I pity anyone who sleeps with a sleeping kickboxer. You'll do fine...I'm not even going to wish you luck 'cause you don't need it.
  • but that's a great way of multitasking... practicing kickboxing in my sleep... yes! You've got it!

I did fall asleep "thinking" my routines last night though so perhaps it's not so crazy!

And I want to do more than fine... I want to be the best! And get a 1 grade (which is v v v hard to do!) Ambitious? MOI?
  • Andrea - I'm so sorry to hear about your hubby. Please let us know how he is and how you are holding up.....you are in my thoughts...
  • Went to JC last night lost 1.3 lbs this week. Slow but steady. I haven't gone a week that I haven't lost something since I started this journey so I can't complain. I hope all is well with Rebel's DH. Wow how scary. My twin daughters have homecoming this week. Big bon fire this evening. I didn't get home last evening until 9:00 p.m. looks like another late night. Football game tomarrow night and Prep Rally on Friday and then the dance Saturday. They make it a week long of partys for them. It's mak'n me older by the minute! Love my kids though! Have a good one all!
  • WTG Harleymom!! sounds like a super busy weekend...try to find some time for yourself..
  • Hi Harley Mom = Way to go with the great weeks at JC, how much have you lost now?
Sounds like your girls are in for a fun week, and you too....
Hat Chick - hey girl, I saw you over at the 'Over 60' thread, made me snicker....
  • Ya gotta give some props to the over 60's...plenty of sage advice...
  • Gina is sage - senior advice?

had to post this just to let you chicks know now that getting old is the pitts and here's why. Mind you my doctor considers me pretty healthy....becuz prior to this taking no meds....and I'm 56 (don't tell anyone)-

Well I had a complete physical yesterday, my blood work came back with chlestorol at 240 but that was non-fasting, my blood pressure was slightly high.
so my doctor (woman we'll call her Dr W) put me on low dosage of blood pressure medication. I have to go ba ck in two weeks to have my blood redrawn so she can look at a fasting reading for cholestrol and see if the blood pressure meds are working. Told me to take calcium and was very pleased with my workout schedule and said that weight training has been under estimated for years and cardio and weights are the way to go. I'm actually smaller than her now, shes about 45 and was always slimmer than me about the same height, really nice woman. We didn't actually even get into my weight (only becuase her exams take like an hour, so I figure she's ok with it (166). She did hear a very very slight heart murmer, she said another doctor might even not hear it and wasn't real concerned (but it is new from 4 years ago). She did all the relex tests, did a in office ekg - all were good.
Dr. W also gets all the reports from my oncoligist gynocoligist (cancer dr - we will call him Dr C)..
    Okay so here are the new tests she ordered for me;
blood work fasting - two weeks
Eckocardiagram - for buildup in arteries - not cover by ins $200, but well worth the money....apparently shows everything. (with the heart murmer Dr. W feels it is warranted) But if I didn't want to pay for it she would of been ok with my decision.
colonoscopy - becuz I'm old and haven't had one. I make the appt with digestive dr.(Dr.D) need meet & greet appt then schedule the procedure...
Bone density test - her office - appt not made yet
Cat Scan - ordered by Dr C, done in her office
Chest Xray - ordered by Dr C, done with cat scan and bone density
6 weeks - go back to Dr W, to see if everything (meds) working and what the new fasting reading is for cholestrol...
Now - for a semi healthy middle aged chick, isn't that alot.
Not to mention the utro-vaginal surgery I'm having soon. by Dr. C
and the double bunion surgery -(not scheduled til after above surgery) by foot doctor. (Dr. F)
And then we have my braces (Dr. B) which requires atleast one appt per month and sometimes two. Most of those can be after work, but certain things require morning appts.
After putting this all on paper I feel like I should just rent an ambulance and go that way....lol
  • Quote: Gina is sage - senior advice?
sage advice is good advice from people who have been around long enough to know. That's my story and I'm stickin to it...BTW - I consider 56 just broken in...nowhere near broken down...(I'm 39...every year my definition of old gets older...it used to be 25)

I think I would want to meet and greet before letting anyone in back there...

Gotta love your sense of humor
  • Thanks Gina -
Well since I"m a cancer survivor, gee I never said it like that before, I consider myself healthy. I'm sure some would not agree. My Doctor says I'm healthy and she wants to keep me that way so I can enjoy the grandbabies. She said I have had a tough life, which made me think why. I guess it's becuz I lost my husband of 47 and then had cancer afew years later. So yeah I try to keep my sense of humor....
  • Wow Star you’re a trooper! That is a lot of stuff. My mother in law had lung cancer and when I went to the docs with her one time for chemo the file they pulled out for her was the size of a very big dictionary. I couldn’t believe it. She laughed and told me that was the 3rd file they had made for her. Unfortunately she lost her battle in Feb of 2002. My mother has had cancer twice now first time when she was 35 yrs old big mole on the back of her leg. Now looks like jaws came along and took a chunk out of her leg but she survived it with a lot of treatment. Now she is 58 soon to be 59 (young mom) I am 42 I keep on telling her I am catching up to her. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in June of 2004. Had major surgery and doc was able to remove 90 % of the cancer. She has been going through a year of chemo. Was about ready to throw in the towel last week as she had been extremely ill from the chemo. But doc encouraged her to stay on the chemo and switch to something not quite so hard on her system. Well gals ovarian cancer is not detected by the normal things doc checks for in a physical my mother went in every year for a complete check up and had been in just 4 months prior to the cancer being found. Please be aware of your body and know if something doesn’t seem right it probably isn’t. Both mom and mother in law got put off for months by the doctors as having something else wrong with them at first. Mother in law had supposed cold that wouldn’t go away and my mom supposed minor stomach problems. Star what kind of cancer did you have? You sound like a very strong women! Good luck with all the battery of tests you’ll be taking. Any way I am just going on and on now so I'll chat with you all later take care! Hope Rebels Hubby is doing OK!
  • Harley - Thanks for the encouragement - your mother-in-law (MIL) and dear mother (DM) sound like troopers too. Gee I'm only alittle younger than your mom...
I had Uterian (sp?) cancer. Much like your mom, I went for yearly paps, the way they found it was during my periods I had heavy bleeding, thinking it was from an old IUD, but then one doctor (Dr R my female md) wanted me to have a scraping (can't think of the medical name right now) that's when they found it, it never appeared in my yearly paps. since it was very spread they knew it had been there for years. They did more than a hystorectomy, ovaries and more. I didn't need chemo, thank you dear God....
So as you said - we need to do more than the conventional pap smear, why more isn't recommended is beyond me?
Right now have to run to the bunion doctor for a shot and to go over my x-rays......
Catch you later.......Prayers for Andreas DH....hugs to all......
  • i need a smilie that does the "we're not worthy" bow from Wayne's World....I think it's amazing you came through all that and are not a whiner...can't say as I would be able to do the same.
  • Gina - I say Amen to that!!!!! Btw total weight loss has been 27 point something close to 28 lbs. Around 80 to go!
  • .
Harley - congrats on the loss...you rock...

Harley & Gina - I knew when my husband passed away (heart attack) at 47, after 26 years of marriage, him being my soulmate, that I couldn't make it. Afterall I lost half of me. So I joined every young widow/widower group I could find, plus one on one counseling. My mom thought I was suicidal. But with HELP I came thru it.
With the cancer you get the best medical care you can and pray and hope the man upstairs doesn't want you yet.....

You girls are giving me the biggest boost - I kinda feel like Super Women now..

Wish Andrea would post about DH....say another prayer.....And where is that wild child Holly
