Hi all! It snowed here yesterday and is pretty cold. It is suppose to warm up to 50 today. Well see. Jill I am jealous of your weather, it sounds like your ride was wonderful!. I am looking forward to summer!

Jill you go girl. Kick butt and take names. It is good to here you are so enthusiastic about your gazelle. Don’t let you self get burned out. Cayman is right around the corner! I want to live your life that week, sounds like a lot of fun.

Holly don’t get discouraged. You are so close and you look marvelous! Keep on Keep’n on girl! Gina has some great pointers. I love the idea of adding more fiber to your diet. It will help you lots. I know when I don’t eat enough fresh fruits and vegetables I feel like poo!

2frust I am glad you are so motivated to ride in all kinds of weather. I just can’t do it any more. I hate getting wet and then being wet all through the ride and then you get cold UCK! Not my thing. I am with Holly I have tried everything under the sun to stay dry. I have a rain suit that helps but it is usually my hands and feet that get really wet. It is absolutely miserable. I rode 6hours in trenchel down pour one time and I was so tried and cranky by the time we got to our destination no one wanted to be near me. If you find anything that really works let us all know!

HarleyBrit I absolutely hate the liquid so called meals! They don’t feel you up and they usually taste dreadful. My son is a power lifter and uses them for the added protein to help him bulk up which that in it self makes me want to shy away. If you really want to use them I would recommend adding skim milk and using a blender, it seems to help with the consistency and taste. I think that a nice salad with some protein, chicken tuna or something feels me a lot better and keeps my weight down. I have learned there are no quick fixes out. If you want to lose weight slow and steady wins the race! I eat 1,200 healthy calories a day and it is really working for me. But remember what works for me may not work for others. By the way glad to here AZ is getting some much needed moisture. I heard you all had a dry spell.

Well Chicks Hi to all of you cool biker Chicks! Have a good one and keep on keep’n on!

Hey Harley.........

Yeah we had 140 days no moisture....so its looking really nice around here today...all the dust is settled...Yeah the shakes pretty much suck except that they fill me up pretty good. I am one of those eaters, when I am bored I eat no matter if I am hungry or not so I figured the shakes would be a good in between. Seems that to much fruit does the opposite for me that it does for others...I gain...so I have to watch it...salads are good though. I am heading to the store today to stock up on all things good....I cleared out the pantry and refer and holy crap nothing left! I also figured out that we eat an awful lot of starch....I kept the rice and potatoes for the hubby since he doesn't need to loose I will just sup a salad instead of a starch.

Have a good day!

Harley Mom, if I didn't ride in all weather's I'd never get to work!!! Oh and some cager almost ran over my foot this morning! She was sitting at the front of the traffic lights, there was a space behind her that I was sitting to the far right of (because I'd just come down the middle) and a car about another car's length behind her. We'd been sitting at the lights for about a minute and she decides to REVERSE! Why, I will never know! So I beeped as she was about to crush my foot and thankfully she stopped! Wierdo!

Double kickboxing last night WAHEY I'm nicely sore now!

Meal replacement shakes and protein shakes are slightly different. Slim fast makes me gag! And tastes powdery, meal replacement shakes tend to have more carbs in than a protein shake. But yes use a blender and some milk, you can also put a banana in there and it will make it less powdery.

Keep on riding gals!

heehee, I remember stopping at a gas station on the NY Thruway, I turned to my traveling companions and said in a low, even tone, "I am one cold and wet b*tch" Then went into the restrooms which gloriously, had a row of air dryers. I stripped off as much as I decently could, wrung out my two pair of socks, and hung the socks over the ends of the dryers, then would hit all the buttons in a row and puffed out my socks to dry. Pee-yew!

I took Gina's advice yesterday and it helped!! this is what i had -

Cup of Kashi and cup of yogurt, coffee w/ 1% milk
Apple as snack
Half turkey sandwich (no mayo, a little cranberry sauce, lettuce & tomato)
Orange as snack
cup of yogurt as another snack
Half roast beef sandwich (no may, a little BBQ sauce, letttuce & tomato) coffee & 1% milk
pack of little cookies (170 calories) & tea as nightime snack

I got a little hungry before my dinner, I was at work and couldn't get the time to eat before I started getting one of my 'hungry headaches' but I DIDNT cave to the cookies!! And I am trying to get back to drinking water. I had over 1 litre.

I was remembering my tight chaps as motivation!

2frust - that stupid cager!!! My husband is ultra-aggressive and would have kicked the car. I am afraid of someone getting out of the kicked car and whomping on me, so I just beep and yell and flip them off. VERY glad they stopped in time.

HELLO to everyone else!

