've never met a goal before, what do I do then? Do I just see how far I can go past it, or do I set a new one??? I only set a goal of 1lb/week since that's all I've been losing pretty much since September. I usually set it slightly aggressive, but was getting discouraged bc I was NEVER meeting goal! Any advice is appreciated

Starting C25K today...

Hi all!

Hmm... starting to count calories again. I had kinda gotten away from that for a while, and things haven't been pretty. I've basically plateaued for the past two months! I am only half a pound down since the beginning of this challenge. I don't know how well I'll do with this one. I think I've joined two other challenges, and actually exceeded those. It would be crushing to not meet with my expectations on this one...

Before this weekend i was 120.8 which I was very happy, 5 weeks left and only 5lbs to lose for my entire goal and Valentines goal. Well I had the bachelorette party and I did good for the most part, but my boyfriend and I went out after with family and..........the rest is history! So when I weighed myself on Monday morning.....125.0! How did i gain 5lbs in 2 days! I didn't panic, well maybe a little in my head, I started counting my calories again and just one day back on track i'm back down to 121.6. Still higher than where I was, but I'll give it 3 days to see if it's really bloat, plus in a few more days my TOM is here...boooooo.

Also stress wise I just started school again. It's my last semester and I graduate this May! I'm excited yet scared like no other. I took 18 credits which is alot but I know I can do it...just going to pull out my hair several times. Plus being stuck on campus on Mondays and Wednesdays then I can work out there. I'm going to start my workout routine now and step it up.

Misspriss.....Sorry about your furry baby. I wish you and your family all the best. I'll pray for you.

Lori....Great attitude! I know your frustrated but way to stay positive. You have come along way and I know you can do it!

Hi everyone!

So I tried some muscle milk lite [100 calories per serving] before and after my workout last night. It made me want to puke. So. Not doing that again. I can use my 100 calories on some delicious protein, not on something that doesn't taste that great anyways.

I'm staying on plan, I'm exercising like a maniac, and I just got some new running shoes. I have the nike + running shoes, so I also got the watch and the sensor. I've got to calibrate them today.

Tomorrow we run for 60 minutes. Gonna be great.

Well, busy season well and truly hit me so I haven't been reading or posting - and I miss it! So, briefly... two days totally on plan, with Exercise TV workouts (they ROCK - and there are a TON to choose from - but note to self, I have no dance ability whatsoever), food has been great but I actually need to eat MORE - I've only had around 1,300 calories each of the last two days and I need closer to 1,600 to have sensible losses. But I think I'll try calorie cycling and have a day with a higher calorie meal - like pasta - to shake things up. But with a 5:30am workout and eating really good, healthy, whole foods, I feel so good. Not stepping on the scale for a week - I need to FEEL better before I worry about the numbers. And so far, so good!

Jules ~ Haha!! I feel the same way about any of the dance workouts on Exercise TV!!!! I was trying to do the "Cardio Groove and Burn" workout the other day and I had to give up about 5 minutes into it because I just could not do it. I was laughing so hard at how awful I was. haha

For me, things have been good so far this week! I have been to the gym both days even though I was kicking and screaming not to go yesterday. I actually almost turned around and went home like three times on my drive there. But I went and got in an hour, so it wasn't too bad. I am going away for the rest of this week/weekend to Canadian Figure Skating National Championships (to watch...haha) and I am so excited!!! I packed some workout stuff because the hotel does have a fitness room, so we'll see how I can be the rest of the week. I know the food will be ok because we usually spend more time watching than eating anyway

I forgot how great calorie counting is. I get to see exactly what I'm eating, and even if I have a bad day, I can still wake up the next morning and keep going. I'm so glad I joined with you guys. I woke up this morning and 119.4! Looks like the weekend didn't hurt that bad afterall, but also my TOM is a week early! So right now i'm dealing with bloating and cramps. No only am I measureing my weight, but also inches. I learned a couple of years ago that even if you aren't losing weight, check inches. I'm really wanting to workout and get into a bikini. It would be 5 years since i've been able to do so.

I'm off the class in a little bit and today is my long day when I'm stuck on campus. I have no desire to pack my lunch, but there is a subway on campus. I know subway can be good but for some reason it doesn't fill me up. I have classes until 9 tonight so I have to figure out snacks too.

I hope everyone has a great day! Keep up the good work. Misspriss I hope you fell better! Drink lots of tea.

Lori, you and I can burn our scales together. In the street, and we'll have music and beer and a party while our scales scream for help from the flames.

I got on Monday in the PM and it seemed like I had dropped about a pound, which would have been correct, but then I got on Tuesday afternoon after my workout and I had gone up 3 pounds. Oh, delight.

I must remember: once a week, on Monday morning. This is silliness!
