So I feel good about the three lbs weight loss last week--that puts me 3 lbs over my goal! I had planned on losing 36 lbs, from 253, and so far I have lost 39!!--Cant complain!
I would like to get below 210 by the next challenge but we will see. so many different factors go into losing weight, huh?
What is good is that I really have a regular habit of working out--both walking and doing calisthenics while watching tv--I turn on the tv and start warming up. So I get some good abs, stretches and leg exercises almost every day.
Edzard: dont give up--we have all had bad weeks (months, years)! You can do it! just keep posting and motivating yourself. It is worth it!
Elegant: great job! You will reach your goal in no time. Have you thought at all about maintenance? I think that can be the hardest part.
Helpmelose: great job! You are doing it! sometimes shifting eating plans can have a good effect-at least initially. What exercise are you doing?
Seasoning: good job resisting the junk--that is especially hard when it is a habit. Good for you for staying busy. For me sometimes chewing a strong gum can help too. I am still calming down from last week and am willing this week to be relaxing.
Have a great week everyone--we are on the home stretch and still can do a lot of losing before labor day!
Down 1 more. (no weigh in last week, TOM steered clear of scale). My final weigh in for the challenge will have to be Friday as we are leaving on a 2 week camping trip. So this should be my BEST WEEK EVER!
Thank you so much for the challenge Sno. Although I didnt reach my goal, I did make it further than I have for years, and will use this as a jumping off point for my New Years Goal!
Snow: What I did was planned out my entire month, and do some cardio (on the treadmill - jogging and walking) most days, and crunches and then rotate in some strength training and pilates. Most of these are dvd's. That is awesome that you passed your goal!!! Congrats!!
Elegant: I am doing low carb, I really just watch what I am eating, no breads, pasta, sugar, etc. Breakfast usually - low carb shake, lunch - subway salad, and dinner - soups, chili, steak, grilled chicken and veggies - pretty simple and I have had no cravings. You can also see above what I am doing for exercise. Congrats on getting into the 130's, I can't wait to be there!!!
Well I am at my goal, or as good as! I am 187.5 so I am very excited, I have fluxuated below that once or twice been seen the 187 number enough now to declare it offical!! Woot, and there is still time left so we will see, unfortunatley I was almost here like 3 weeks ago so I started an Aug. challenge to be at 182 by sept 1st (or more importantly to me Sept 5th my sons bday) but I am not sure it will happen, all I can do is try!
I have already decided what to make by Christmas/Birthday Goal based off a Thanksgiving challenge so I can't wait to start that up! Well here is hoping I can take it a little further than I have so far!
Some great success stories! Glad to hear you all are doing so well--just remember any loss is great--we do the goals to motivate ourselves, not upset ourselves.
Barb: great job--158--you must be really happy--any celebration or shopping spree planned?
Helpmelose: sounds like you have a healthy exercise and eating plan that works for you--good job! Keep up the good work--you will definitely loss it all for the next challenge!
Edzard: you have reached your goal! there is some time before the end of the challenge so the rest is all gravy!
Yes, I think this group is making some outstanding progress. Congrats to you, Edzard, Barb, and Snow! And helpmelose, your exercise plan sounds awesome! My weight hasn't changed in the last three days, so I'm going to try something new. I've been a morning exerciser for years, but I think I'll try doing it in the evening for a while just to shake things up. Evening is my worst time for temptation, so maybe it will keep me busy and keep my resolve up.
Congratulations to all the "losers" isn't it great to be one? I am totally taking a chill attitude this month but am starting to feel a little anxious about my loss this month. I really want to meet my goal of 5 pounds but I think it may very well be impossible with the relaxed exercise I am getting.
Still, I'm doing hardcore cardio every other day with yoga the days when I have no cardio. I had intended to step things up and do cardio everyday but I'm breaking in new kicks and they are giving me crazy blisters. I spent all day trying to find blister block and finally ordered one from amazon so until then...back to the beat up old-almost no cushion left-avias I started with.
Checkin in on a Saturday because I weighed in even though TOM is right around the corner and....I am down 2.5 more pounds to 113!!
I could barely believe my eyes, before I stepped on the scale I told myself that I would be ok with it remaining at 115.5...maintaining isn't all that bad...but....nope...it showed a loss and I am ecstatic and I hope that this is the big push I needed to meet my long term goal.
I have lost almost 31 pounds of my original goal of 40.....wow...I started at 220, and ended up at 189!! (goal was 180) I didn't realize I have come so far! Only 9 pounds short...of a very steep goal lol. Cool beans! Thank you guys soooo much for being here when I needed you! Can't WAIT for the next challenge!!
Today I went shopping with a freind of mine and ended up buying a bunch of expensive tops--they were so cute I just couldnt resist. I think shopping, trying on clothes and seeing myself in the mirror is really good because it helps me to really look at my body and see how much weight I have lost. I realize when I was thin I always thought I was fat. I never wore clothing I wanted to--like shorts or jeans because I thought I would look too fat. I just couldnt see myself. And I think my unrealistic expectation to be model thin is what got me seriously obese--dieting when I was actually at a good weight for my height and then gaining it all back plus some.
Anyway. I am looking forward to the new challenge too! My weight has not moved at all this week--hopefully in the next day or two! I have been pretty hungry which usually happens when I am losing so heres hoping!
Congrats again Lekhikha--you really deserve that weight loss for all the consistent exercise you do. I know you think you should do more but to me it sounds just right.
Mary--great to hear from you--finally! I know, I know you are in school. What are you studying. I am so proud for all the weight you have lost--189 is a whole different country from 220, huh? You must be so pleased.
Wow! Snow! I think I had missed your post about you being over and beyond your goal for Labor Day! That must be a sweet feeling!
And MARY! Your loss rocks as well! I am so glad you were able to push past your depression and feel good about what really matters...you've lost an a$$load of weight!
LOL thanks Lekhika...I really have lost an..errr..buttload LOL.
Sno, I am a double major in Graphic Design and Nursing, and this year I am graduating with the art degree and am in the middle of preparing my senior exhibit, and finishing off my co-req's for clinicals (to free up time when I start clinicals) and eagerly awaiting my acceptance letter to see if I EVEN MAKE IT into clinicals! LOL..So I am SOMEWHAT stressing.