Oh, I called the dealership yesterday, just to check in on my new bike. It hasn't been delivered yet. That's OK, I wasn't expecting it until late March, and gives me more time to save up more cash.

Have a great day, ladies!! you guys are my salvation, really.

Hey there girls...

As usual its been a pretty hectic week, but I am SOOOOO glad that it's Friday. I've really stuck to my plan and I feel so good about myself right now. I've actually lost, too. I have lost 10 pounds since last Monday!! I always lose real quick when I first start South Beach, but it will slow down and that's ok.

Brit- I totally understand about not being able to eat certain things without gaining. I can't eat a lot of fruit either. Although I am going to try some lower GI fruits like berries and apricots and see if that helps. I can't eat chili beans without gaining. I can make a "healthy" chili with pinto beans, but I gain some. It's just a matter of knowing what your body can handle. Oh, and about the meal replacement shakes...don't be discouraged to try them. I know 2 ladies that have lost and maintained the loss using a good meal replacement. I have thought of trying them, too, but for now I'll stick with South Beach.

Holly- Your menu sounds yummy!

Oh, I think that I have chosen my next bike. Of course that will be in a few years...lol, but I really like those VStars. I think that I want a VStar Classic. It has more get up and go than the Rebel, but seems small enough to not intimidate. A friend told me that I wouldn't be happy with a Sportster and should look into a Heritage...but lordy that's a big bike...well for now anyway.

Next month our Motorcycle club is planning a day trip Waynoka, Oklahoma for the rattlesnake hunt. I guess it's quite an event. Never been, so it should be pretty neat. They also eat the rattlesnakes, but not me! We need to get some bigger pegs (for me) by then for sure.

Hi to everyone else! Have a great Friday! Anyone have big plans?

Hi Chickies!
What a wacky week...TGIF!!

It's gonna rain here, too...no riding this weekend. I'm prolly just gonna do some serious house cleaning (like Brit )...another major thrill will be attempting to do the books for DH's car painting business....the joy that is a year's worth of box of receipts awaits me The procrastination queen lives!!

Ok Andrea - I got a little lost trying to find a calorie count on rattlesnake... A nice three-ounce chunk of rattlesnake has only 79 calories and two grams of fat, compared to a three-ounce chicken thigh, which has 129 calories and four grams of fat. The chicken does come out a bit ahead on protein, with 23 grams, versus the snake's measly 15. LO freaking L....just for the record I had to surf for like a half an hour to find that... Looks South Beach approved to me. Just not in chili with beans
on ten pounds lost!!

Harleymom - hope DH's laser surgery goes well. I did watch Biggest Loser - the teams seem pretty evenly matched - I can't decide who will win this time. We'll see next week. I was due for another BL fix.

Holly - what a touching tale...I still have a visual of one grumpy chick in her undies with all the dryers going WTG not caving on the cookies - your comfy chaps await you! Water is good, too...if nothing else it flushes everything out.

2Fru - I would have been banging on her bumper...what a moron!!

WOOOHOOOOO Girlies!

Had THE BEST day today! It was 85 & sunny. HH played hooky since it was his birthday and we burned up Daytona! Went with our HOG group....about 35 bikes. Our good friends rode too, as well as our son & grandson. Grandson thought he was going to school, then son told him to hop on the bike instead, "We're going to Daytona BikeWeek for the Day!". You should've seen him with the Daytona T & A. (He's 13.) It was hilarious!! Went to the Harley Exibition & sat on some awesome bikes. Almost made me want my own! But really.....HH and I have waaaaay too much fun riding together & I'd hate to give that up. Had a great ride over & back...then we bar-hopped locally til midnight! I was pretty good....had too many drinkies thru-out the day, but stuck to my eating plan as well as I could. Also did my Gazelle before we left this morning. I'll be spending double-time on it tomorrow!!

Sounds like everyone here had a good Friday too. I hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend and that you get some riding in!

PS~~I got in my Size 12 Jeans today and they felt pretty darn good!!

PS Again~~Pic attached of me with my grandson....in my new hat....sitting on one gorgeous HOG

Hi biking chicks!

Flasun, you look WAY too young to have a grandson that age - and he is a handsome kid - and I can imagine his shock/delight at seeing the Daytona T & A GLAD you had a great day!!!

Gina - LO freakin' L at finding out the nutritionals on rattlesnake!! I was thinking the same thing - "I heard it tastes just like chicken" and yes, I'm trying hard with the water - had 2 liters today (glug glug)

Andrea - CONGRATS on the loss!!!!

HarleyMom - best wishes to your husband on the surgery

HarleyBrit - hi! I wouldn't have known that AZ had snow at all!

