Good Thursday Morning everyone!!

Danielle...how was last night? I hope you all got to sleep all night and no neighbor sightings!

Aqua...so glad to see you are feeling a little better, and i'm even happier to see that you have an appt scheduled!

Brat...I dunno how anyone has the energy for summer classes LOL! Once Spring semester is over I'm ready for a nice long break. Especially since that is when my girls school stuff really gets into high gear.

Amanda....girl at least it wasnt a gain!! These plateaus are just our body gearing up to lose again! Patience is so hard right now but I know you'll win the battle!! Just keep up the good work!

Anna...I hope car shopping was uneventful!! Good luck on that! did you get that water goal?!

Mia...I think I saw the infomercial for gliding disks awhile ago but I cant remember, I'm no help there! Sorry!

Alright so it looks like everyone is off and ready to do this water challenge. Maybe we should post up our goals and our rewards for making the goal? Just to keep us all accountable. Also, is today our official start date on that? My goal is to do 100 oz of water daily and if I can do that for 7 straight days I'm going to buy myself a yoga mat for doing my strength training on.

I must must must get my lawn mowed today!!! No excuses and its REALLY good exercise!! I can proudly report that I did go on a walk last night with my dog! I did about 1 1/4 miles. The first part and the last part are over this big ol hill. Its a viaduct that goes over the railroad yard. Got my heart a pumping for sure! I hope to do that again today! And my eating was pretty okay yesterday, I could make some better choices but its going in the right direction.

I'm off to mow...really I am!! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Happy Thursday! I can honestly say that last night was the first night with no noise since the guys moved in! Was very nice. Now that I think about it, I wonder if anyone was even home up there? Maybe they were over somewhere bothering someone else's neighbors!

Aqua, relieved you're well today but still going to the dr.

Anna, have fun looking at cars. I HATE car shopping and my dh sells them! Just the whole process bugs me, all the back and forth. I'm just an impatient person by nature so all the haggling is pointless to me really. I hope the trip is smooth for you and SO gets his car.

Mia, nope never heard of the sliding discs, surprising as I usually sucker myself into watching informercials from make up to car partsm hopefully someone here has tried them.

Amanda, great to hear you in good spirits despite your horrendous week. Hopefully the remainder will go uneventful. Don't even worry about the scale not moving, it will in a matter of time. You're doing great!

Melissa, hope you finally got the lawn mowed, I know it drives you nuts to not have it done. WtG on the walk last night! Keeping my fingers crossed you can do it again tonight. Your water reward is a good one, I love my mat. Never thought it could make such a difference but it does. Was nice to stop sliding from one side of the room to the other!

I still need to think of a reward for the water thing. Like Melissa asked, when is our start and stop days?

Tonight is orientation for my kids at school. 2hrs at the middle school-not looking forward at all! My littlest one, luckily only needs to go and meet her teacher at her school, so not too bad. Only 4 more days and I'm a free woman! I think I forgot how to use that free time. I'm sure I will remember quick tho!

Have a great day girls. Be beautiful and be good to you.

Hello Everyone!

Mia - I've never heard of gliding disks. I hope someone is able to answer your question though.

Melissa - Thank your for all your encouragement. I appreciate it. A yoga mat as a reward. You really do have your head in the right place. Healthier habit (drinking water) = exercise equiptment.

I sort of feel like I'd be cheating with the water challenge. I've been drinking over a gallon of water daily for a few weeks now. I'll gracefully exempt myself from any rewards. But the challenge will keep me on the right track, and I'll post my daily intake. Maybe we should post our daily intake the day after. There are a few things that have helped me:

The first thing I do every morning is get a cold glass of water. I read that when you do that, you tend to crave water for the rest of the day. I don't know why that works, or even makes sense, but it seems to work for me. I also make sure that I've had at least two 16 oz cups or glasses of water before I leave home in the morning. I also keep my water container with me at all times. I have some disposable plastic cups in my cabinet at work in case I forget my container. So I literally drink it all day long. Right now I'm up to about 90 oz.

