Good Morning!

So I got the Christmas cards done the other night. One more thing done! We were going to put up our lights yesterday, but it's only getting up to 24 degrees as the high. I may wait a few days. I'm still running and loving it (but still not losing and hating it)!

So sorry about your Uncle Star
Little Turds... I have one in 6th grade and he's an ANGEL...I swear!
HarleyMom, you're doing so good! Keep it up!
Hi Chick and 2Frustrated!

I hope everyone has a great day!
Kathy
ooooo they have Christmas smilies! Yeah!

Good Morning Chicks! I am having my first Christmas party celebration today. Because we all have off after next week we are doing it this week as my boss is traveling and will be out of the office. I will not see her until the Jan. 4th after Friday. It seems like it is all happening so fast. We are going to some upscale rest. to eat this evening should be fun.

Star I am sorry to here about your uncle. It doesn't surprise me he passed so soon after his wife. That is very common in older people they seem to not be able to live without the other person.

Congrats on completing your cards Kathy!

Another frozen day in the rockies. My outside mirror cracked this morning from the cold. The sun is out hoping it will get into the teens today. My DH has been in Las Vegas for a company thing all week and has missed all the cold weather poor him.

Well Chicks have a good one.

Good morning ladies!

Star- How are you doing today, chicky?

Kathy- You are really doing great getting your holiday things done. Are you doing lots of baking this year? I really wanted to try some new recipes, but I haven't. Plus, I know that Dh and I don't need all the extra goodies here. I'll probably make some peanut brittle with my dad (my teacher...lol) this weekend or next.

Gina-Ok, I have to torture myself and ask...what is the temp out in gorgeous California now and what are your ranges...hottest and coldest? Did you have fun dancing last night?

Harley- Your husband's lucky getting to take a business trip to Vegas! How was your Christmas party?

I hear that we're supposed to get to freezing temp today...yeah...its warming up! LOL. Not much going on here. I woke up a little earlier today. Tonight is the Mudvayne concert, but like an idiot I waited and waited to buy a ticket and now they're sold out!! Dh wouldn't have gone anyhow, so I would have went with my brother and some of our friends. Speaking of dh, he has to work tomorrow, so I'm sure our plans for tonight will be pretty mellow.

What's everyone doing this weekend?!?!

Hi to everyone!!

Rebel - yes mrsclaus is HOT.....lol

We got about 4 inches of snow. The roads were better than I thougt they would be and coming in wasn't a big deal. I have a Ford Focus and worry about snow and ice sometimes. (that was one of those cosigner deals gone bad and we ended up having to take it back - I liked my leased SUV much better )

I will be here today until about 2:30 and then I'm leaving for the funeral home. The funeral is tomorrow. I'm thinking about saying afew words at the funeral, my uncle was the sweetest man and I use to go over there for lunch. He always talked about his (grown) grandkids, how successful they were, how wonderful their wives were (all grandsons 6). He was astranged from his only son, and he always ask me "What did I do wrong to him?" When in fact, Uncle Curley never did anything wrong. His son was married to a witch from the planet with no feelings.......his son is very sad now. Matter of fact, uncle curley wanted me to tell his DIL, if she came to his funeral, that he didn't want her there. Well that day is here and I don't think I can do it.
On a brighter note, he always thought I never needed to lose weight, but til the day he died he could tell if I lost weight and I'm talking as little as 5 pounds. He didn't just say it to be nice, becuz when I wasn't losing he'd never say anything. (mind you he was 84)....

Well, I check you girls on Monday.......Have a great weekend...workout for me some.......and enjoy the holiday season......

Hugs,

It's Friday...woohoo!