2frust - hey there, across the pond! Hope you're doing well!

hey everyone - WE RODE TODAY! It was sunshiny and almost, almost 50 degrees, but the sun helped alot. After I got out of work and got home (3:00 pm) we saddled up and did about 45 miles, not much, just a couple towns over and back, but it was NICE!! Saw no other bikes out.

I strayed from my strict calories this evening, but not too awfully. Will be back on track tomorrow

I'm considering doing something different with my hair. I've never ever colored it, and just had highlights once, two years ago. I see so many women that originally had brown hair, but had it streaked/highlighted/or colored so that it looked so much lighter...i think I'd like to try that.

as Harleymom says, keep on keepin' on!

Default Sunday & Gazelle Update

Hi Biker-Babes!

Just wanted to update you on my new Love...Tony Little! The good news, is...my HH LOVES this affair I'm having with Tony!

Been using my Gazelle Power Pro faithfully for a couple of weeks now. Can REALLY see the difference! Also bought the Tony Little Gazelle Crosstraining DVD (from www.tonylittle.com). It comes with the Crosstraining Gazelle sold on HSN, but it can be used with any Gazelle model. Tony is sooooo inspirational in a nice quiet-kind of way...and you get a SUPER work-out with it! I was trying to Gazelle by myself while waiting for the DVD and it just wasn't the same. Once I got the DVD I really started getting into the program. Now I can last thru half of the advanced part...then after a cool-down I sit on my ball and do weights through the rest of his program, using his music & motivation. I'd recommend the Gazelle to ANYONE...especially since I've been an exercise-flunkie for life. This is the very first time I've been able to stick with a work-out and enjoy it at the same time. Plus, adding the weights has been a huge step for this old dog! I'm gonna be one buff Gramma!

Holly, thanks for the compliment about looking OK for my age...I have to admit I have good genes...plus, I refuse to be frumpy!! Preston is my oldest grandbaby...all the rest are 8 and under.

SO glad you got to ride today!!...HH is off tomorrow so we will ride about 50 miles to a huge flea market. DSIL needs some doo-rags to wear under his safety helmet. He works on the oil rigs in Wyoming, and I can get them for $1 each at that market.

Love the comment about rattlesnake tasting like chicken...same for GATOR TAIL. I'll have the chicken please!

HarleyMom....ditto on good vibes for your HH's surgery. Keep us posted, please!

Happy Sunday, Girls! Hope you're all out there RIDIN! Don't mean to sound tooo mushy, but I'm sooooo glad to have all of you in my life!

good morning bikerchicks!

Jill, your avatar is GREAT! love the hat, love your hair color, etc still think you look like you're in your very early 40's

it is so great that you have found a program that you love and that obviously is working for you! way to go! I really like that we both have Myrtle Beach as a goal. That is my immediate goal; then I absolutely crave to get back to the low 140's, when I had no concerns about fitting into my clothes, and felt so good about myself. Which then, let me feel good about life!

I have more concerns about my husband; he had to leave work because he started sweating, and was dizzy. He is very very overweight, and I am so concerned about; high blood pressure; stroke; heart attack, diabetes. He refused to get a physical last year, when I presssed for us both to get one. Yesterday, after he got home and felt a little better, I asked if he would go to the doctor. He said, if he didn't feel better. I asked if he woud go even if he felt better, to have a physical. He just kinda hedged. I have to maybe make an appointment behind his back, do you think?

anyway, back to me I'm feeling good about my exercise and eating, and thinking maybe I can keep in control now, and that's a great feeling.

have a great day! I have tomorrow and Wednesday off, so today is my "Friday" at work, so that's good.

Jill - not a mushy thing to say, I am also so glad to have friends and support here!

Holly....certainly don't want to freak you out.....BUT when HH was 48, he was dizzy, sweating, etc. and blew it off. Actually played 36 holes of golf the next day! Three weeks later while we were camping & canoeing, he had a "big" heart attack. The story of how we got to a hospital from the back woods of Indiana (and barely in time to have TPA to save his life) would give you the chills. 10 hair-raising days in the hospital followed, trying to get him stronger....and finally he was strong enough to have a triple bypass, Thank God. Found out that the first episode that he (we) blew off was also a heart attack and also the one that actually damaged 1/3 of his heart beyond working order. It's dead. Thankfully, the "big" one that happened on the river didn't do any further damage. Had he gone to the hospital during the first episode, he would still have had the bypass, but maybe not so much damage...and certainly not the possibility of death while out in the woods, miles from medical care.

Bottom Line: I SHOULD have MADE him go.

Today he his healthy WITHOUT MEDS and his heart has not enlarged...even with the decreased heart muscle. We are truely blessed.
