Hi everybody -

Hope everyone and family is ok or at least doing better!

Off to a scooter rally this weekend!! What fun....now it will be me trying to count calories after a couple beers...let's see if I can follow my own advice...

Edited to say: the beers are at the end of the ride - not during...there isn't a helmet big enough for me to ride while impared....

Well managed to make it through a very busy weekend. Had some changelles this weekend with stress and what not but managed to make it without over eating or eating the wrong foods. Hope you all had a nice weekend. It was great riding weather here. Went for a short putz on Sunday. DH scoot was whinning and not sure why so we didn't go far as he needs to take a look at it. Sounds like the belt to me, which was just replaced, but I don't know what the heck it is. Still wondering what is going on with Rebels DH. She has been MIA all week. Hopefully things are OK for her and she knows we are all thinking of her. Well all hope your having a good day. Check out later!

What a fun weekend - my butt's still sore. But nobody crashed and no one's bike died...which for a vintage scooter rally is nothing short of a miracle.

Don't ask me if i stayed on plan - let's just say new month, new leaf. :0

Rebel - hope everything is ok...hugs...

2 frust - how did your test go?

Erm.. yeah new week, new chocolate bar! I'm making Tuesday the official start to the week - we're out for dinner again and I've already half demolished my French chocolate bar

Test went well, did everything ok, just 2 kicks could have been better so we'll just have to see what the examiners have to say. I'm sure I've passed, but whether I've passed well enough to skip a belt, well we'll have to wait and see. Don't get to know for a week or two.

Rebel

Now... bowling and out to dinner... I really need some fries... I've been deprived of them for far too long (about 3 weeks!)...

Hey girls...I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for all the well wishes. It has been a helluva week. Damn. We finally got home from the hospital today. Basically, DH did have a very significant heart attack but with minor damage to the heart. He has spent the last several days in the CCU. On Friday they did a heart cath and that came back very negative. His right artery was 90% blocked and the left also had some blockage. They told us that the best treatment would be a bypass, but it was physically impossible b/c there was nothing to attach the artery to. So, the best thing that they could do was 4 stents in the right artery and 1 in the left. They said that there is the possibility of reclogging, but it seems that if he gets very determined about his health that it may not happen soon. He's only 43. Plus, he's also diabetic and has been for awhile. I'm not sure what that holds for our future, but really how many of us know what's in our futures? Our best bet at this time is strict diet, exercise, and taking his medications. Its been so scary...terrifying really. I couldn't help but being scared about being widowed. I can't lose him, so I will just be the biggest pain in his @ss about taking care of his health.

When it all happened... I had no clue that was what he was having. Last Monday he lifted a toolbox (big) into his truck and when I came home that evening he was complaining of his upper back (betweeen shoulder blades) being achy and sore. We thought muscle strain. Later it radiated to his left arm and jaw. There again, we thought the pain had just traveled from it being a pulled muscle. I put Icy Hot and heating pads on him. Helped for 30 mins at a time and then returned. We were going to make an appointment with a chiropractor. Monday night he slept maybe an hour the whole night and sat up just being achy. Not piercing pain. He woke me up Tuesday morning said he couldn't take it anymore and wanted to go to the ER. So, that's when they said the EKG was abnormal and took him by ambulance to Wichita (30 mins away from here). We had no idea. I always thought heart attacks meant that someone clutched their chest and dropped. Not this. Also, just a note to any of you that don't know this...ALWAYS ALWAYS write down all your meds, milligrams, x per day taken and keep it in your purse and do this for your husbands too. We were asked constantly about medications and we couldn't remember names (being generic) and milligrams. What an eye opener this has been...

We did speak about to the business office about applying for assistance to "wipe out" the bill. I hope it works. On the way to the hospital that morning I kept thinking that this couldn't have come at a worse time without insurance and him out of work, but then I thought I thought of the alternative...what if I had found him dead that morning???

