hi everyone,
i would like to join this please? i joined this site ages ago, lost a bunch of weight then gained it all back and more
starting again today at 258lbs (funny i'm embarresed of that number even on an online forum)
i am going to be calorie counting as this worked for me before. my goals for today are to eat healthy food aiming for 1600 calories, do 15 minutes on my excerise bike and go for a 15 minute walk, i am keeping my daily goals small for now.
i am going on holiday in 8 weeks and would like to lose some weight by then.
thanks for having me

Welcome back hun!! So glad you've decided to try again. 8 weeks should be plenty if time to make a significant difference. You can add yourself on the spreadsheet just input rge details into the purple boxes and your name abd target weight, then it should be able to do tge rest. I know TakingControl has a little bit if fiddling around with the formula but dont worry about that for now.

Don't be embarrassed about your weight here. We're all here for the same reason and to help each other.

Good luck and keep us posted!!

i have tried to put my details on the sheet, not sure if i have done it right lol. i am still in panic mode i suppose wanting the weight off now, but that is normal for a lot of people and will wear off.
good luck with your weightloss, are you following any plan?

Don't worry about the spreadsheet for now. The formula and grids need sorting.I'll take another look tonight or tomorrow and see if i can work it out. Lol ask me to write a programme or dismantle a pc I'm great... But spreadsheets... Gah!!

I'm following the age old tried and tested calorie counting with light aerobic stuff on the Wii and walking more. Started at 1500cals a day and after Idk 3 weeks or so I've dropped it to 1300cals purely because i was struggling to eat it all I need to be a bit careful of my knees, after carrying this extra weight for so long... They're not too great but getting better slowly.

Swimming is great!! I really miss it. Haven't swam for about 10years, purely because of my size. So I've lost touch with how much it costs these days. Have you thought about water aerobics instead? I'm guessing you'd get more of a workout for your buck lol

How bad is your back? I only ask as my dad had some slipped discs and I can remember some exercises that were good for him back in the day.

i love swimming too Lozz, like you i havent gone for ages because i am too embarresed, but will defiantley be taking it up again soon. i don't think it costs too much, and i know most council owned pools have a saver card thing, where you pay a set amount and can use the pool as many times as you want for a period of time. excersise isn't really an issue for me, apart from laziness, i work in a care home so for 7 hours a day i am constantly running around and not off my feet for very long other than my breaks. diet is my problem, i get home at 9pm some days and just eat crap, because i am hungry and too tired to make anything healthy. and to be honest i just like the taste of junk food. will have to make sure my fridge is stocked up with healthy lower calorie things that dont need any effort to make.

Hi BM - well done on your weight loss and for keeping it off.

How's everyone doing this week? I'm still full of a cold and not really been recording my calories as my appetite hasn't been good. Will get back on the horse when I feel better.

What about this lovely weather? Brill isn't it?

CM - I've been doing really well even with all the stupid stress over the last few days. So well in fact, I did an unofficial WI this morning, and I'm down to 306 and abit... However, I've started bloating out... Whiiich is about right. Damn you AF!!! Time to go back on the water tablets for a week and hope it helps.

I'm sorry girls! I'm still around, just about. Uni work is killing me, but I'm being naughty and hanging out in the sunshine instead of beating it!!

Keep going, and I'll be back on the horse again soon

today was an absolute scorcher and my cheeks got sunburnt lol, hope it stays this way!
256 on the scale today, for now i am going to weigh myself everyday so i can see trends etc based on what i am eating / doing. i don't get periods so bonus is no bloated weeks so i dont have that excuse if i gain. did quite well today, stuck to a reasonable calorie amount, went for a short walk plus i was working so a lot of running around the home and up and down stairs. i like to eat at night too, so made sure i have lots of healthy snacks, rather than trying to deprive myself.
i bought sesame seed ryvitas and light chive philly cheese, actually delicious! and only 37 cals per ryvita and 48 per 30g cheese.
anyone got any suggestions for low cal snacks here in the UK?

MissSMcC - Just to let you know I've sorted the spreadsheet... it took me the best part of 4 hours, but I FINALLY got my head round it!! I've put your start weight under this weeks so at the weekend you can input your first official loss... we hope!! lol

As for low cal snacks... snack a jacks are gooood, any sort of rice cake really and because they're so low cal i like to put some egg mayonnaise on top. A regular thing at lunch with some cucumber and maybe some low cal low fat potato salad mmmmmmmYummy lol

Okies everyone, I'll keep an eye on the spreadsheet over the next week or so or until TC is back in the land of weight loss lol, and hopefully it will just be a matter updating some formulas once we've WI... Now I know how to do it, it shouldn't take me as long!!
