Default Good Morning All!

Corrina....dang...sorry to hear you will not have a puter for a bit.....will look forward to your posting....and hearing that the ankle is all better!
Renee....I'm with you....can't wait to get outside and dig in the dirt! I too was raised on a farm......Don't live on one now.....my gardens are the "plot and pot" kind.....lol....."plot and ccontainer" .....(that left too much to the imagination}
My grandkids are coming for the weekend so that is a challenge for me to eat good and get enough exercise as I can't walk my mileage with either of them.....too cold. Been thinking of what I could do. My brother has a bowling alley. I could take them there and bowl with them....I really don't like to bowl but exercise is exercise!
I'll have to figure out something....Goal today:Water Water Water....I need to wean myself for Diet Mt Dew!
Emjoy your weekend!
Shar

Rene that sounds like fun...tell me more about the horse...I ride a horse too....the steel kind...lol! I don't drive.....I do love it though....I could ride all day...everyday!!!

Grandkids have gone home....so quiet!

PHEW!!! Though they wore me out...lol....well the little boy wore me out...but I love them to the moon and back and they can wear me out any day! From the moment their mother dropped them off yesterday I never stopped playing with him. We played loads of board games and put floor puzzles together....took them for ice cream....yes I folded....I had mint oreo blizzard.....wasn't anything to write home about. Our dairy queen closes in this town and the owners go to FL for the winter...it is tradition here....like Spring has arrived in this frozen tundra to go get an ice cream when they open. Then they are so expensive it becomes a rare treat the remainder of the summer...lol! Right before they close for the winter they have a big blizzard sale.
I have my new snack....Garbanzo beans....right out of the can...lol.
This am I had an egg white omelet with red/yellow/green peppers and a little shredded cheese melted into it.....went for a 3 mile power walk and now I am having 2 glasses of water and a half cup of garbanzo beans...then I am going to work to do some paperwork in my office....then I'll go to the gym for stgrength training and another 3 miles on the treadmill.
Should be a good day!
Will check back with everyone later.
Enjoy your day!
Shar

Shar, I raise miniature horses. I had big horses for 40 years until back surgery forced me to give them up. I downsized to minis and they are wonderful. Just like a big horse in every way except size. I show them at miniature horse shows and drive them around the farm. You would be surprised at the number of us "older" folks that have them. Sounds like your grand kids keep you busy! Going to the movies today to see "OZ" and I will not have any popcorn......

Hello Ladies. It seems like we all are working toward the same goal. I'm new to 3FC and looking for motivation and support. I'm 53, and need to lose 25 or 30 lbs. I generally eat healthy and watch my portion sizes but this weight doesn't seem to want to leave. I do exercise, but probably not enough. I'm looking forward to talking with you all and supporting each other.

So Corinna - Is it starting to get cool there now? What is the coldest it will get and is that in July, August?

Spring is just around the corner here. I have not been on program at all but have been maintaining. The heat will be here soon and I would love the feeling of putting on a t-shirt that is not oversized. I cannot stand to feel my fat stomach against the shirt so I'd rather wear a giant shirt. But then I look bigger than I really am. I'd love throw on a medium t-shirt that is comfortable through my middle and actually fits. For work I usually put a spanxy thing underneath to hold it all together. Would love for that to be gone forever too!

Does anyone else have the extra weight mostly around the middle?

We probably need to lose more than 5-10 pounds to see results around the middle! But isn't a big middle just the pits!

Default Hello Ladies!!! I am STARVING!!!!

LOL! I am trying to do this and so motivated but......I could eat the back side....okay....little venting....I'll be good!
Right now I have a very pretty salad in front of me with different red and green lettuces...red/orange/green and yellow peppers and walnuts with a Raspberry Vinegrette sauce.....I had 3 pieces of celery before that and an apple before that....lol.....I think I may have finally arrested that hunger.....really it is supper time but my man doesnt get home until 7-8pm and sometimes later....he owns a business...so that means long hours though we love what he does! I reap the benefits in fun and excitement....he restores/rebuilds muscle cars of the 70's and restores classics.....he has had many in magazines and in museums.....so along wtih the work comes the fun. Car shows/travel etc.
Rene~ Mini Horses!!! Soo mcuh fun!!! I had horses when I was younger....I had a friend (co worker) who raised minis and drove and showed...she also put them in costume and parades....Im a Nurse and one day my patient's son called me to demand to know what the mental change in his father was. I said your father is fine. I just came out of his room not too long ago. He said I beg to differ with you!!....but I just called him and he told me he saw a tiny horse with a rabbit riding on its back come up to his window. I said He did!! That's right...It was Heather and she has mini horses and brings them occasionally to see patients! LOL!!!!
Hello to Kris and Susan!!
Kentucky....and I think of Moonshine....hmmmmm....is that on our diet? HeHe! Ilived in FL for 6 yrs and worked with a girl from Kentucky.....what a great girl she was!
New Orleans!! I have friends there too!!! But I have never been there......I would love to have a crawfish boil just once though!!!
Well let me tell you all I am a pear shape and I dont know which is worse .....a fat a$$ or middle.....but....I did it last year and I will do it again ....only this time I want to get to goal. I got to 145 last year and I was happy though I want to do better this year.
Its raining and cold out...so must skip the walk today......that is hard to do once I get started....I get so driven! I think exercise makes such a big difference!

Kris, I think losing weight around the middle is the hardest to lose, but I am determined to do it!

Shar, that was too funny about the patient seeing a dressed up mini. There are quite a few minis that do nursing home visits, etc. Keep walking...It's great exercise!

Thanks for the welcome! This hasn't been a good day as far as food goes.. I blew it, but that's ok.. I'll get back on track tomorrow..
Sounds like everyone has an interesting life, muscle cars and mini horses.. Mine is boring in comparison. I am a wife, mom, and grandmother. I don't work outside the home either. I do have a home based business tho. I love what I do and that it allows me to stay home and gives me the free time I love to spend with my family. My hubby goes to the gym daily, but he is a hardcore workout buff so I don't go with him. I love walking and don't mind the weight machines, but hate working out by myself. All of my friends work, or live too far away to go to the gym with me. I can't seem to motivate myself enough to get on the treadmill at home. It's in the garage. Can't wait til it warms up so I can get outside and walk my dog. That will help lots.
Thanks for the motivation and support. I hope I can give back positively!!
