  • Lots of congrats going out to everyone. Love the dress to frus. New bike sounds fab Holly! Welcome back Star missed the heck out of you! Jill I am jelous! Looks like a great time and a great place. Congrats on the weight loss while on vacation. Reb congrats on the new clean bedroom! Gina congrats on doing much better after the weekend!

Well spring break is over. Didn't do much but enjoyed the time off. I spent several days helping my dad take care of some things. His best friends father died last monday so we had some events to go to in regards to that and then I had to help him get his taxes taken care of and we opened a safe deposit box. I miss my mom when things like this come up.

Well I was surpised when I went in to JC on Friday and had lost 6 lbs. I have been not loosing so it was good to finally see a loss. Missed you chicks well I was out.

Take care and keep on keep'n on Chicks!
  • Well done Harley Mom! 6lbs! AWESOME

I went out for dinner last night And had SALAD

Feeling like my head is well and truly in the game! Even though I probably haven't been as good as I should have been, the will is there!

  • GINA GINA GINA! I notice your ticker... We're the same weight! How tall are you??

    RACE YOU!
  • Hey there girls!

Harley- WOW!! Congrats on the 6 pounds weight loss, you're almost there! It's good that you are there for your dad and I'm sure that your mom is so proud of you.

2fru- Awesome for keeping on plan, girl.

Holly- Happy haircut to you! Sounds like as super hot 'do and smokin' hot bike!!!

Gina- Glad you liked the new gym and I hope that work is calming downing for you...

Not much going on here. Kind of emotional and stressful at work with some co-workers. One is taking a leave of absence b/c her cancer is progressing and she isn't able to work anymore. Another just found out that husband has a brain mass and his survival isn't very good. We all work very close together in very tight quarters, so it's rough on the team.

Well...not much else. Still plugging away at the diet. Down 2 pounds and I need to change my ticker soon. LOL

    Have a great one!
  • Hang in there Reb. I am sure my office was about sick of all the stuff I have had to deal with in the last 6 months. The where troopers though and never complained. Just kind of picked up the slack. There are only 6 of us in the office so I can relate to the tight group thing.

2 Frus you go girl! You motivate me to stay on track.

Well chicks keep on keep'n on! Have a great day!
  • 2Fru - I'm 5 4....competition? You are on, chick! As long as I don't have to kickbox you.... I've been stuck here for a while - so I'm due for a loss. Whoever said the last 20 pounds are the hardest was NOT kidding. Part of the problem is that you get kinda comfy with where you are...speaking for myself of course...

Andrea - so sorry about your co-workers. I'm sure they appreciate what a special team they are working with. 2 more pounds Woo Hoo for you!!

Harleymom - 6 pounds! YAY! It's neat you were able to help out your dad like that, too. I'm sure he appreciates it.

If it stops raining this weekend I'm off for scooter camping...IF being the operative word...no car washing by anyone! You'll jinx it.
  • Hello all!

    :hugs: for Reb

Gina - I'm 5'8" - I SO hear you about the last few pounds being the hardest! We get complacent!! Have you checked out the complacency thread in maintainers? Also in Support Groups there is an "Almost There" thread, for peeps with the last few pounds to lose. Oh yeah the race is definitely on, since I'm up to 166 this morning you're winning already I reckon it's water since I was very dehydrated yesterday because there was nothing to drink in the house!

Managed to avoid 2 idiot cagers today - one overtook me and squidged between me and this van in front of me There were cars coming the other way of course. You can imagine if one of those cars was in his way - it would have been me who suffered, after all I'd cause less damage to his precious Beamer! Then coming onto the motorway, this other wouldn't move over to let me on - he just about straddled the white line into the middle lane and almost forced me onto the hard shoulder!

    Driving rant over!

Oh and I hope you get your scooter camp in! I've got a bike camp scheduled for September at the Severn Valley Railway (heritage steam) with my dad and his friend! Hooray for motorbikes and 2 man tents!
  • Hey Chicks! Where the heck is everyone at. It is nice weather here so maybe it is nice everywhere and you are having fun in the sun!

Anyhow I went to JC yesterday and I am down another 1.5 lbs. I'll take it! Not much on this end just working and working on plans for the big anniversary party in June! Take care all and Keep on Keep'n on!
  • Howdy everyone!

Wow! great things going on in here, new bikes, new wedding dresses and lots of pounds being lost! Way to go everyone!

I see great things happening in my future too. I quit drinking in October, that lasted a whole few weeks and I've slowly ramped my drinking back up to, oh, just about every day. But last Saturday I finally quit for good. How do I know it's for good? Because I don't think hubby will stick around if I keep drinking and I feel in my heart it's time. I'm working on getting myself better and I feel great. One thing I'm going to see come of this is I'm certain my weight will go down. When I drank, I would drink beer - about 6 or more so there's a lot of calories in that. But I didn't stop with the beer, I would also eat waaaaaaay too much after the beer so I've slowly put on the pounds. But now I've been really watching what I eat, no more late night feasts, finally just normal eating. I've been exercising regularly too, and boy was I out of shape!