Whew...just had to report that I did it! LOL...yes I'm very proud of myself that lawn has been a thorn in my side for a few days now. But, alas I'm sweating like a piggy and I stink, so I'm off to the shower and then the girls and I are off to the exhibits at the fair. Food shouldnt be too big a problem for me since really the only thing I love there is a carmel apple. I love now that they slice the apple up for you and give you a lil carmel for dip, now if only they'd start using the fat free carmel! LOL Sure I could eat more but if I'm gonna splurge on alot of calories I'd rather it be some chicken lo mein!

Have a lovely afternoon everyone I'll be checking on you later!

Oh..I almost forgot...danielle...YAY!!! a quiet night!! LOL! I'm so excited for you!

Yanno, it's a sad day when I've gotta cheer for a quiet night of sleep! I mean seriously, what a weird world I'm living in right now.

Melissa, I'm glad you got your lawn all done now you can relax and not have that pestering you in the back of your mind. I hope you enjoy the fair and all it's offerings! Here, it's just to dang hot to enjoy anything like that so we have never even attempted it. Which is probably a good thing because I love fair food.

Amanda, you have been doing great with the water chicky! I like your idea of having it first thing in the morning. I think you may be right about it making you crave it the rest of the day when you drink first thing, when I am doing great with water I tend to drink it first thing and then that's all I want all day long. However, I've been a very naughty girl with it the last month or so and haven't been doing that, so I'm gonna try it again in the a.m. How's work today, hopefully no more drama for you for awhile!

Melissa I love the idea of a yoga mat. WTG you have inspired me there. if in 7 days i continue to hit 100 oz then i get a new pedometer. every goal counts right? i almost to 80 though i have to bottle the rest as I am staying out of town tonight and the water there sucks. ucky. country girl going into the city. I love my well water

oo got to go, okay sorry I can't do the rest of the personals now, will hopefully be near a computer later. have to be there in 30 minutes hmm its a 45 minute drive. i officially hate car shopping. when i get there i get there.

Hello ladies:

Sorry I haven't been around much today. It has been quite a busy day. I FINALLY got my kitchen floor mopped. I have been trying to get to that forever it seems like. Now, I need to tackle my oven.

Unfortunately, I really did not take much stock of how much water I drank today. I know I drank alot, but just not sure how much! I did not drink any pop today. Yay! Everytime I drank something I reached for water.

Amanda, sorry things are going so awful. But you are keeping a great attitude.

Danielle, glad that you were able to get some sleep. It does sound weird that you are hooraying over a nice of sleep. Funny the things that we take for granted. Here's to another night of sleep

Anna, wish you the best with your car shopping. Not long ago, we bought a van and we did some shopping first so I know what you are dealing with. What are you trying to buy a car? SUV?

Melissa ~ Great! You got that lawn mowed. Got some work done and some activity in as well. Good for you!

Mia, those gliding discs workouts are pretty fun I hear. I have not tried. I believe that Mindy Mylrea is the instructor and she is a toughy. She is very advanced and very hyper. If these are the workouts that I am thinking of I saw them at my local Walmart about 6 months ago. If you decide to get them, you must let me know what you think. I know that my fitness level will not allow me to even think of doing such a workout. Ha Ha Ha

Melissa and Danielle, you must tell us some of the things that you did to lose all of the weight that you did when you lost it before. Love to hear your success stories.

Speaking of Success Stories, I was reading through some of my old fitness and shape magazines and was really inspired by some of the success stories. I think I want to be one of those success stories. I am going to take a before pic and when I get to my goal and have kept the weight off for a while, I am going to submit my story. I think that would be interesting.

Well, guys I am going to try to do better on water tomorrow so that I can post some actual numbers tomorrow. I better get going. My little ones just won't go to sleep for some reason.

Oh yeah, Stacy, nice to see ya.

Ciao!

Elycia

Hello fellow chicks. Sorry that I have not been on in a while. I was on vacation in CA and just have been lazy I guess. Well, after my visit with my dr. about gastric bypass, I decided that I am just going to try to lose the weight the old fashioned way. Going to the gym and picking better choices to eat. I have gone to the gym three times this week alrady and I feel really good about myself.

