  • Good News from My Little Corner of the World!

I haven't weighed myself for a couple of weeks...but finally got the guts to do it this morning. I was pleasantly surprised with a loss of 2.5 pounds!

    Gotta get Gazelling!
  • Well done
  • Howdy all....New here and ride too...
    Hi everyone....

Looks like this group has been on here awhile and I just signed up to the site. My husband and I both ride ( I have an 04 harley sporty and hubby has an 03 softail ) and well I was doing great with my weight till a year and a half ago....I went from 178 to 205 (weighed that this morning!!! UGH!) I am considering going back on atkins since nothing else is working for me but I also know that has some to do with drinking. I am not a bad eater....just eat to much I guess. I do not eat sweets and never fried foods but still no weight lost only gained, so here I am looking for others and some pointers....I highly doubt that I will be giving up my couple drinks a night but I have to find a happy medium and a way to loose this weight. I am tired all the time now and it truely SUCKS!
Oh man I got off a tangent there huh...LOL I actually meant to say that I am so excited to see so many other riders!!! LOL sorry about that!
  • Hi Brit! Welcome!

You'll definintely find the motivation you need here....these gals MEAN BUSINESS! They have given me the guts to work out & get movin' instead of just waiting for eating right to work...because it just doesn't for me! Portion control is my problem and the Sonoma helps with that....plus you CAN have a drink or two after you get going on it....which I very much enjoy as well. Check it out! Lots of Sonoma on this website. It's mainly just eating right....lots of protein, veggies, fruits, whole grains, nuts, etc....but PORTION control as well. That's the hard part!

Well....off to ride....HH is off, so it's our weekend. We'll be running errands on our bike. It's gorgeous today....sunny and 75
  • Welcome Brit! Glad to have you join us! I know what you mean when you say you are tried all the time. Before I started loosing weight and exercising I felt horrible all the time. Everyone says I have a pep in my step now and I think I do. I feel so much better it is unreal. It is not about what I weigh it is about how I feel when I get moving! I still how have lot of weight to loose but I’ve come a long way from where I was at.

Yippee Jill! Good going on the weight loss and good for you on the exercise routine. Keep up the good work. I am so jealous that you get to go riding in 75 degrees weather today. It is nice out here right now but we are expecting a storm to move in and get snow. Yes you heard me right snow. UGH!

Well all you hot biker chicks keep on keep’n on!
  • Wow lots going on with you ladies!

First off... WELCOME Patricia and Brit!!

Kathy- Thanx for that link! Oh, and the "broken" scale...hehe DH fixed it. It was set on Kg. Lord, how I wish it say 125 and mean it.

Gina- Glad to know that I'm not the only with scary bedroom syndrome. Congrats on the (good) change in pants size!!!

Harley- Awww...that's so sweet of your Dh to say that you are a hot mama! I am so excited for you and your incredible weighloss progress. You girls keep me thinking that it is possible...even for me.

2fru- Congratulations on all your success and the compliments from your grandma and mom. That's such an awesome feeling. Especially going back to your school a much slender chickie.

Jill- I am so glad that you are enjoying your Gazelle so much. I need to look for a video on eBay, because mine doesnt have a video/dvd. I just do my own thing. Congrats on the 2.5 pounds gone!!

Brit- Love your pic! My husband and I ride a '03 Softtail, too. Yeah, I have the same problem with drinks over the weekends. So, I am really trying to abstain for a few weeks. I need to get a butt-load of weight off before riding season.

Well, chicks...not much going on, but just wanted to say hi to ya'll!
  • REB....I think you can only get Tony's new Gazelle Crosstrainer DVD at
http://www.tonylittle.com/SearchResu...?CategoryID=38. It's so new I wasn't able to find it anywhere else. It will work for any Gazelle....not just the Crosstrainer model.
  • Hi Brit!

I had a nice kickbox last night, nailed some back kicks

I've got pizza tonight But never mind, it all fits in. DF bought it last night. Ah well!

It's very rainy here - I got soaked last night on the way to kickboxing! My gloves got soaked through, under my handlebar mitts! Hmmmm! This morning I'm wearing carrier bags on my feet because my waterproof boots have a heel off. Grrr!
  • Welcome Patricia and Brit!! Patricia, I HEAR ya on your thoughts...I'm getting frustrated at my lack of control, and want to just give up...but something inside me says NO to that! and as Gina says, at least trying is better than nothing...but with her pants falling to the floor she is succeeding nicely! Brit, great avatar pic! I can easily never drink again, it's just feeling hungry that does me in.

Flasun, CONGRATS on your loss! HarleyMom, CONGRATS on your steady loss also, hot mama !

Hi 2frust., congrats also to you! I'd love to see you do a back kick and I still get a kick out of your lingo, "squidged" into, LOL!

Hi Rebel! I hope you get your workout room accomplished, that is great. Oh, I have an awful bedroom also...it's definitely "two personalities" - my side is OK, plain but acceptably neat....then look over to husband's side - OMG!!! PILES of clothes, books, everything...I've given up on tidying his side.

well, my scale hasn't budged. As i said above, I just get so hungry feeling. And my resolve just vanishes, even though all I think about is how I want to look in my t-shirts, shorts, or riding leather. I don't know what to do about myself. My exercise is fine, I have added 30 minutes of cardio each day in addition to whatever other video I do...but I am just eating too much!

