Aqua - I'm glad you went to the doctor and that you'll be on a different type of plan. You may not lose quite as fast, but you'll be in much better spirits. And possibly have more lasting results. I'm glad you and your doctor will be working to get everything squared away on Monday. Take good care of yourself Chickadee! lol We sure do give a lot of hugs around here, don't we?! I've heard fantastic things about WW. I'm sure you'll have a lot of success with it. What does your doctor recommend? Have you considered a nutritionist?
Melissa - The compliments are well deserved. You were brave to be the first one to post pictures. I'm sure one of the things most of us have in common is that we don't like having to look at what we've done to ourselves. It's funny. I don't always feel fat. I look in the mirror and I don't see it. But then I see a picture and yikes! There it is. It's funny, but over the past 9 or 10 years I've been convincing myself that I'm not as large as I appear in pictures.

Danielle - I'm a cookie monster! I love them! Oreos are good, but my fave store bought brand is Chips-A-Hoy. Hands down.
I understand completely what you mean about us having to change our lifestyles. If we don't, we could lose all this weight and be back 2 years later. Heavier and possibly less healthy. I love low carb too. I feel a lot better and sleep better. The night my husband and I had that pizza, just felt awful. I used to feel that way all the time, but thought it was normal. Plus I've noticed that my skin is a lot clearer. I think I just don't digest sugar, flour and dairy (except for yogurt) very well. When you don't digest things well, the body will try to work those toxins out through the skin. Also, between the low carb and the water, my appetite is not nearly what it once was.
Yes, low carb does get a horrible rap. I'm eating more vegetables now than I would be eating otherwise.
Anna - I'm sorry to hear about the car. It sucks that they seem to be going back on what they promised. Why can't people just be honest?

Well how did everyone do on water today? I made my goal again...2 days down, 5 to go till my mat! Oh and I found a scale today I want to get at Costco. It does the tenth of a pound, big foot area and only $30. Didnt like what the numbers said but they are bound to be different from the scale I use now. That may be my next challenge reward! LOL!

Morning all. Thanx for the compliments on the girls. Those girls are my pride and joy and my reason for major improvement. Like I mentioned before I don't want them to have the poor eating habits that my husband and I do and so we have discussed overhauling our diet. If I start cooking healthy all of the time now, by the time they really start eating table food it will be a habit and that is all I will cook. They will grow up on healthy food and I will be good at cooking it. Right now, I am use to cooking the fattening way. Yesterday, i picked up Richard Simmons cookbook from the library. Unfortunately, I didn't like any of the recipes when I looked through the book last night, but I will be going back until I find one that does have recipes that I like. I am going to learn how to cook lighter and healthier. I hear that applesauce is a good alternative to butter or sugar in some recipes. There are other things and I am going to find them out and start using them. I'll be sure to post.
Gosh, you guys are putting me to shame. I don't really have any pics of myself. You know, even since the girls have been born, I haven't taken any pics with me holding the girls or anything. I just hate taking pics these days. I have a digital camera, so there is no excuse. I will try to get my husband to take some pics so that I can post. Ugh!

Amany- Oh yeah we use 'em, we need hugs around here. Doc tells me some people get set into an arrythmia because they aren't eating enough, too much caffiene, etc... So he does think weght loss is a good idea, but to take it in better strides. So, that's what I'm going to do. I haven't put much thought into a nutritionist, but I'm sure they would be helpful.

Good Morning Ladies I jest want to start and Say that I got up this morning and Cooked me Breakfast and Did a 30 Min Weight Bench Routine and then 8 Min Abs and 50 Stomach Crunches . I am hopeing to get a little more in Before the day goes by. Tomorrow is Sunday and I will Not be doing anthing . I believe that you have to have one day of rest and it is ususally Sunday.
U2girl I jest wanted to say that you have some Beautiful Girls I Kinda Miss having babies running around the house . Now I have two Grand Babies from my Step Children.
AquaChick I can tell you I have know some people who have been on WW and they have done well. I have several cook books and I like the recipes in them they are like having real food with out the diet taste. I hope it all works out for you .

