  • Jill welcome Back! I can hardly wait to see your pictures. You'll have to tell me what you did in Jamica and Grand Cayman, as I am going there on my cruise in October. I don't want to wait 7 months! Was it the best cruise you've ever been on? Then you got home and got to ride, WOW!

2Frus, what a ride, I hate it when that happens. I've been stuck in stuff like that and I just hate it.

SuGyong get out on the bike while you can! We also will get another snow storm before it is all over.

Well Chicks have a great one and keep on keep'n on!
  • Hi Harley!

Yes....it absolutely was the best cruise we've ever been on. The Coral Princess was just the right size...(1,950 passengers)...the upgraded accomodations were sooooo luxurious + comfy and nice....the destinations were wonderful, and there was a sea day between each one...which made the whole thing soooooo relaxing. The best part for me was the 10 day length of the cruise. Seven days is just never enough for us....we always leave wanting just a little bit more! 10 days was perfect.

Do you guys like the water? Dunns River Falls in Jamaica is wonderful. Fresh water cascading and flowing into the ocean! So intersting and beautiful. I think parts of Jamaica have a dangerous feel....at least the down town of Ocho Rios does. I will never go into town again on a stop there. I will stick to water-type excursions like snorkeling adventures or tours that go to the falls. We did something called the Cruise to Paradise Cove, which was boarding a medium sized catamaran and cruising along the coast to see the waterfalls.....then stopping in a cove to swim for a while. It was a party on the way back with rum punch and local beer. We danced on the deck and had a blast! It would have been better of I had been able to get in those falls, but it was still a great time. Next time we'll do the falls in a different way so we can climb them. The Paradise Cove excursion was only 3 hours, so we had time to be back at the ship laying by the pool for the rest of the day. Nice!

In Grand Cayman, swimming with the stingrays is fun....or visiting the turtle farm might interest you. I have that kind of turtle in my backyard so no biggie for me....but people from the West love it! There's also a cool butterfly farm there.

When it's time for you to book your cruise excursions, maybe you can call and read them to me. I'd be more than happy to help you pick some out!

    A few pics....all from Jamaica.

The 1st one is Dunns River Falls cascading into the sea.

The 2nd one is of another waterfall tumbling into the beautiful waters. Ocho Rios means Eight Rivers. There are 8 waterfalls flowing into the ocean there. We saw 3 of them on our excursion. I hope you can see the red flowers growing along the falls.

The 3rd one is of me after swimming....with our ship waaaay in the background. Notice the nice doo Good thing I had my Harley Hat with me!

The 4th one is of us partying on the way bback to the pier. See me and Mike?? We're on the right side of the pic.

Now......where to cruise next......huuummmmm. This girl isn't happy unless there's one in the planning, no matter how far off it is!!

  • Hello everyone. Finally got the dh kicked off the computer so that I can check some things out.

flsunbakd your vacation sounds like it was wonderful. Glad you enjoyed it.

Everyone seems to be doing so well. Give yourselves all a pat on the back.

As for me the scale is refusing to move this month. It isn't going up thank goodness but it won't go down either. I have upped my cardio this week hoping that will help. I did 16 minutes on the elliptical at the gym yesterday and again today. Then I did another 30 minutes on a mountain bike this evening. Something has to give here. I need the last 45 off by the end of July.
  • Hello ladies!

Jill, welcome back!!! oh, those pics show that bee-you-tiful blue water and I can just imagine the wonderful warmth...thanks for sharing!

2frust - OH MY gosh!!! good for you for safely getting home from riding in the SNOW!! You've got great skills to be able to do that. and a marathon? whoa! you go!!!

wannabe, I hear ya on 'something's got to give' I hope your upped cardio gives you a loss.

hi Harleymom, I'm so glad you got to have a ride!!

hi Sugyong, hope things are good for you.

Rebel must be busy! and hi Jukie!

I just got back from Curves, and am now tempted to just laze around (have today off). It would be great if I did another exercise session with a tape here...we'll see.
  • Hi all!! Just found this thread. So cool to find fellow biker ladies here. I had a Harley Low Rider until it got ran over (long story). I do plan on getting another Harley Low Rider this year.
  • welcome Teresa!!! nice to have another chick rider here with us! Do tell us about the bike being run over :eek

I did a double circuit at Curves today! I went early, around 7:30 am, then came home and just lost my motivation to do stuff on my day off (like clean, pick-up, organize, file bills, ANYTHING constructive) and went back to bed for a couple hours.

Got up at noon, decided to kick my own butt outside (the sun was shining and it had warmed up a little - like in the high 30's.) Went to Curves again for another session and then walked for 9/10ths of a mile.

