Thanx guys for the compliments on the girls. You guys are so sweet! We just got their ears pierced today and they look so cute. They did really well considering. They will be 9 months tomorrow. I just can't believe how fast they are growing up. They are crawling so well and Mya is really wanting to walk.
Laramie, can't wait to hear how your date went. Please let us know. Does match.com do compatability checks and everything? Was he good looking? Do tell. Also, congrats on the weight loss!!! Woohoo, you are definitely going in the right direction.
Amanda, now hmmm... I didn't think that Mya and Mia were that common. What are the odds of you knowing another set of twins with the same name.? Hunh! Well, I think they have great names, so I guess they would be. I'm in for the PHYSICAL CHALLENGE. If you guys are around my age, 30, do you remember a show called Double Dare on Nickelodeon? I always remember the physical challenge level. Girls, you know I am tired, I am going all off of topic. Ha Ha Ha It has been a long day. Anyways, yes, I would be interested in working out 4-6 days per week. I have been doing Leslie's everyday for the past week or so, but it will be nice to be part of a group challenge.
Melissa, you are so sweet. Thanx! Good job on the water. For some reason, I am still struggling with the water. It's funny. It use to be the only thing that I drank. When I went to restaurants, I would always order water, not to be cheap, but that was all I wanted. My husband really introduced me to drinking pop all of the time when we were dating and it has been a problem ever since. Well, I am working on it. Oh yeah, another tip I read with regards to getting water in. In Leslie's book, she recommends filling a water bottle half way and putting it in the freezer overnight. Then in the morning, fill it up and then as the ice melts, you have cold water all day. I thought that was a good idea and it works to because I have tried it.
In regards to the Physical Challenge. I just want to remind everyone to be careful. I don't know about the temps in your areas, but I know here it is very hot and humid. There has been heat advisories here almost daily. I workout indoors all of the time, so I am fine, but I know alot of people love the outdoors. So please be careful everyone.
Hi Mia. Good to see ya. I hadn't heard about tracking from dinner to dinner. Typically, I start over at the beginning of each day. I'm with you on breakfast. I am not a big breakfast eater either. However, I want to change that. Another part of my goal is to eat less as the day goes on. Make breakfast the largest meal of the day. It is hard though, because I am conditioned to eat the largest meal at dinner, not the other way around. It will take some time. Anyways, I'd like to hear how the dinner to dinner thing goes for you.
Aqua, thanx for the kind words. So I assume that you are feeling pretty good. Taking the family out for fun. Good! Good! Good! Did you guys have fun? Also, what WW meals did you end up picking up? Tell us what you think of them. When I worked full time, I always got Lean Cuisines. They were always so good to me. They also have point values on the outside which make it real easy to count. My favorite one was a chicken and broccoli bowl. Wow, it was so good.
Butterfly, boy did you get the day off to a great start. That is what I found to be the most effective for me....Workout first thing in the morning. If I wait until the end of the day, either I am tired or things get in the way and I never get it in. I hear ya on Sunday's off. Sunday was always my day off as well. Tomorrow I am taking a bath, doing my nails and giving myself a pedicure. Pamper Elycia day. In terms of sugar, isn't it crazy that something that can be debilitating to you can be so addictive? Crazy stuff. Glad that you found a plan that works for YOU! Keep us posted on how you are feeling and liking the plan.
Anna, good job on the water! 126 oz! Allright!! Glad that you don't have to go through a fiasco with the car dealer. You really have to watch those guys and every single line on that paperwork. I am right there with you needing to go grocery shopping. I was hoping that the reimbursement check for the food spoilage would have arrived by now. I really didn't want to buy a bunch of groceries that were on my food spoilage list and then have double of everything, so I was trying to hold out. It is getting hard. Hopefully, I will get it on Monday. Thanx for the kind words about the girls.
Danielle, what is up with your neighbors? They seem to cut you a break a night or two and then they are back at it! I tell ya, I see why you want to rip their lips off. Geez! I know I had a really lousy neighbor several years ago. They had this raggedy truck that when it started up it would rattle the windows of my house. Then I guess to keep it from cutting off she would push on the gas and it would really be loud. It wouldn't bother me if she didn't decide to leave 4:00 in the morning everyday or 6:00 a.m. on a Sunday. I started calling the police on her. Only thing was most of the time, by the time the police got there, she had pulled off. They eventually caught her though and it was a good thing they did. I was getting so mad, I was about to go over there and finish off that hunk of junk with some sugar in the tank. Does that really work or is that a myth? Anyways, best wishes on that situation and thanx for the compliment of my little ones.
Well, I gotta run. I will try to play catch up with personals later. I think I got everyone though. If not, I promise to getcha next time.
Butterfly50- I'm getting excited about WW. I think it will be a healthier alternative. I am proud that I kept up liquid as long as I did, and it gave me a jump start in weight loss. I think I will be a happier woman too. If I could do liquid for that long, then I know I can make WW a long tem commitment.
Amany- Wow! I like the habit challenge, I'm in. I can do brisk walking on the treadmill. That idea behind a habit is fascinating.
