Okay! I found my post, haha!! I have recognized this for months now but for some reason struggle with putting my foot down. Just ate two cookies..... I have to make this happen! How are yall doing it?? I honestly dont know where to begin as far as diets. I have tried many, but stick to it for a week.
I am already finding that I am bored of a few veggies... I am not very creative so I know I will have to branch out eventually.
Can you offer any ideas on variations that you liked??
FinnStevens thread with recipes has really given me some great new ideas but I've switched from just eating salad to roasting my veggies with various seasonings but also making mashed cauliflower to help kick my craving for mashed potatoes!! Defintely try new spices and see what you like!!
I'm also lucky because my mother is a fabulous cook and gives me so many great spices to use!

Don't look at it as a diet but rather a new beginning! It is difficult not to cheat but make sure you are keeping extra packets, drinks or bars around in case you get the urge to cheat then you can just satifsy that craving with something else. I keep a chocolate drink with my because I know that if I'm around sweet stuff that I will be craving it and I won't be able to deal so I just have the chocolate drink and it helps to get me through.
People always say to take it day by day but I find that it's too hard for me to do that. I take it meal by meal and sometimes hour by hour. Try not to look at the end result but at mini victories along the way like drinking all your water or trying a new vegetable!

I don't consider it a diet but more so a lifestyle change. I also don't look at what I cannot have in terms of food, but what I can have. I am only on day 5 and I only experience hunger twinges just before meal times because I spread my veggies out over the day.
Would it be nice to eat a bag of chips? Absolutely. But, I do not like how I feel after when I used to do that and just because I can't have some right now, doesn't mean I can never have them again!
good luck on your decision and remember, this is for YOU!

thanks for popping in and congrats on 5 weeks OP!!
has it gotten easier for you the longer you continue? and yes, this forum is awesome for support and encouragement... I'm happy you found it too!
HI, yes it has gotten easier for the most part - my biggest problem at first was finding a routine and finding the IP packets that I liked. I have gotten the hang of it however I still do crave the occasional cupcake

that is great to hear! I agree on the routine... finding what works, what doesn't is important. while my hubby was eating copious amounts of chocolate last night, I had a hot cocoa shake and felt no deprivation at all! sometimes a cupcake would be fantastic though...
Funny you should mention that, my laundry is all caught up, recycling is all done, clutter is taken care of...energy I haven't had energy for a couple of years!

If you haven't made the turnip fries yet then make sure you do. I was getting a little burned out on some of the veggies I was eating too, but these fries are amazing.

I made them the other day.... they were really good! thanks!
Today is day 1 for me also and it has not been the best day. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better. Lets keep each other encouraged.