I thought my Myrtle Beach countdown was going to be my inspiration - I really, really want to feel good about myself for that trip - I want to feel good about myself all the time, frankly, but thought that trip deadline would help me stay on track.

Okay, BIG smile now - I rode yesterday!!!!! It was sunny, the roads were clear of ice and snow (though I kept a sharp eye out for the sand and gravel drifts) and the air temp was ahem, almost 40 but the sun made it seem warmer. Just 10 miles, but it felt great, though my fingers were numb by the time I got back, then HURT as they defrosted There is a pair of gloves I spotted at the dealership, gauntlet style but thicker than what I have now, I will definitely get them when I settle on my new bike.

SO maybe my inspiration will be fueled that my chaps were tighter than the last time I put them on - we know chaps are sexy but not when my thighs are "squidged" into them!

hugs to all - especially Star! thinking of you, girl!
  • Hi Chickies!!

Sounds like everyone is doing well today....we had a WONDERFUL day! HH was off today, so it was our "weekend". We rode our Harley to St. Augustine....about 100 miles each way. Had a nice waterfront lunch after we walked though the Historic District. I got a really cool hat called a Shady Brady. It's nice to wear after riding when I have "Harley Hair"! LOTS of bikes in St. Auggie today....the over-flow from Daytona Bike Week. Had a couple of beers in a tavern that I used to crawl home from when I was in my 20's....lived in St. Augustine for a couple of years during those years.

Been sticking to Plan pretty much, but here's the GREAT NEWS!!~~I'm sooooooo hooked on Tony Little's Crosstraining DVD for my Gazelle! Boy is it a super work-out....and the best part is that the time flies by! Hope I can lose a couple more pounds before I leave for Cayman on the 18th. After that, I'll be hitting it hard to reach my Myrtle Beach Goal. HOLLY....WE CAN & WILL DO IT for Myrtle Beach!!!!!

    Have a fabulous evening, ya'll!
  • You freaking rock, Jill!! Carefull that gazelle doesn't take off and fly on you

Holly - are you getting enough fiber and protein? I am a lot less hungry when I bulk up on veggies and lean protein. I've been roasting zucchini and portabello mushrooms for 3 days in a row...my plate is full - but not full of starch like usual. A lot of chicks on thos site also swear by eating 6 times a day...just a thought. I'm hungry before meals, too...the hard part is not to start snacking before I get to the meal. I think it's hard because you are so close to where you need to be. I saw your pics - you are gorgeous.

Hang in there....you'll get what you are working so hard for. Hey you got a ride in!!! 40 degrees....Bbbbbbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I am such a weenie...

2Fru riding in the rain with plastic bags on her feet?

Andrea - hope the devil children are being good...

    Welcome Brit!!

    Hi Kathy and Star
  • Yeah the plastic bags didn't work and it was so wet last night that I squelched when I walked and this morning everything is still wet.

Ah well, it's cleared up now, and at least there will be less of a drought!

Had a nice bath with a book and pizza last night, a lovely rest day I've got double kickboxing tonight YAHOOOOOO! I need to get myself a nice early night tonight though, we are bushed!
  • Quote: ... Hope I can lose a couple more pounds before I leave for Cayman on the 18th. After that, I'll be hitting it hard to reach my Myrtle Beach Goal. HOLLY....WE CAN & WILL DO IT for Myrtle Beach!!!!!
thank you, Jill! that helps so much, that someone believes in me, and YOU are rockin' with your 2.5 loss and enjoying working out on the Gazelle! and thank you for the tips, Gina - I do like the thought of the smaller meals throughout the day, that would certainly help...

2frust, I have done the plastic bag thing I have put them over my socks, when a drenching rain is eminent. I have waterproofed my boots time and time again, and conditioned them with Doc Bailey's, but they still let in a soaking rain. Are any motorcycle boots truly waterproof?

I have dug out my Gilad's Quick Fit tapes, they are a collection of weight resistance workouts that focus on specific body parts, and they are quick workouts, no more than 20 minutes, with the idea that you can get a good workout without it taking too much time. I told you all that I have added 30 minutes of cardio 5X a week to help with the fat burning, now I have to work harder to make improvement with muscle tone.

Yesterday I did his Arms and Shoulders segment after the cardio, and today my triceps are sore! yay! I haven't felt them for a long time. Today, after cardio, I did Hips Thighs and Buns (difficult!!!!) and Abs.

Have a great day, bike chicks!
  • Aquaboots are supposedly waterproof, my friend has a pair. They are £40 over here, dunno if you can get them stateside. I will be looking into buying a pair!
  • Morning all......

Thanks to everyone for being so awesome and welcoming me to the group!! Sounds like you are all having great successes!!
Ok we went riding this last weekend and got a bit burnt for this time of year... we have been having amazing weather in AZ but its now drizzling a bit. Not sure we will be riding this weekend.

My next question for everyone....meal replacement shakes??? do any of you use them and if so which are the best? I have some that clumps so bad when you try to mix it and it tastes like sludge...EEEEWWWW!!!!

And last question.... I am going to start walking and jumping rope....my question is, how often did you all start out with in the beginning and for how long? I have never been into working out just being active but looks like my body has other plans if I dont start now.....

Anyways thanks you guys and happy riding!!!!!
