I really do care, because you're such a sweet guy and if I can help you even just a little then I will. Stay strong this week, remember why you're doing this.
'Joselo2'. I haven't exactly been doing it everyday. I find with the exeption of today the days I did it were the best. partly because knowing I had to write it down made me more accountable for over eating... and also on bad days I sort of chose to avoid it I am going to try and do it most days now. I am trying, I promise, just this is a veeery steep learning curve for me. Awww, thank you so much xxx

He he, it would be at least a little bit funny if she fell in Lozz..

Yay!! I don't know what to do with the exercise bit though,... mine currently involves just trying to walk as much as I can manage. I might try some swimming I think.

On another note, I read an artical in one of the weekend newspaper supplements about a man who was about my size who lost half his body weight. It was interesting reading- he never doubted the health benefits he enjoyed, and that he was glad he did it, but he did talk about the troubles it bought in terms of identity, having always been known and known himself as a big man, and also experienced lots of guilt about that he got to that size, once he'd lost enough to really reflect on it all. I did not realise the emotional roller coaster involved!!

To be honest jose i dont put it on beause it then tells me I have more cals to "spend" and it starts to confuse me as I keep track of my carbs and sodium intake too now. I would only use that function as a guide and maybe keep a physical log in a note book using mfp to work our how many cals you've burnt off. btw welcome to mfp lol

OK, I just jumped on the bandwagon, no idea how to add people, but I'm takingcontrol2419. Never been one for cal counting, im far too lazy. Was surprised it only gave me 1200 a day though, I'd have thought I'd be allowed more!

I logged just under 1000 calories today. Usually I'm careful to stick at around 1200 and not go under, but all I've been doing today is lying around on my backside because of the weather and starting my time of the month, so I'm hoping I won't retain anything due to being under. I just can't eat any more, I'm full - I had mostly protein based food such as eggs, soy yogurt and Quorn fillets. Phew!

Food is my enemy Matchmallow, if I could I would love to eat, eat, eat all day everyday. I can't comprehend being too full to eat.....!

I ate about 1500 today apparantly, but I'm cool with that!

Will see how tomorrow looks, but I'm not convinced that I'll keep at it!

Same here TC, I don't even know full, i've not hardly met the limits of my appetite, the food nearly always runs out before me!

MyFitnessPal says my calorie intake should be just under 3,000. Today I hit 3,253. The fat was actually fine, just too many cals. It would have been fine had it not been a caramel shortbread I had at lunch. I had no need or it, it was just greed. Nearly 500cals, gone in a few bites, aagh!!

Yesterday was about 4400

Fresh start Monday!!
xxx

You're moving in the right direction Joselo, and that's what counts.

Your calories are coming down, and your awareness is going up. Together they equal win!

Tell yourself now that you WILL be inside your calories tomorrow, imagine coming on here tomorrow night and telling us that you did it, imagine feeling good about yourself, feeling good about your food choices. Imagine it being a little easier on Tuesday once you get tomorrow out of the way.

Having to fight the urges and having to battle with yourself will soooooo be worth it for all of the above hey? Now go kick some ***!

What sorts of things are you eating through the day, Jose? If you have healthy meal optons that aren't above 600-700 calories it will be harder for you to go over your calories. And if you swap your sweets and unhealthy snacks for healthier versions like a fruit smoothie or sorbet, it could really help!

Woo so nearly at 140 now.. weighing in at 140.2 today . Only 0.6lb down but I'll seriously take that . Just 5lbs to get to my original goal for this challenge. Can't wait to see the 130s.

Nice one, PB! I started my time of the month yesterday, so I'm up a couple of pounds but I know it's not fat because I've been working out well and sticking to 1200 cals per day. Still annoying though, haha!

Thought I'd wander over and join you guys here. I see takingcontrol has a shiny spreadsheet to keep track of us, so here's some more numbers to put in: I'm 209 for my first weigh in of this challenge. (And I was 237.2 when it started in April, that's making me grin hugely.)

So googledocs does spreadsheets, eh? Does it do graphs too? I have so much raw weight data collected, I yearn to see it in pretty graphs.

JoseLo, do I detect another Guardian reader? Also, mmm, caramel shortbread. I can see why that tempted you. But in a way it's good that you ate it, because now you know it can be the difference between enough calories and too many calories for the day, and that knowledge should help you resist in the future. Good luck!

This time of the month thing is confusing the heck out of me. Marchmallow, is gaining a bit around then the norm? I was on the pill when I started this whole weight thing, and only came off it on the 10th of May. Bled 14th-18th, and again today, which is only three weeks apart so obviously it's taking time to settle down back to normal, but I seem to have dropped rather than gained - 1.6lbs less this morning than yesterday. (Awesomely happy about the drop though, it's taken me below fifteen stone!) Can anyone shed any light on common menstruation-related fluctuation patterns?

Hiya brid. I have to say that I hate weighing in when I'm either due or on, because I feel its not a true reading. I take it with a pinch of salt at those times now, but as long as my trousers get looser I don't care lol

I'm about to go online properly as I'm on my phone right now and I'll pop you on the spreadsheet with the numbers you've posted here.

In terms of how I'm doing today... Meh, one of my issues has reappeared. Won't go into detail buy its not much fun. But food wise, I've been good and have enjoyed it too. I needed that day off yesterday and I when I checked to see if it had an impact on my weight, I was pleased to have maintained. So its all good I guess