He's doing much better now, though. Glad to be home. He's kinda depressed, but I guess that's to be expected after going through this. His medication bill now is about $400 a MONTH. But we'll figure it all out. He may be going back to work soon, or I might get a 2nd job to cover meds, or find a prescription plan somewhere. I'm just glad to have my husband with me. He says that it would cheaper if he'd died...which breaks my heart and is actually not true! I'm sure he'll be himself in a few weeks or months.

Anyhow, I just wanted to update you all and let you know that we are finally doing ok. I have stayed in the hospital with him the whole time. The staff was nice enough to let me sleep in the CCU on a chair. My back is killing me! LOL. Plus, you sure don't get any sleep in a hospital!! I think that I'll be going back to work tomorrow, b/c he can get around the house ok.

Well, I will post some more tomorrow. I'm glad that you are all doing well and hope your weekends went good.

I really hope that Holly is ok... I figured she'd post by now...

Big Hugs to you all~! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!!!!!

Hey Rebel glad that you seem to be doing ok for now (both you and hubby). At least with you being a pain in the *** for him, it will motivate you to be healthy too!

Not much to report from this end apart from I'm a big pig and have been eating lots yesterday and at the weekend. I feel so ashamed!

Kickboxing tonight and hopefully a fresh start with the eating! Wish me luck gals!

Andrea - You said "He says that it would cheaper if he'd died...which breaks my heart and is actually not true! I'm sure he'll be himself in a few weeks or months." That made me cry.....Your right he won't be himself for quite awhile, you will just have to do as you are and thank God you still have him.
You sound like you have a really good handle on everything, you sound very strong. HUGS to you sweetie.

Not much to report here, just wanted to say Hi and let you know I'm thinking of you...

hey to everyone else....

Oh Andrea...that's a wake up call I wouldn't wish on anyone... Stay strong, girl...hopefully the financial stuff will work itself out...it would be nice to know we pay taxes for a reason that's useful to someone.

2frust - quit beating yourself up...I'm in the same boat...I haven't gained yet - I think all the time at the gym is helping a lot. Imagine if I could get it together enough to eat right and work out...yeah whatevah...

Good morning everyone else!

Well Ladies what a day! Very busy. Wow Andrea what a week. So glad your dh is OK! You are right nothing matters as long as he is OK. Money isn't everything. He needs to know that you depend on him and that his wellness is what is important to you at this point. My dh is a diabetic and you just have to be on top of it. If he has not been taking care of it that is most likley what caused the heart attack. People don't realize that diabetics can have so many things go wrong just from having it. I know my dh has had a few eye openers in the last year. Blood sugar up over 800 at one point. Could make some be in a comma. You get that under control and everything else starts getting better too. My dh has one med that is 90.00 and we have insurance. We would go broke without the insurance. Who cares what it costs is my motto as long as I have dh around healthy. Anyhow so glad your back and things worked out OK!!! Hello to everyone else too!

Hi Harley - Yes, I watched Biggest Loser...it was good. The girls team threw me for a loop by giving up the trainer, but seemed to do ok with training with Matt....
Looks like Ryan was doing good after she went home....

I thougt Ryan looked really great! I was really peeved at those girls last night. They chose to give up the trainer and then they divided over it. Stupid move on their part. Funny how Suzy got a bad rap last week for drinking all those shakes and it actually paid off for her as she got the chef. Then when Suzy chooses not to do the bet well let just say the shoe was on the other foot. I don't really know who was right or wrong but regardless they needed to get over it and not split them selves like they did. They let those guys beat them by fighting with each other. I can not believe how much weight they all lost! It was cute to see Pete get so excited about losing 17 lbs.

Went to JC last night lost another 1.2 lbs for a total of 29.8 lbs. Almost to the 30 lbs mark. Snail pace but it is coming down every week so I am not complaining too much. Hope you all are having a good day!

You are doing great Harley, I suppose you are really use to the JC food now huh? Do you add your own fruit and veggies to it or what?

Ryan does look great - she took what she learned to heart. It will be interesting to see if the girls can get over their differences to come together as a team.