So look out girls, here comes the new - and improved - me!

    Kathy
  • Kathy happy to here from you. I am cheering you on. You can do this. Everything in moderation is my new motto of life. Keep on Keep'n on Chick!
  • Kathy- Congratulations on a brand new start. You can do it and we're all here for you, sweetie! I am the same way when I drink (about once a week) I also eat a TON. It does pack on the pounds. I'm trying to only drink every few weeks.

Harley-Yeah!!! Another 1.5, girl?! You are rockin' CONGRATULATION!!!

Gina- I really hope your scooter camp works out this weekend. Sounds like fun!

2fru- Watch out for those cagers, chicky! Be careful!!!

We're doing state testing this week at work and it's been super busy. I guess that I should say the kids are doing testing. LOL. For my weigh in today I'm down .4. I guess it's better than gaining. Next week I'll lose more!

Well, just wanted to check in! Simple Life is on (my guilty pleasure), gonna grab some 94% FF popcorn and relax!

    Later, girls!
  • Thanks gals. Each day not drinking for me is a victory and add to it eating right and exercising it's a damn battle! But, I'm doing great.

The weather outside is beautiful. 62 degrees, no wind (after yesterdays 50mph winds ) and there's motorcycles everywhere. Guess what I'm doing.... you guessed it working. But there's aways tomorrow, right? No. Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and cold. So, I'm going to have to wait to break out the bike. *sigh* I did buy a new jacket today that matches my bike... very yellow. I could go riding after work, but right now my exercising is more important so I'll be taking the dogs for a long walk and wearing all of us out in the process. This weekend I'll be going to the gym after work and then early on Sunday. I may even start getting up early a few days a week and use the bike before work. We'll see, I HATE getting up early, but if it makes the difference of a few pounds a month it's worth it... maybe.

All you chicky poo's have a great weekend!

    Kathy
  • Hey Kathy - Good for you!! That is quite a challenge - but if you ask me (which you didn't, but I'm gonna tell you anyway ) I would think losing weight would be easier without the drinking....that's a lot of calories you aren't consuming any more. Your idea of keeping busy by exercising is double good - you are too busy getting high on endorphins to need a drink. Did we mention we're here for you if you need to vent? BTW - I don't know your DH - but my DH was a drinker....I wouldn't have stuck around either if he hadn't stoppped.

I also hear you on the rainy dilemma - I don't think camping is gonna quite work out... Oh well...summer will come someday.

Andrea - .4 is .4, girl - down is way better than up.
  • Hi Chickies! Happy WEEKEND to all of you!

I've been AWOL....sorry! Been having fun tho, reading to get caught up with ya'll. Glad to see some good weight loss news and positive things going on. Sounds like we're all in a pretty good place right now.

Yes...drinking sure does slow down the process.....I know my will-power goes right out the window with a couple of cocktails!! Not to mention the calories in each one! Proud of you Kathy, it's certainly challenging to try to accomplish so many life-changes at one time....but sounds like you're on the right track using exercise to keep you strong. YOU CAN DO IT! and WE will help you!

I've been bad since returning home from Cayman....just can't get back on the exercise bandwagon with my Gazelle & Tony. NEED SOME BUTT KICKIN'!!!! Don't think I've gained, but am just not in the groove like I was. Have Myrtle Beach coming up and just cannot gain! Still want to meet my weight-tracker goal....have to get my mind right.

Have been having fun tho.....been riding a LOT.....weather has been wonderful, altho we haven't had rain here in 41 days. We're hoping for some this evening & tomorrow.

Have a ride planned to St. Augustine on April 19....it's about 100 miles from here. We're staying the night....sharing a Bed n' Boat with our riding friends, Dawson & Sharon. Here's the website so you can see. Kinda cool!!! http://www.stfrancisinn.com/boat/

We bought a little trailer to pull behind our bike for the trip to Myrtle Beach. It will help us take a few more things for the week....even tho' we're not big fans of these things. Here's what it looks like; it was the least expensive one I could find. Checked w/ our Harley mechanic and he says it's fine for using a few times a year. He's making us a hitch for it. http://piggybacker.stehltow.com/#Specifications

Am scheduled to take a preliminary riding class on May 7.....it will give me the bike basics that I need. Who knows! I might just come home and announce that I want my own bike!!! Sharon is taking it too, so it will be good!

That's all my news.....glad to be back in the fold....I've missed you all!!
  • Oh that's a cute trailer! I want one! Just because! I'd go do the supermarket shop on the bike then!

I've been a sick frussy, been at home with dial-up and snarky DF (he pays the dial-up bill! ), but he's out today so I'm surfing! I tried on more dresses on Friday, I went to try the first one which I saw in a magazine, then I saw the second one. I have one more to try on Tuesday then it's DECISION TIME! I still have that other one from e-bay as a stand-by, but I think I may have found my dress.... See what you think!

Had a couple of days of stuffing my face But I'm back to it today. I really need to get a few more pudgy pounds off just so I feel a bit more feminine!
