Harley- Congratulations on the new nephew~! On the working out thing, I used to go to a place like Curves except in the back room they had recumbent bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, and a Gazelle. I liked doing all that stuff. The machines didnt do much for me either. I worked out there 30-45 mins 4 days a week for a couple of months and didnt lose much in weight or inches. And I'm huge! I should have lost a bunch. I'm really not sure why I didn't. Maybe then my diet wasn't as good as now.

Here in Kansas the stinkin' weather is either sweltering or frigid. Very few days of in betweens. Our fall or spring weather lasts only a short time or so it seems. Since its still winter cold in March we tend to start riding in April or May. By June or July its incredibly hot and I HATE that hot air blowing in my face. Sometimes it can be 70 degrees here on Halloween or sometimes snow on the ground, so it really depends how long we ride until. I remember the first year we bought the bike...dh was so upset b/c it rained for a week straight and it sat in the garage. Then we finally got it out it was so cold we had to wear sweatshirts, hoodies and jeans. And this was in the middle of July!!! Very odd weather here.

Gina- i'm not sure how fast my bike can go, but the mechanic said about 60-70 and that was it, but from what I hear it can take awhile to get to that speed. There's a lady here in town that rides all over on a 50 cc little chopper looking thing. It's tiny. I don't think she shifts it, though. My husband has a name for it, but I'm too girlie (and dingy) and don't know about alot of those terms.

Star- Did you find those workout and eating plans on the site? If not...where there's a pic of Bob and Jillian it has a link that says download trainers plans or something like that. I was wrong about Bob's plans. Jillians is awful. 3 hours of cardio a day! My big butt would be in the E.R. if I did that!

Reb - I couldn't download the plans. But if she says 3 hours a day of cardio, it's just as well left unloaded....lol I'm good with my hour cardio....
What you said about when you went to Curves and not losing. Now that you have changed your diet, adding the exercise you will lose much better. My PT told me, actually 2 different ones told me that our weight is determined by 90% what we eat and 10% exercise...so what your doing now is 100% (give or take a couple weekend nights)......I'm still not really believing that becuz I should be perfect by now...lol

Have you noticed that there are days when you are so crabby, and gosh awful hungry that you'd swear you'de been starving for days? I had one of those days last night. I hated what was on the menu for supper and being the big baby that I can be...picked at my food like a child and just had it set in my mind that it wasnt what I wanted and wouldn't fill me up anyhow. For some reason, the only vegetables I like eating with supper are green beans. I don't dislike broccoli or cauliflower, but i just don't want to eat them right now. LOL. I am such a child at times. Anyhow, I was just starving all day yesterday and I really have no idea why. I didn't eat any "trigger foods" I stayed on plan, although I probably sucked down 100 calories in Sugar Free popsicles (when I'm limited to 75). I guess there are just days like that.

S/C/G: SW:226/16st - about 50lbs lost

Wow laydees you sure to write lots while I'm asleep!

Star - I am 5'8" and I'm coming to the end of my losing period. Partly because no more is coming off! But I used to lift weights when I was pushing 200lbs and it was still making me skinny!

Gina my Rebel tops out at about 70mph, if you really really push her she'll do 75. The acceleration's not bad going from 0-50 but over that you really have to twist!

We're off out to Oxford for a lovely drinkie poos! I'm going to wear a dress that's been hanging in my wardrobe for ages unworn and those new knee high boots that actually fit!

Morning Biker Babes - How's it going For me I'm so glad it's Friday - the weekend is only hours away......

Tomorrow night we get to babysit one of our GB Kaycee, she is 8 months old and really cute. She's gonna stay all night with us, parents going to party. Last weekend I got her ears pierced, they looked so cute. Oh and I took the four year old GB Jenna too. I have girly girls For the longest time we had one GB (jenna) and now by next Spring we will have SIX . Right now we have 3 girls and 1 boy, 2 on the way...I guess I should be learning to knit or some other grandma thing huh

Hat Chick, I see yo are another Biggest Loser fan - me too, love the show!

Rebel - Hope you are feeling better today. I read in a magizine at the gym today what your suppose to do when you are really hungry. You are suppose to eat say 6 small meals, spread your food out. Drink more water (ofcourse ) eat more fiber and I forget what else

2Fru - I love lifting weights, have done it for along time, but if I lift heavy I do get big muscles. If I don't diet and lift - I gain weight. Right now I'm trying to lose weight, so I only lift really light. I'm not saying lifting if wrong, I'm just saying for me right now it is...... I'm stuck too (at this weight) but I'm not giving up, I know I can get to 150 before going to the nursing home. I'm 5'7" (think I mentioned that) your tall at 5'8", I think we are lucky to be that height, gives us more room to spread the weight around...

