Val maybe u should talk with a few of the other ladies at curves (members) and explain to the owner that you ALL would like to have a few pieces of additional equipment.. and explain to her that all of u are considering going elsewhere..

I am very lucky in that the lady who owns my Ladies Workout express... had a lot of requests for additional machines... and she decided to rent out the office space next to her current spot... and she will offer ellipicals, exercise bikes, and other machines... she is also going to start having aerobics classes, dance classes, an area for massage, and health & nutrition classes...
beatles fan.....take a look around cuz i see the gazelles at the thrift stores all the time! maybe u could pick one up cheap.. that way if u dont like it.. u havent put a big amount $ out for it...

Zoey, I've read the same ones for the Mediterranean diet and I like them all. I agree they are all different. The one by Cloutier is like a nutrition textbook which I think would be a bit overwhelming for most people. I absolutely love the Thin Commandments. I only have one small quarrel with him. I haven't read the Jenny Craig book or the other one you mentioned.
OK heres what i came up with for the Easter eggstravaganza...
feel free to suggest anthing i may have left out:
Post daily egg total in forum= 1 egg
meeting water goal= 10 eggs
Each 30 minutes of exercise= 5 eggs
meeting carb limit=5 eggs
Track calories/ WW points for the day(stay within your limits +25 calories) = 10 eggs
1 pound lost=100 eggs
March 16th- halfway mark= 25 egg bonus
this will start on Feb 15th and run thru April 15th .... u can keep track of your eggs anyway u like...
i tried to come up with goals that would apply to all of us...

When you say points are you referring to WW points? Does that just apply to the WW folks? If so, why do we get more credit for tracking carbs than they do for tracking points? I'm confused!

I'm thinking about trying for the Purist approach to Protien Power starting in March. I'm not sure I can do it 100% but I'm going to try for as close as possible (can't give up my morning coffee). That should shake things up a bit for me.
I'm back in the doldrums......again, but I'm gonna fight my way out.
I love reading alla your posts. I really do get somethin good from everyone here. I'm still working out, mostly doing elliptical for minimum 30-40 min. Although I've been sick the last couple days and I didn't go yesterday. I've also been wayyyy off my program. I caved into the craving for good ol' comfort foods. Ya know, I realized since I've joined WW, I have lost and gained the same 4 lbs several time over so I'm kinda thinkin a complete changeup is due. I was actually doing better just watching my meals individually, and no snacking than I did counting points so.... i'm on my way there again I think. (I'm going to gear up to 4 Corners).. But I'm going to keep going to meetings because I really do feel like I want the face to face support too. (I won't tell if you don't )
BTW, Lee's gym support has taken a complete turnaround! Yesterday, I forgot to take my workout clothes to work, he called and even offered to bring them to me! Next months dues are already figured into the budget

hey how is everyone? i am trying to get back on track. i am soo tired.we was soo busy at work today,we made tons of pizzas for all the schools.i am beat!
I finally made it back to the fitness center today. I am totally amazed at myself because I managed 20 minutes on the elliptical. I normally have to get off of it after a few minutes because I feel so awkward. The stinking lights went out on me again as I was showering today. I did find out that they are working on straightening that out.
Well I need to wake up my husband or just eat supper without him. I HATE having him work 3rd shift.
Well I bit the bullet and took a dentist cancellation and completed my crown extravaganza!!! ouch...but hopefully this will finally put an end to all my dental woes. Needless to say, food wise the day so far has been a wash out nutritionally speaking.....going for those comfort (soft) foods. But good news....is that I'm still within my caloric total. hehe...not all a bad day then.
I'm in for the EGGxellent EGGstra challenge!!! Curly, good idea with the challenge!! Going to drive me batty keeping up the daily tally though...

45 min on the elliptical. You guys, I RAN! LOL I didn't even realize it til the lady working there (who has been helping me whenever our paths cross), said she couldn't believe it. LOL She laughed talking about the 10 min that nearly killed me on my first day hehehehe... I RAN!!! for the first time I can actually remember in like 25 years... WooooHOOOOOO. I'm gonna call that a major NSV!
anyways I did 45 cardio, then the entire body circuit, then another 10 min cardio to cool down. I feel gooooood (NaNaNaNaNaNaNa) !! wOOOOOO! lol. (DId you vision a James brown spin?? hehheheh)