I know lots of exercise and fresh air and sun exposure are great things to do for those with depression, so I am giving it my best shot

again a warm welcome to Teresa, and tell us about yourself when you can.
  • I am going to go to the mountains this weekend. Just decided me and DH going to take off on Friday and not come home until Sunday. Just get away for some R&R. Have a great day all!
  • Hi ladies! I'm not a biker chick yet, but I'm getting my endorsement this summer (I'm already signed up for the class) and I'm inheriting my mom's 750 honda shadow. I'm really looking forward to being one of those skinny biker chicks I see driving around down here!
  • Welcome TeresaR & haeyu14!!

Sorry I've been AWOL lately - major connectivity issues at home.... I guess I need to set some time aside to call cust supprt....

I've been lurking from work....so I can't post much. I'll make it all about me...

I'm down 2 pounds....and I rode my bicycle to work today....10 miles thru downtown in 40 minutes. YAY me! This might be the end of spin class for a while until the temps start getting ugly on me or the rain comes back. Food consumption has been ok....I need to leave the peanut butter jar somewhere out of sight tho. I really like mega cardio letting me eat mega calories and still lose. My Fitday is averaging 1786 a day for the last month...kinda high if I'm trying to lose IMHO.
  • welcome haeyu! good that you're already signed up for a class, they fill up quickly.

hey Gina! hi wow, you are a strength and cardio queen to ride your bicycle to work! and enviromentally friendly, also

I'm doing surprisingly well with staying on track with food and exercising alot!! yay!!! I get weighed and measured on the 7th, I think, so I want a loss of pounds/inches to show for my first 4 weeks of 'getting serious'.

    have a great day!
  • Hey chicks! I've been AWOL for a long time too. I have been so busy lately and this week was spring break, so I haven't by the computer much.

Oh my goodness Jill!! Those are AWESOME pics! Thanks for sharing!

I'm still plugging away at the weightloss. I've lost 17 pounds so far, but I still have a long way to go. I'm just happy to be losing!

Hi Gina, Holly, HarleyMom, wannabe, TeresaR, haeyu14, SuGyong, and 2frus!!
  • Hey REB!! Down 17 pounds....good for YOU, Girl! I'm waaaaay proud of you! I gained half that much on my cruise....so someone PLEEEZE slap me silly!!! Still can't get completely back on track, but come Monday, I'm SERIOUS. I swear.

Haeyu and Theresa, WELCOME! Glad to have you ladies here! Haeyu, where are you in Central Florida??? I'm in Eustis!

Holly....I just know you'll do well on your weigh-in...you've been SO good! You still have a couple of weeks til the 7th, so hit it hard!

And Gina.....WOW....I have to say I'm super impressed with you riding your bicycle 10 miles to work.....and you and I have the same p-nut butter issue; if it's anywhere in an available spot, I'm into it with a spoon.

Harley, hope you have a wonderful mountain weekend! That sounds so relaxing! Today we rode north a-ways to Lake Weir......and found a new watering hole/restaurant that had some great food and outdoor dining under tiki huts. Our kinda place. Tomorrow we're riding over to Cocoa Beach to meet up with our S. Florida friends who are riding up from Port Saint Lucie. We usually meet for lunch at Hooters or at a place on Cocoa Beach Pier. Supposed to be 83 and sunny, so the riding should be wonderful...just like today.

Hope ya'll are able to get out there on your bikes...and are having a great weekend!
  • good morning biker chicks! Hi Rebel, Gina, Jill, HarleyMom, 2frust, wannab, SuGyong, Teresa and haeyou!

well, we had a dusting of snow last night and still alot to melt. But we've been chopping away at the ice in front of the garage to expediate melting. And we have some slight warming (40's) and rain in the forecast, which we're glad of (the rain) because it helps to wash away some of the SALT and sand and gravel off the roads. Maybe, MAYBE next week...!

I need to get my bike in to the mechanic for a preseason checkup. I know I should know how to do it myself, and my husband knows pretty much, but it is MUCH easier for the mechanic to do it in his big, warm, well-lit shop with the bike on a lift. And I'm willing to pay for it, so it's worth it.

I'm not sure what the deal is with my Kury hypercharger...it's where the air cleaner would be normally, I wonder if it just comes off and there's an air filter under it? I should research that.

I slipped up a bit last night, had one of those smaller bags of microwave popcorn and a big bowl of Froot Loops. My first non-diet slip up, though, in many many days so I'm not beating myself up over it
  • Hey girls! Sorry I've been AWOL, too. My computer keeps freezing up... some virus check and temp files cleaning seems to have worked.

Still stuck at 163. But at least I'm under that darn 165 that gave me so much trouble! Getting on the bike would ROCK, but the weather's only nice when i have the three kids to watch. i was hoping this weekend, but it got cold again. Darn... maybe it won't be TOO bad.. wear some layers.. get all the leathers on...
  • Hi, all. I just found this posting. I am a rider, not a driver. I leave that up to DH. We have a 2006 Honda GoldWing. It is so comfy as a passenger and DH does everything possible to help me enjoy the ride. It's not my life's passion as it is his, but I am trying. I just want to lose this weight so it's not so hard to get on and off the darn thing!!!
