Good afternoon everyone!!!

Bonnie...how did the workout go? Getting that water in? I hope so!! Cheers!

Amanda...those are exactly the things we need to keep thinking of to drive us to success. I just started to read Dr. Phils weightloss solution book and he talks in there about how you dont HAVE to lose weight. You dont HAVE to, you HAVE to breathe, but losing weight is a choice you make. Make that choice so you dont cripple yourself!! My brother has terrible scoliosis, had surgury when he was a teen. Yay skating!! Our rink closed here, my girls were so bummed, you'll have so much fun!!!

Aqua...way to go on your walk!!!! WOOOHOO!! LOL thigh chap!! I got serious thigh chap in Florida walking around in wet shorts!!! Thats funny!

I went to the store and armed myself with a healthy dinner. We are having Teryaki chicken kabobs, corn on the cob and salad. Like I said, I started reading dr. phils book and I dunno, something just kinda clicked so I figured I'd run with it! Gonna make that water goal today!!!! And its so beautiful out I'm sure I'll get a walk in too...see, I started over!!

Melissa - Isn't it great when you read something, see something, have a memory or conversation that just turns the light on for you and makes you decide to be proactive about your health? Aren't you glad we're all going throught this together? I know I am.

Ladies, I'm taking advantage of Exercise TV on On Demand. I'm recording some Pilates workouts. I can feel myself getting stronger with my Leslie Sansone Pilates. I'm actually starting to work through it with little difficulty. I'm going to start changing things up whenever my exercises become too doable. I want to keep challenging myself. Or pumping up the intensity of my workouts by using bigger movements or hand weights. I can't believe I'm actually beginning to like working out. Oh, how I've longed for this moment...

Melissa, dinner sounds yummy. I'm on my way, should be there in a few hours! LOL I hope you find something useful in what Dr Phil has to offer up. I like his no nonsense approach to weight loss. Basically it boils down to you want it or you dont. I really need to dig out my book and read those 7 keys again and reaffirm my thought processes.

Amanda, yay for you and your little exercising butt! I remember there was a time when I couldn't wait to wake up to exercise every morning at 5am. Craved it! I am slowly getting back into the groove--keyword:slowly! 30 min. on the bike at a pretty good clip leaves me pretty winded afterwards. Not to mention my arse is numb. lol Cannot believe how out of shape I have gotten. Time to start crackin the whip around here!!! No more flab, no more excuses!!

Ok, I am really upset with myself! as you girls know I've not been feeling too hot lately, mostly just lethargic and tired. Well, tonight cooking dinner & cleaning up was the last thing I wanted to deal with so we ordered pizza. Argh!!! I had 3 pieces! 3!! And an ice cold Coke to wash it down! Ugh, what was I thinking. All that exercise I've done, all these days of eating good and one meal totally knocks me down. I know all I'm doing is throwing a giant childish tantrum, but I really needed to write this out. I know tomorrow is a new day, blah blah blah, I'm just so darn upset with myself!!

Hey, anyone catch Dateline tonight? Discussing the food industry and how it markets to todays youth. Also talking about food addiction and the affect our brains have in our actions.

Way to go today Bonnie..you did GREAT!!! Excellent job and I hope you keep it up all weekend long! I used to have a stationary bike and I really liked it. I would get on that thing and go for an hour while I watched my shows...my tush was sure sore afterwards though. But it broke and I got myself an elliptical. Now I want a REAL bike!!! I love to go on rides with my girls and i'm looking forward to riding it to school everyday! Keep up the good work!!

Danielle....ugh..pizza! What can I say, the fact that you stopped at 3 slices is a feat in and of itself....for me anyway. Dont be beating yourself up over this lady! Its not worth it, it was just some pizza and coke and its over and done with. Like I said before some days just call for pizza. Today was one of those days. Tomorrow you put it behind you and move on. so you stop that negative talk! I mean it!! You are amazing woman and eating pizza does not negate that!

Okay ladies I'm off to bed!! "see" you in the morning!

Morning Ladies!

Oh, how nice it is to be up all alone early in the morning! I woke up at 5am and decided to stay awake. I think I will try to do this every Saturday. My husband is a prince and I love him to pieces, but I love having the place to myself for a while.

Bonnie - Congrats on the water!! It will become easier and easier. Soon you'll crave it.
I have some Leslie Sansone DVDs. I have Her 2 Mile WATP, Fat Burning 3 Mile and You Can Do Pilates. I love them all! I think I'm going to move the 2 Mile out of my rotation because, like you, I've heard that when exercise becomes too easy it's time to kick it up a notch. I think the next DVDs I get by her will be Walk and Jog and a 5 mile one. Thanks for your encouragement Bonnie!

Danielle... I understand how discouraged you can feel when you slip up. Especially after really getting your resolve together for a while. It's really ok, though. Try to look at the big picture. Like I told Bonnie the other day, when you're making a lifestyle change, going off plan for a day is not a big deal. The only time it's a big deal is when you're dieting. Ok, so you had some pizza and Coke. Glad you enjoyed it. Heck, I agree with Melissa. Some days just call for pizza. Now it's over. Get right back to work. The team needs you!