My Doc put me on the Zone. It Is susposed to stable your Insulin Level. I can tell you that I can tell. When I eat a High Carb I feel so sleepy and Terrible. Now I try to stick to Whole Grains . They sure do make me feel better.
Butterfly, I can certainly identify with sugar making you feel tired and sluggish. It does the same thing to me. It started when I was around 25 and was so bad that I thought I'd become diabetic or something. Thankfully I'm not. Granulated and brown sugar are both just bad, bad stuff. Flour too.
I have a challenge for you ladies!!
It takes 21 days to form a habit. According the book, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. I haven't read the book, but I read about it.
I think we all know that exercise must be a part of long-lasting weight loss. My challenge, starting Aug 14 (Monday) is for each of us to exercise 4 - 6 days per week. Aerobic exercise. 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour... Whatever you choose to do. It can be dancing, brisk walking, a video, mowing a lawn... Whatever you want! Starting August 14 and and ending September 3.
The reward will be a new, healthy habit. The person who exercises the most will be rewarded with an even healthier habit and firmer body. Who's up for the challenge?
PM me when you have exercised and each Sunday, starting August 20, I will post the number of days you have exercised for the week. Remember it must be aerobic exercise! If you miss a day and decide to double up on another day, that's perfectly fine. It will count for 2 days.
So what do you think? Let me know.
I am kind of proud of myself, I weighed myself today and I am down to 261! that is 14lbs gone! And I am doing it the right way, watching what I am eating and excersing. No more diet pills or throwing up. I just wanted to tute my horn a bit.
Thank you everyone for the advice about my date today. I am meeting him later this afternoon so I will report on how it went.

AFternoon Ladies, okay computer fixed got a couple virus's yesterday and took the morning to clean itup, oh yeah and sleep. well the dealer fixed the price so he is keeping the car and yesterday I got 126 oz in yeah.

Well I knew it was too much to ask for, the neighbors were at it again last night. I can't even stay up later than usual because I start thinking they'll come home and I'll get woken up and won't be able to sleep. How's that for living???? It was pouring rain, I mean the cats & dogs kind and yet there they sat, out on the balcony. Since it was raining, it tends to be loud, whoever was up there talking, talked super loud to be heard. Ridiculous! Of course we called security and by the time they showed up, all the jerks had finally gone inside. They kept dh and I up until at least 4am and he had to be at work by 8. I am one tired monkey today!!!
Elycia, your girls are absolutely gorgeous! You have much to be proud of. I think it's wonderful that you are taking stock in your eating habits now why they are little enough to never know the difference later. I wish I had woken up sooner and gotten in shape either before I had kids or why they were babies. It's been a slow slow process weening them from sugar and to eat healthy. My son who's 13 is all for eat and has easily adapted my lifestyle, my girls on the other hand (10&12) are not so easily convinced. LOL So you are definitely doing a good thing for your family!!

I so love the benefits I get from lc'ing. My nails grow super fast and my skin clears up so much I look like a teen! My hair falls out alot tho, so not too happy about that!

Well guys, I have more shopping to do today. I am so exhausted! It's not bad enough that I'm just tired from interrupted sleep, but man do my feet ever hurt nowadays! All this extra weight is just miserable to haul around, I hate feeling like this. My kids wonder why I gotta stop and "rest" for a minute when we're out cause I just can't take it! Only one more reason to lose this weight!! Never in my life did I think I would have issues with walking or my limbs. Ugh!!!
So I'm off to the showers to spend the rest of the day shopping! You guys be good and keep shining.

Just think of the great results we'll all get by exercising! Better muscle tone, more energy and greater weight loss. On top of that we will have grown to really love it. Or at least not mind it so much.
I did Tae Bo this morning. Billy Blanks' first one. I used to really hate that tape, but now it doesn't seem so bad. Can you guys believe that Billy Blanks is around 60?! Amazing... I did Pilates too and it's starting to get better. I started placing my feet under a chair to do the upward curl. I tried to add my old, old Yoga for Abs to my rotation, but it's just too doggone annoying to me.
Butterfly - I think you're going to be such an inspiration to the rest of us. 120 minutes a day?! That's outstanding! I hope I fall in love with exercise the way you have.
Danielle - Thank you for your kind words. You all are so great for my self-esteem! You know what? My nails have been growing a lot too lately. I hadn't been able to figure out why. Another benefit to low carbing. I just love the ease of it all. And I love feeling this way.

Glad to hear everything worked out with the car. That car sounded so nice, I'm sure you'd have hated to return it. I need to go the the grocery store as well. I just let things fall apart this week. I decided not to ever let the fridge get this low again. Had I not done it, it would have eliminated the need to buy salad from a restaurant. And I certainly wouldn't have had that pizza the other night. I'm going to end up having to go to either Meijer or Super K tonight. Today has been a totally lazy day for me.
Well, speaking of shopping, I guess I'll get up and do it. It's 8:52 pm, and I'm about to shop for my groceries. Terrible, terrible.... Thank goodness for 24 hour places!