Hi Holly - wherever you are....
Hi Harley - hope your not so busy today!

A little better today but my desk looks really crazy papers every where. TGIF!
Star so looking forward to grand babies but not quite there yet. My daughters just started High School and son is only 21 and not ready to be married and have children. He has had a steady girl friend for over a year now so there is hope in the horizon. I love other peoples babies but diffently don't want any more of my own! Have fun with the little one this weekend!

A little lunch today with the office folks one gals birthday. Hopefully won't go complety off my program and blow it today. I've been pretty good about making smart choices so I am determined to stay on track.

My program allows me to eat 6 times a day so I usually don't get to hungry. It is 1200 calories a day so sometimes early evening before I get home I want to eat something but just work through it and I am usually OK to wait until dinner. Drinking water seems to help sometimes.

Chat later!

LOL - I wasn't trying to make ya'll jealous about me being a grandma...LOL - sometimes I just have to talk about my GB's..... (I try to refrain) BUT since this is the topic and Harley you are next in line (years away ofcourse) being a grandma is in a way more fun than being a mom.....LOL

Harley - That JC program sound really good, I hear people refer to 1200 calorie plans all the time. Plus with the six meals. At LAWL they don't tell us the calorie count we are on (I think I'm around 1200 too), we get three meals and 2 snacks...also we drink 64 ounces of water a day.....then if I'm still hungry, I just go to bed....

Mornin all...happy friday!!!

2Frust...you go girl - i bet you look hot in the dress with the boots!!!

Star - i'm pretty new to the lifting weights thing...right now i'm trying to concentrate on firming up arms, abs and butt...results are still coming in...but i need to put some time into researching new stuff so i don't get bored with it.

Harley - it's not really intentional but i tend to spread the food out over the day as well - mostly because i eat at my desk and it gets interrupted all the time. it seems to work for me as long as i stick to what i have brought for myself...and stay out of the donuts.

Gina - As you have probably found out by now, the arms take real work to firm up. I have been working on mine since my class reunion almost two years ago. I saw the video of me in a sleeveless thing and that gave me the motivation. At present, they are looking good, toned and definition. I have a Bun & Thigh Roller for the buns, which I like alot, as well as a Beach Body Ab tape. Getting old s_cks or sorry - STINKS

Hello chicks!

Sorry that I was absent this morning, but I went to my student's funeral. Very sad, but it was nice to see all the support for the family. I started bawling as soon as they played the first song. It fit her so well. I think it was called Streets of Heaven and talked about a 7 year old dying. I lost it. Anyhow...it's Friday...I am glad for the weekend and I don't want to bum anyone out, so I'll move on!

HarleyMom- I am (have been) doing South Beach since August 16th. It's a great plan for Dh and I. We had done it before in the past, but never as committed as now. We have the same problem here at work...in fact today. We celebrate staff birthdays once a month and there's a table FULL of food. Today I saw cheese dip, chips, tortilla rollups, cookies, brownies, various dips, 2 big fluffy gooey looking pies, and some other stuff. I didn't have any. It's not too hard now. One of my co-workers said "That sucks that you can't have any" and I just really didn't want it anyhow.

Star- Your weekend with the GB Kaycee sounds like so much fun. I bet you are the coolest grandma! I'm sure that your little ladies look so adorable with their ears pierced, too. There are days and times when I just cant wait to have a , but there are other times that I'm glad that we don't right now. I guess God knows that and maybe it will happen when the time is right. Anyhow I have 2 little girl cousins (more like nieces) and I adore them. We call them the Divas and they live up to their name! Last night wasn't too bad on eating. I am proud of myself really. It was unplanned but we were outside, it was hot and I ended up having 2-3 light beers , but I didn't munch on bad things. I still remained disciplined. So, I am glad to see when something unexpected happens, I don't lose all control!

Gina- No, TOM was last week and ended over this past weekend. Although, I do the effects of it tend to last a little over a week. Last week i gained 5 pounds in water weight b/c of TOM, but I got on it this morning and I lost all the 5 pounds, plus 1.5 pounds extra. I need to update my tracker, but my actual weigh-in day will be Sunday.

2frustrated- Have a great time out on the town in your awesome outfit!

what star said...also, it's hard to remember when you are in the middle of the grumpy mood or the hunger pangs - but everything cycles...it will go away whatever it is.
Who was it who said tomorrow will be a better day? Scarlett O'Hara or something?