Melissa - Every time you mention your bike I get so jealous. I really want a tricycle! Do I sound nuts or what?! I 33 year old woman having a fit over a tricycle! I'm waiting to see if the price will drop. I can ride a bike but ohhhh that tricycle!! My husband wants to buy us both bikes, but I won't let him because he won't agree to wear a helmet. Why are men like that?

Well, ladies, until later! Can't wait to go skating today!!

Ok, Bonnie is definitely rubbing off on me. I'm up by myself and need something to do so I figure I may as well exercise! Even though I plan to skate later, maybe I'll do Abs of Steel 2000. This has aerobics and abdominal exercises. Remember that Buns of Steel Series? It's from that.
I had that tape years ago and loved it. So much that I used to do it twice in a row when it became too easy for me. I may need to watch if first this morning though because I haven't done it in about 10 years.

GOOD MORNING CHICKPEAS !!!!!!!

Sugar-N-Spice- I like what you posted. I never wear sleeveless shirts!! Or shorts!!! It definately is a self esteem issue and I feel awkward in front of people. *sigh* People can be hard on the plump, but we are definately hardest on ourselves. Ah, sweetie , so you had some pizza. Just hop back on the train. It's not too big of a biggie, as long as most of the time you are careful about what you eat and excersising too. You know, my husband is in really good shape. (I think he looks like Jude Law- quite a bit actually!.... *hmmm, that might explain the mistress dream*) anyway, he told me yesterday that it isn't so much what you eat. It's controlling how much you eat,but all the WW in the world will never make up for the wonders of excersise. He eats pizza every week-but only once and he's pretty controlled about everything else he eats. But, he works out almost everyday. He told me working out is the most important thing.

Hun.e.B- Good for you sweetie! A healthy dinner leaves no guilt when you are finished. Dr. Phil's book? What is it called? I might like to read it too! Anything helps.

Butterfly50- Yay! Water is the best! I'm glad your sweetie's fever is lowering.

Amany- Have fun skating!

Ladies I agree with Aqua that it is How Much you eat and not what you eat. Look at WW look at all the foods they have .But they all contain all the right portiones of food. I look at it this way 3 slices of pizza is better then eating the whole pizza. I know I ate a chicken sandwich and a few fries . But it was only one meal. I could burn that off doing and exercise. we dont need to beat our self up about it and jest move on if we did we would never be suscessful on loosing weight you would jest want to eat more. So I am sending all you ladies a big

Amany I want to say I still dont know how you can get up that early ?I guess when you are used to it you can do anything.I bought a Leslie DVD from Walmart I have a walk and Kick it has kick boxing moves in it. Then walk and jog. You can locate them in the area with all the exercise stuff. Other then that I located the good ones i have at target and Kmart. I would like to find the 5 mile one too. I also looked on the Leslie web site. they have tons of stuff.
Better be going it sat and it is house cleaning day.

Best wishes

Default The Fitness God Has Spoken.....Bob Harper from The Biggest Loser! LOL

Serioulsy, something really freaky happened! Last night, literally just as I was reaching to turn the tv off, a trailer for the fall season of The Biggest Loser came on. Of course I had to watch, I've been waiting for this to start for eons! Well this year they're doing 50 (!!) contestants. Don't even know how that is all gonna work out, BUT, then they flash to this very big, round man working out with Bob Harper (one of the trainers) and he's sweating and heaving himself....then Bob says something like, "I know you hate this right now (I can't remember the exact words but something to that effect), but I'm saving your life right now". I just remember getting chills when I heard that. It ends, and off to bed I go. Didnt think twice about what I'd just seen, crawled into bed and was out like a light.....This morning @ 7 I get woken up, not by the alarm, not by my dh nor my kids, but literally Bob whispering in my ear, I'M SAVING YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW. I shot out of bed and just sorta paced the floor for a minute because it was SO SO real. Girls, I can't even explain how freaked out I was. It's like he was standing right next to me and telling me to knock off the crap and get my @$$ going. When my husband got up he stops and looks at me and asks me what's wrong cause I was still freaking 30 min. later! I've literally had goose bumps for the last hour & a half! Even as I sit here I've got 'em. lol Gee, ya think good ole Bob is trying to tell me something????? What's even weirder is all that lethergy and tiredness I've had for days....is gone.............

On that note....I'm off to do the Biggest Loser Dvd!!!
I'll be back for personals when I'm done getting my butt kicked by Bob! ♥

Toodles...♥

Good Saturday morning lovelies!!