So how is everyone? I have a question for anyone who would like to give me some advice. I am going on a date with this guy that I met on match.com, and I am really nervous. He is a personal trainer and I am just afriad that when he sees me, he will turn and run because I am curvy. Can anyone give me some advice please-pretty please. I have not been on a date in a long time and I am apprehensive about it.

I hope everyone is doing well and I will chat with you later!

Hi.

I won't be able to address everyone right now. I'm way too tired and I really need to go to bed. Quickly I just wanted to say that Elycia, submitting a story with pictures to a magazine would be a great idea. I love reading those stories and seeing the before and after pics. In fact, why don't we all take progressive pics once a month?

I'd been toying around with the idea of having Hubby take a pic of me every mid-month just so I can see my own progress. I'll probably post a link in my signature area. It would be really cool if others did it too. Maybe we'd be good motivation for one another.

Elycia...Danielle and I did Slimfast before, I think we both took off about 75 lbs back then. Thats actually how we met on another weightloss support board, and at the time we both lived in Phoenix so we met and have been friends every since. I'd say the biggest thing for my success then was that support group, it was very much the same as this group now. When you've got this many people standing behind you waiting to cheer you on to success, and they are always there for you if you fall off the wagon. I tell you it will take you FAR! We did a ton of challenges then, had something going every single week, and then fun stuff daily too. Water..oh I was so good at drinking water back then! And journalling. those 3 things made the reduced calories doable.

Laramie...I married my highschool sweetheart so i'm no expert on dating at all. But I would advise you to be yourself. Dont try to make yourself into someone you think he is looking for. Stay true to who you are, and if he doesnt like it, then he's not the one for you. Hey, if it did work out you'd have your very own trainer!! That could be fun!
As far as GB surgury, I looked at it once for a little while, but decided I just couldnt live that way the rest of my life. I understand why people go that way, for me I would only as the very last resort and it would have to be a serious life or death decision. Its a brave choice to make, I'm too chicken! LOL! But I also know that it can be done without going that far too. Especially when you've got support! Way to go on the gym visits!!!! Thats excellent!! I bet if feels incredible to say you did it too right?! You should be very proud of that accomplishment and keep up the GREAT work!! I can tell already you are going to succeed! You've got so much going for you!!!

Alright ladies, I'm beat! I got in another walk tonight..yay me! LOL!

Good luck on that water tomorrow everyone!! I made my goal of 100 oz and a little more!! 1 day down...6 to go!

Cant wait to see smaller pics of me. My picture of me and my girls at Disneyworld will be my before pic! Great idea!!

Good morning my fellow chickadees! Thank God it's Friday!!! Oh yeah! I don't know what I'll do this weekend, but I'm going to enjoy what's left of the summer. I've been feeling it wind down over the past 2 or 3 weeks. Even when it was ridiculously hot, I could tell it was ending.

Danielle - I hope you guys had peace and quiet last night. If not, I hope you vacuumed your ceiling at 6 am.

Mia - I hope you were able to find more info on those glider disks. If they're not terribly expensive, go ahead and buy them. Then report back!

Aqua - Let us know how you're feeling today and what the doctor says. Since you'd started to feel better maybe it wasn't heart related?

Melissa - Congrats on getting the lawn done. I know you felt better afterwards. You're right about the water helping you to eat less. From what I understand, many times we feel hungry when we're actually thirsty. Our thirst mechanisms get all screwy very early in life because we don't drink enough water.

Laramie - Welcome back girl! I hope you had fun in CA. Yeah, gastric bypass surgery is a big, big deal. Although, I understand completely why some would have it. I just figure, though, that since you still have to change your eating habits and exercise, why bother? It's still work. But that's just my opinion.

Anna & Melissa - Picture partner! Oh goody!! I wish I'd taken a picture a month ago. I'm one of those people who hate to be in pictures. When I weighed less, it was fine. But once I got into the 190s, I didn't like having my picture taken anymore. I will have my husband take some of me this weekend though.

Well, everyone, I'm leaving for now. I'll check back in later. BTW, I drank 140+ oz of water yesterday. I stopped keeping track after then.