Woodspritechick- Hi honey! I've missed ya! I was sorta MIA for a while so I only catch blips of people.
flawlesscube- Hi!
Sugar-N-Spice- Aw. I understand about the feet. Do you have a water foot massager? sometimes that helps.
u2girl- My heart is still thudding, but I needed to get away from the house so me and hubby took the kids to a carnival. It was nice to walk around and see the kids have fun, but I was wiped out when we got home. I think walking helps though.
Popping in real quick to ask a question. What does your husband/so eat for lunch? I am trying to find alternatives for my husband, but he doesn't like most of the WW/Lean Cuisine meals and doesn't always want sandwiches. I was wondering what you do. Please let me know.
I wish I could convince my husband to carry his lunch. He doesn't like to.
If he comes home for lunch, he likes salads. I have to have it already prepared in the fridge though and some type of meat for it. Either grilled chicken or deli meat.
If your husband will take a salad, you can buy those small 2 oz containers for salad dressing at Gordan's Food Service (do you have those where you live?), Sam's Club or Costco. Or maybe, for something different, a sandwich made with pita bread. I'm with AquaGirl on the sandwiches made with bagels. They're really good. If your husband is trying to watch his carbs, maybe he could have one just every now and then.
Here's a good one, those tortillas that are tomato, or herb flavored. You could put tuna, chicken, tomatoes, lettuce, etc on them. I think they do have low carb versions of those tortillas. It takes some of the "ho-hu " out of lunch.
I hate to say this But my Hubby is Skinny as a rail he goes out for Lunch every day. His Boss treats. Must be nice.
I jest got back from Sams and Boy were they crowed. I jest went in to pick up water I had to stand in line for 30 min to get out. I can tell you the price of food now days I wish that it would be cheap to eat good and expensive to eat Junk. May Be in Dream Land Uh. Any way I Love the Water Idea I used to do that But I had forgot about it I hate Warm Water. Plus I was told that your body has to work harder to cool the water when it digests. I dont know how true that it .
I am going to on full plan in the Am I have taken the past few days to watch what I eat and get back in to exercise and Now I want to go on full plan. I was also told by my doc it only takes two weeks to form a new habbit so Iam going to take the exercise challenge and use that to get on full plan too.
I hope that sounds right Well I better go check in later.
I'm sorry AquaChick. I have a bad habit (speaking of habits) of referring to you as AquaGirl. Just like I used to refer to ThisToo as ThirstToo. I'm bad with names in person. It's amazing that I manage to be bad with them online too.
Butterfly, I wish the healthier stuff was cheaper too. I've also read about the body using more energy (calories) on cold water. Your doc says 2 weeks to form a habit? That's even better! We're going to be really fit.
Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well and are having a wonderful Sunday. I just got done mopping my floor, so I am taking a break before venturing off to Walmart.
As for my date last night , I had a really good time, and I thought that Jeff was having a good time too but I think Jeff must have seen something that he did not like. I am really bumming, because I thought that he was a really nice guy and I was attracted to him as well. He is the one who initiated things on match.com so I don't understand what went wrong. I am really trying to keep my mind off of it, but it is hard. For the first time in almost 6 years, I am asked out on a date and then I get rejected. I am really trying not to let this affect my depression and it is really hard not to go to the kichen and grab a knife and start cutting again.
The thing is that he was the one who would im me when he saw that I was online and today when I saw that he was online and I imed him, he ignored me. So I wrote him an email saying that I was sorry that I was bothering him and that I really wanted to see him again and that I could take a hint, and I wished him good luck on his search for that special girl. I am wondering if that was premature of me. Maybe I am just being paranoid, maybe not. I start to wonder if there is something wrong with me, I am so unlikable to men? I am just not feeling good today. The only smile that came to my face today is when I stepped on the scale and saw that I lost another pound.
Hello girls! Phew, back-to-school stuff is DONE! Cannot believe the crowds this weekend, it's been unbearable. Even the grocery store was ultra crowded today. I am relieved it's all done even if my feet hurt like a you know what, and my pocket book is alot lighter. The older they get the longer it takes. Gone are the days of me just going out and buying their stuff and bringing it home and saying here's your clothes for school! LOL
Elycia, if I read correctly your girls will turn a year on 11/13? My sons is 11/14. They grow so fast!!! My neighbors were semi-quiet last night. I am praying that tonight they stay very quiet as we've got the first day back to school in the morning. :crossfingers:
Amanda, WTG on the workout today!! I had no idea Billy Blanks was that old! He looks alot younger, just goes to show what good health and exercise can do for ya, huh? I saw before/afters of a woman who lc's the other night, she started at about 230 and is now 155 and is 46 years old. Darnit if that woman did not look a day past 30! She looked marvelous, got me excited to really start buckling down and get this done!