Amanda....I know what you mean I love having the mornings to myself. I'm lucky and my girls dont get up early, heck they'd sleep till 2pm if I let em! But its so nice to have the quiet I hate to wake em! Now mind you I dont get up at 5am!! LOL!! And way to go lady!!! You've got that free quiet time and you spent it working out!!! WOOHOOO! I'm so very proud of you!! You are turning a page in your new life and girl, it looks so great on you!!! I hope you get your tryke soon!!!! Have a blast skating today, cant wait to hear how it went!

Aqua....you sound better and better everyday you post! I'm so excited for you! this new lifestyle is agreeing with you!!!! The Dr. Phil book I'm reading is his Weight Loss Solution book, where he gives you the 7 keys to weightloss. I'm going through the "get-real weight" section now to help me figure out WHY I want to lose weight. Not as easy a question to answer as you might think.

Bonnie...you are absolutly right its not about what we eat so much as how much we eat. Calorie in vs. calorie out. The thing is that we can eat more of the good stuff than the bad for the same amount of calories. Portion control is the hard one to nail down. If you can do that you are golden, and then add on an exercise dedication like you have and ...... you'll be smokin in no time! LOL!! Good luck with the housework today, something I need to do too!

Danielle...your post gave me goosebumps. I honestly hope that Bob whispers in your ear everymorning!! I mean c'mon...what better way to wake up! LOL!! No seriously, doesnt it just feel like things are coming together? LIke this time its for life? No overnight, no rush to lose, just lifestyle commitments that are going to keep you around and enjoying that family for a long long LOOOOONG time! Tell Bob I said hi, and I miss him!! "I'm just up here stretchin on a rock!" LOL!

I was kinda thinking that maybe on Sunday we should start a new thread? Not that I dont love this group because I do! You ladies are so amazing, I'm so lucky to have you. But I think with the long thread that new people are too intimidated to join us. There is strength in numbers and my theory is the more people we can get to stand behind us in this journey the better. Plus sometimes having that "newbie" enthusiasm can sure boost your own dedication too. I dunno just a thought.

My plan was to go to the farmers market this morning and get some veggies to make homemade salsa. But my brats had friends stay the night last night and they are all sound asleep still. I'm also going to go to that bike shop today and ask him if he'll hold that bike for me till next saturday when I'll have the money to buy it!

I made my water goal yesterday...thats 4 days in a row...3 more days and that yoga mat is mine!!!! No exercise though darn it! But thats all about to turn around. My dh is getting on board with me. He says he's tired of feeling like he does, he's disgusted with himself. I said...welcome to my world!! Then he asked how I can stand it, to which I told him....I CANT! But I dont have a support system at home that keeps me on the straight and narrow, and he said...WELL NOW YOU DO!!

Alright ladies, I hope you have a fantastic day!! Be good to you!!

~melissa

Sugar-N-Spice- maybe your brain was remembering that moment, or perhaps your guardian angel was trying to give you a hint, and that is how they did it. cool though.

Hun.e.B- Yep, I am feeling better. I am so happy. Last week was nasty. You're right, this is not a super easy question because there is no one answer as far as I'm concerned. There are a lot of facets as to why I am plump and why I don't want to be plump.

Whoa Nelly!! I am so sore already from the BL workout, it's unreal! lol I was skeptical at the very beginning that I'd actually be able to finish the session but I picked up a second wind about mid-way thru and finished on top. Felt really good!!!

Amanda, good grief girl, waking up at 5 when you don't gotta! Then to go ahead and workout is amazing! I really hope you enjoyed your roller skating today. You are doing such amazing things for your body, keep it up chicklet!

Aqua, its great that you feel alittle stronger every day. Feels real good to be in total control huh? I would love Bob as my guardian angel, he's adorable! lol
Somebody, somewhere, was trying to send me a signal! Maybe it was just my subconscious finally waking up to what I already knew?! Who knows, but I'm runnin with it.

Melissa, ahhh wouldn't it be nice to get woken up by Bob every morning to workout and get on with the day. And I mean that in no offense to our dearest hubby's..there's just something about him that makes him so amazing. He really understands the struggle, I guess? I just know I feel very calm when I hear his voice. Oh and I will tell you, nobody looks better than him "stretching on a rock" either! LOL Have i told you I'm so proud of your water goal? You're doing great!! And having dh on board will be wonderful!

Yeah, I'm sorta in agreement that maybe we should do a weekly thread?? We definitely do enough posting to warrant it, and this one is ginormous. Would be nice to have newbies jump in now and then and really drive eachother!
I'm all for the more the merrier. Whatcha all think??

Anyways, so I got my workout in, eating fairly well today (missed brekky), and I will make my water goal. Pretty proud momma over here. I admit tho, I am feeling a little of that tiredness coming on, not too happy about that. I think perhaps it may be AF but for the life of me I cannot remember if its time or not! My cycle's get messed up every now and then and if I forget to keep track, well, then, it turns into a surprise! lol I've actually almost completed all of my laundry--this is a miracle. But wait, by the end of the weekend it will be overflowing again. *sigh* A mother's work is never done. All-in-all it's turned into a pretty great day....