I finally got done holidayizing (pretty sure that's not a word! ) my house last night. The tree is decorated and my son stole some lights to hang in his room, all is good

HarleyMom, I can sympathise with the cold weather crap! It was so cold at our house the other night that the metal plate on the bottom of our front door frosted... on the inside! BRRRRRRR..... We had a watermain pipe break just up from our house last night and at the intersection it's like a HUGE ice rink now. Hubby called the street department twice to get them to come and sand the roads. I'll be going a different way home today.
Rebel, I would love to bake, but my mom is on WW, and I really don't need the sweets in the house because I have NO will power when it comes to deserts. This year I'm not even buying an chocolate until the 23rd so DH and I won't eat it all before the family comes.
Star, I'm sorry today is going to be so bad. Keep that smile in your heart when you think of your uncle.
Hey chick, have fun at the concert tonight! Did you get your decorations up?

Weekend plans for me are: Gym tonight, tomorrow work, gym and shop a little then paint - I have my kids this weekend so I'll probably get them some kind of Christmas craft for them to paint while I'm painting too, Sunday Gym - shop and lounge... Sunday's are good

Everyone have a fantastic day and weekend and try to stay warm!

Kathy

Hey Chicks! Busy weekend coming up. It is the big cookie baking day saturday. Maybe 30 dozen cookies will be baked at my place. They go to neighbors and co workers and of course my DH and kids love them. I love using the cookies press and making the little christmas trees. They are my fav christmas cookies. They never last long enough for me to over indugle in them.

Star good luck at your Uncles funneral. Boy do I understand all that crazy bitter crap that goes on with people. If I've learned one thing is life is way to short. You may never get the chance to may things right so just don't get things wrong with people!

We are having a heat wave today. I think it is 30's today. The sun is out. Yippee!

Had fun at my Christmas Party last night. Tryed to stay away from the bread and other high fat stuff. I think I did OK.

If was really that sexy would never get his toys delivered.

Well chicks have a great weekend. I am going in for the kill with flour and sugar and butter up to my waist.

Hi, 40 years old this month two kids DS is 20 and DD is 18. When I first starting going out with my husband almost 20 years ago my Mom about had a heart attack--long hair, tattoos and a harley ...oh my! And then I moved myself and my DS in with him...oh my again! Fortunately she fell in love with him too.
My son was a little rebellious in middle school, all the teachers wanted him on Ritalin, the principal said the Ritalin would make him more compliant at home too since I was a single mom--I told him I was married and we did in fact live in the same house. The next meeting with the principal I took DH with me. At 6'2" and broad shouldered he can be a little intimidating. He told principal and vice principal the same thing that I had been saying, we were not putting DS on Ritalin and told him to stop harrassing me about it. Slamming his fist on the desk might have done the trick since my DS got in no more trouble the rest of the year.
DH bought a V-8 bike almost two years ago. Had a small accident after the throttle got stuck. Messed up my knee but nothing huge--contributed to some of my weight gain. DH did some minor adjusting and have had no problems since. Been thinking about going solo. He modified his Harley with a suicide shift among other things, says if I am really serious he will put it back so that I could drive it. We'll see if he means it come spring.

Jules!!!!

I'll be 40 in March - so we are about even... I don't have kids but it does seem like schools want to put an awful lot of kids on Ritalin...I don't really get it...nothing like a big ol biker dude to get the point across

Harleymom - have you gotten the frosting out of your hair yet?

I was sick on Friday - a wierd dizzy and nausea thing that I woke up with and stayed horizontal with the whole day.... Luckily I felt better at night and yesterday I was fine! But Xmas hasn't been dragged out of the closet yet...maybe today after gym time. And backyard raking....

Andrea - don't kill the messenger - but it was about 65 yesterday with a low of 40 or so. The concert was fun - but I think the band had smoked a few too many before the show - they kept going into jam sessions - my assumption was that they forgot some of the songs...who knows?

Hope eveyone is having a great weekend!

Jules!

Harley-Are you really Martha Stewart in hiding?! LOL, just kidding. Sounds like a fun weekend! Yum!

Star- I hope that your weekend went as well as can be expected.

Gina- I knew I shouldn't have asked...wow...65 . Yesterday was 55 here, so that was a huge improvement.

