  • Good week for me....down another pound Been outside working in the garden everyday. Starting to freeze broccoli...sure will taste good when the snow flies. How was your week Corinna? I still need to make better food choices, I have such a sweet tooth!
  • Hi Renee, Your doing great! Keep it up. I weighed in at the same, which is good, because I thought it would be more. Still need to work on the portion sizes and I think I will cut down on some of the starchy/carb foods too. I didn't realize how often I eat them, but now I do and it is almost every day.
  • hard weekend...I had a party and faultered but I also went out to diner twice and stayed on program.
  • Hi Gargano. Do you weigh in weekly? Let us know how you do......you can do this....stay focused! Have a great week
  • Well. had an ok week. Stayed the same. Too many 4th of July parties. I will do better this week!
  • Hi! Been busy this week too with several independence day holidays and the the local fair. However, that is not a good excuse. I don't dare step on the scale this week. I am pushing forward to next week for weigh-in and I am planning on going strong this week with eating and exercise. No more holidays for a while so I should be able to lose some weight.

Welcome to the group Gargano! Keeping to your diet goal 2 out of 3 times is a good start. Sounds like you have some will power in you too to do better.
  • Hi everyone ,
I am so ready to join with you all . My husband pass in May and I was his caretaker for 2 1/2 years packed on the pounds now I want to get them off .
  • Hi Baileyboo! Welcome to our group. So sorry to hear about your husband. What kind of diet are you on? I mostly try to eat healthy and watch my portion size. I find it's really harder as you get older and I have a wicked sweet tooth!
  • I seem to be stuck I really have to try harder. I start out good in the morning, but then things go downhill....I have to watch my snacking....it's not so much the snacking as it is what I eat for snacks. I must make healthier choices. My willpower sucks.
  • Oh Renee! You were doing so good there for a few weeks too at losing. I am sorry to hear that you are not losing any more right now. Are you feeling okay? Have you been feeling down lately?

I am right back to square one where I started the New Year. Yup, I gained all my weight back. Plus I think my belly is bigger than ever.

Oh, what can we do!?!? Perhaps if we report to each other each day about our food or habits, it may us think twice about what we are doing throughout the day. Maybe we can suggest ideas about other foods or tricks to try. Are you willing to try that? Or perhaps you have another idea?

Bailyboo- welcome to the group! We look forward to sharing efforts/success/trouble spots together and learning/helping each other to get to their goal. Sorry to hear about your husband passing away. It sounds like you were very dedicated to taking good care of him. A good wife. Now it is time to focus on you and start taking care of yourself. I hope we can help you reach your goal.
  • Today was a pretty good day for me. I tried to stay positive about making the right choices through the day. I got up and went for a walk with the dog. Breakfast was a vitamin drink, and I added a few blueberries. Later, I did a few modified pushups at my desk when no one was looking. For lunch I have a medium salad. When the munchies came in the afternoon, I had a banana. Sometimes the banana makes my mouth break out, but today I was lucky and it didn't. For supper, I had a spinach and cheese veggie schnitzel. Plus another small walk with the dog tonight. So I think it off to a good start. My husband had some strawberry shortcake with lots of fresh whipped cream. I was able to fight the urge and not give in to eating some. I call that a big success on my part. How did you ladies do today?
  • You did good Corinna! I did ok yesterday. I think it's a wonderful idea to report in each day. I really need to lose this extra weight! This will make me think about my choices. I had some donuts leftover from a meeting yesterday and gave them to my son to take home. If they're not in the house I can't eat them
  • Yeah Renee, you found some will power to avoid eating the rest of the donuts by having your son take them away. That's great. If the food is not in the house, you won't be able to eat it as quickly. I wonder if you felt grouchy later. Sometimes I do.

Well today I did pretty good. Walked in the morning, and had my blueberry vitamin drink. Lunch was a little more than I planned though. I had broccoli, baked sweet potato, and eggplant ratatouille. They weren't too bad to eat, just too much in volume. The lunch server is really nice and he just gave me a bigger portion than I asked for. I ate till I was full and then the rest I threw away. So I kept to a good portion size. Later I walked before supper, and supper was Taco salad. And then there was dessert. I didn't want it but my husband fixed me a small blueberry shortcake for dessert. He did make it a small size for me, and understands that I am trying to diet. He just wants to make sure that I don't diet too drastically. Usually I go full force and overdo it, and then give in. I am not trying to make up excuses for eating the dessert. Just trying to help you understand. Anyway, overall the day was pretty good.

    How did your day go?
  • Did good yesterday...we were out in the field most of the day, so I was away from the food Corinna...I had taco salad for supper too! How strange is that! Tonight I'm making Shrimp Primavera with a side salad and diet jello for dessert. Now I just have to watch my portion size. We are baling hay this afternoon and it is wickedly hot and humid. Have to remember to stay hydrated. I usually take a big insulated jug filled with ice water and that helps keep us refreshed. Hope you have a good day!
  • How's your week going Corrina? Mine's been pretty good so far......