Aqua, how you feeling today chicky? I hope each day finds you getting stronger and stronger. Ugh, boy do I wish I had a foot massager!! About the best thing I got going is dh's too little hands, and that's if I can talk him into rubbing my feet! LOL
Butterfly, I'm glad to see you so excited about our new little challenge we've got going! I know you can do it and do it well!!! I'm in agreement, why can't all the junk food be expensive!!! Wishful thinking I'm afraid.
Laramie, . I'm sorry you're having a rough time right now. Seriously though, maybe he was busy when you IM'd?? I know when I leave mine on I get sidetracked sometimes and forget I've got it on! Hopefully he will get your email and set the record straight. Either way just know that there is NOTHING wrong with you lady! If it turns out there is no 2nd date then it's his loss, you will find the person that is right for you I just know it!! And seriously, why would you want to be with anybody so dumb that he doesnt know what he's got right in front of him? What a knucklehead! I know you're feeling sorta raw right now, but chin up girly, you are going to find Mr. Right someday! Please please please seek help if you feel yourself slipping again into depression. If you ever want to talk PM anytime ok, I have my own issues with this so I understand completely! You are not alone sweetie!!
Alright, time to get the dinner going and get these kids settled for the night. Ladies, have a great night and I will see you all in the A.M.!
Laramie, I am sorry that you feel your date didn't go well. I don't know for sure obviously, but your response to him may have been a little premature. I really hope so. In any event, please don't allow yourself to spiral into depression and cutting. In the short time that I've known you, you seem to be a spectacular lady and care alot for others. Give it a little time to see what happens. Like someone mentioned, maybe he was busy or preoccupied with something. I can't tell you how many times I have left my im box up and left the house! I come back and I have like 20 people im'g me.
Oh I wish the weekend was four days long... I hope you all had a great one.
Laramie Sweetie don't let this get you down. Just think of all the wonderful things that you're doing for yourself now. You're taking care of yourself physically and working on your emotional health. Please, as hard as it is right now, try to see the big picture. You will find find someone, but I promise you that you will enjoy your life a lot more as you learn to be kinder to yourself. Find more ways to enjoy yourself even if you must do it alone. Of course it's nicer when you're with someone. We all want that right?
I spent about six years alone too. I hated it at the time. In, hindsight though, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I learned to love my life with or without someone. Don't get me wrong, I would hate to not be with my husband, but I know that I can go on without him. And I value myself enough to leave him if he ever turned into some crazed maniac. God forbid. Had I not gone through those years of just learning about ME doing things to for myself, I would not feel this way. In fact I think it's probable that I would not even have attracted a person of his caliber.
There was a man I dated briefly before meeting him that turned out to be an immoral liar. I immediately stopped seeing him. I was really proud of myself too. I know there was a time that I would have stayed with him. But I had learned to value myself. Since I valued myself so much, there was no way in h*ll I was going to allow some clown come along and bring a bunch of drama to my life.
So my advice is to enjoy your life in the meantime. When you can experience happiness on your own, you will not be willing to sacrifice it just to be with someone. Trust me on that.
Danielle you're a busy woman! Whenever 20 - 30ish people talk about their children I am reminded that I probably won't have my first until I'm 34 or 35. When they graduate from college I'll be on my way to a retirement community! I had to find the right man to have children with first though, right?
I love the low carb success stories. I guess because it's all so uncomplicated. Who can't live a low carb lifestyle? Plenty of veggies, plenty of protein, and you're never hungry. On top of that you look better, feel better and get results quickly.
I found out today that I've been having several dingbat moments though. About once or twice a week I've been getting beanless chili from the restaurant near my job. It's nothing more than the Hormel chili that's sold in the stores. Don't ask me why, but I love that stuff. I decided tonight to just buy some and keep it around. 18 carbs per serving!!! Yikes! But you know what? I still managed to lose 12 pounds. I'll just be even more successful this month, right?
Well, I guess it's time for me to get ready for bed. I'm looking forward to the exercise challenge. I know I've said this a billion times, but I just know we'll all reach our goals. I keep saying because I'm just so excited about it!
Wow Ladies, where did the weekend go?
Have been busy here moving SO 's stuff this weekend. got alot of walking in that way and yeah lawn mower is fixed so he did that while I was sleeping today. I think my neighbors were starting to think the manson family lived here with the very long lawn. JK
Hope all are well. will be on more tomorrow but need to get to work.
Anna
Laramie, Amanda is so right! You are doing wonderful things for yourself right now by getting healthy. I truly believe you will grow so much on this journey we're on and come to love yourself so much more. We have to in order to achieve the things we are striving for here. I think a lot of great things are in store for you, even I'm excited for you! Just remember to be kind to yourself sweets and remember we're all here for you!
Amanda, the exercise challenge is a must for me. I eed something to hold me accountable as I'm obviously not able to get going alone. I just really wish I was one of those people who loved to workout. Have you seen that show on Bravo called "Work Out"? Its about a gym in Los Angeles anf the trainers there. I wish I had one of those trainers to keep me motivated! LOL
Hi Anna hope work goes well tonight! Glad SO is moved and he even mowed the lawn! You've got him trained well!
Girls, I hope you're all ready for a great week ahead! I know I am!