Kathy- You're another crafty little chick! You are so good to plan your weekend workouts. Oh, and I didn't do 3 workouts last week. Ughhh... I did NONE.

This weekend was pretty relaxing. I went to Applebees with a friend Saturday and naturally did not eat anything on the Weight Watchers menu. Plus I had a blue margarita the size of my head...'tis the season, I guess. It was fun though and something we havent done since I was married...over a year ago.

I am doing a juice fast today and tomorrow. Wish me luck! Then on Tuesday and I going to do some calorie cycling. Going from low to high over a course of several days. I really need to kick up my metabolism again. I had planned after work I would workout but then got asked to tutor, so that keeps me at work about an hour and half longer, so I will really have to force myself to do some workout. After dealing with kids all day, I'm totally exhausted.

Well, I hope that everyone is doing well and your Mondays are going great!

As long as the juice fast isn't margarita juice? But seriously -
You can do it, girl...

Well - the leaves still aren't raked...and Xmas is still in the closet....friends arrived unannounced...but it was fun. I ate way too much....but I got my gym time in...hmmm could this be the reason for my lovely plateaus?

Happy Monday everyone!!!

Hey Chicks! Well got the cookies baked. 10 lbs of flour, 3 lbs sugar, 2 lbs powdered sugar, 5 lbs of butter, one can of shortening, 7 cups of nuts, a half jar peanut butter, 1 lbs brown sugar, 2 dozen eggs, and who knows what else. Do you feel your waist growing just talking about it? What a lot of fun at first turning into work about 10 hrs into it. I ate one or two cookies is all. I can not believe it!

Welcome to our group Jules. Sounds like you fit right in. My husband is 5’5” and can scare the stuff out of people by just his presence so I can't imagine having him be over 6’ tall. I think God made him small on purpose. He intimidates people without the height card. You don’t say anything about a weight loss program. Are you currently doing any?

Warming up here it is going to be 50 something the next two days, but talking snow on Wednesday. Darn it!

Well all you chicks have a marvelous day!

HEHE!!! If that were the case I'd be thrilled and in a much better mood than I am now. LOL.

A juice fast...me and my stupid ideas...grrr...

Harley-All I can say is WOW! Wow on the 10 hours of cookie making, wow on that many pounds of ingredients, and WOW on eating only eating a cookie or 2!!

Gina-Sounds like you had a great weekend with friends, who cares about the leaves when you're having a good time?!?!

Later, girls!

Harleymom--depressed about the age thing--age has never bothered me (DH had a moment when he turned 29 and wasn't going to 20 anything every again..), both kids out of the house isn't helping. Decided I needed a kick in the butt and losing weight is the first step. I started slim-n-tone which is like curves. Have to watch the knee since my knee cap still is sitting a little too high. Have tried SB, WW, the grapefruit diet, cabbage soup diet among others in the past. Trying to give up my coca-cola and potato chip breakfasts and drink more water. If I can just make it to January while maintaining my current weight, I'll be happy. Winter sucks since in the summer me and DH are out riding and I am not sitting at home grazing. Been thinking about doing Nutrisystem for a month or two to get portion control in my mind. I hear both good and bad with the food options. We have cut back the amount of sweets that are brought in the house with the kids gone it's easier. DH gets the gout and sugar doesn't help...neither does the beer but I don't see it going and it keeps him happy... Anything that works for anyone here??

Star, sorry about your uncle, he sounds like he was the kind of person everyone should have in their life..

Andrea--my dd wants to take me to Applebees for my birthday lunch on Friday---might have to try one (or a few) of those blue margaritas!!

Gina-we were going to go see a band last Friday with friends and then the six inches of snow came....unfortunately they only plow backroads in WV if there will be school..the good old boys on the road I live started it and then the state finally came Sunday afternoon....

Kathy--got some holidayizing (I like it) done myself, snowmen are out and some other little touches--still trying to decide if we are putting up an actual tree or if the ceramic one with lights will do...

Off to do a pm yoga tape...
