Hi and welcome redheadedgardenlady!

Oh my goodness mine too!
He keeps offering me Reecses cups and Hershey bars... as I chew on broccoli!
SO I steeped up a nice hot chocolate and satisfied my urge!
I just need to keep my eye on the goal, and remember I already ate too many candy bars, hence the fat A! LOL

Are you exercising on this too...?

LOL... my husband is ADDICTED to Reese's Peanut Butter Cups... I have to say, they are my fav as well... chocolate and peanut butter = YUMMY!!

yes, I am exercising still... I usually work out 5-6 days a week but I have cut it back to 3 for the time being and lowering my intensity until I am a few weeks into the program.

Hi everyone!
Newbie here.... day 7. First WI down 5.
but today I am not feeling it... I won't quit, but just can't stomach the thought of doing the diet today. Have a headache and tons to do today. I will not cheat though.... but may have a problem getting my veggies in

Any encouraging words..............

Hi and welcome idealpromom!

CONGRATS on -5lbs... that is awesome! Sorry you are feeling 'off' today... I have been suffering from headaches as well and had a migraine the other day. Keep up with your water and salt intake and I have found, having something to eat before I get hungry has helped too.

Quote:
question....
my coach told me I could have egg beaters instead of the packet.... so- does that mean I don't eat a packet or drink for breakfast?? so then I will just eat 2 packets -
totally having a brain fart......

I do not see a coach and I do not use IP products but from all of the researching I did on this forum, it seems it is okay to substitute 3 egg whites + 1 whole egg in lieu of a protein pack. I eat this combo of eggs with some veggies nearly every day. Hope this helps!

You are doing great! Keep it up.
I am on Day 5 and am very nauseous today too with a headache. Overall I have felt pretty good. I have had headaches but today i feel like a migraine is coming on. I took some medicine. My coach also suggested the salt trick thinking I may be low in sodium. I was really surprised to be sick today.
We will get through it. Hang in there.
Weigh in today for me...little early but worked in my schedule better. Wish me luck!!!
GOOD LUCK on your weigh in today!! I hope your nauseousness and headache passes quickly... hang in there, it will get better!

misswinter - THANKS for all of the helpful advice!!

Throw in all of your shrimp and veggies and set the basket on the grill. I typically have a large salad but I'm a mushroom fanatic so I sautee a ton of those a week in olive oil, and again, more garlic! Asparagus is another favorite although that is now getting out of season.

mmmmmmmmm..... I think I may have some shrimp tonight! I LURVES IT!!

Default Newbie seeking advice

I started IP wednesday of this week. I am a blessed mother of 6 (4 adopted) still have 3 at home ages 15,12 and 18 mos. I am also a military wife, my husband has been deployed since January... I have always been small and able to control my weight, but over the past 4 yrs I have gained 50 lbs going from 118 in April of 2007 to a current 168. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, but I really believe that I can overcome this...I have started the IP program with high hopes, I have seen great results in many in my hometown.
My problem has not been overeating but not eating properly or enough..dietician says that my body is in starvation mode and metabolism way too low causing it to hold onto everything. My goal for this program is to become a healthy eater, healthy mom and wife for my family. I am struggling with eating everything I am supposed to especially the 2 cups of vegetables, does anyone else struggle with this?? I really want to do this!!

Hi and welcome to the forum!!

Today is my 5th day so I don't have much experience.... I also find it difficult to get in the 4 cups of required vegetables a day but when I space them out, it is a lot more manageable.

For instance, I will have a cup of sliced cucumber with salt around 11 and then at lunch I will have a soup with 1 cup of roasted zucchini. I then have 1 cup of veggies in mid-afternoon and then at dinner, I get the last cup in with whatever meat I am eating.

Hope this helps and congrats on starting!!

Hi Guys I just wanted to add I was in an IP clinic yesterday looking at the ingredients of an egg omelette protein pack they have, and the ingredients are... eggs, basically, so I figured there was no point buying the packets when fresh eggs are cheap and tasty! I had one whole egg and two extra egg whites scrambled with shallot and mushroom this morning yum.

HELP......i have been fighting this flu for the past 3 days and have not been able to eat most of my meals. The only thing i can keep "up" is actually chicken noodle soup. Will this throw me off?? I'm very worried.

hi there mbord1973..... I am sorry that you aren't feeling well... the flu sucks!

I would have to think, getting down what you can is important but if you cannot stomach any veggies/salad then at least you can keep the soup down.

perhaps Wuv or Wayward can pop in and offer some words of advice for you... they both have been OP for a long time and I'm sure they can help.

Good afternoon fellow newbies!! Week 2 is more challenging than week 1 I am finding but I am finding new foods to incorporate into my day to keep things from getting stale! This week is definitely tougher getting my water in but I'm pushing through! We can do this!!

good day!

I am already finding that I am bored of a few veggies... I am not very creative so I know I will have to branch out eventually.

Can you offer any ideas on variations that you liked??
