  • Hope you all are doing fine. I did good eating today. Want something more to eat tonight after supper, but managing to stay away from most things. Really don't have that much around in the cupboards or frig to eat anyway. Just chewing on the keyboard right now. lol. Just need to stay busy and not think about it.
  • Good morning all
Corinna - Be strong!! I can relate with the evening cravings. I have been working evening shifts for the last 4 nights and I come home and think I am starving, because I would normally be in bed at that time. Happily I am changing to days now, so back to regular routine.

I somehow have managed to lose 2 lbs. - I think it is the amount of water I have been drinking (lots!) that helps.

    Jude
  • Jude...you did good! Drinking lots of water helps keep me from snacking too.

Corinna..maybe you could try drinking a cup of tea at night...that might take the edge off your night time cravings.
  • That sounds like a good idea. I will have to try a cup of tea to see it that will work. Cold water lately has been making my throat sore. I will give it a try tomorrow.
  • Jude, you are doing great! Keep it up!!! You are an inspiration to us.
  • Corinna - I can't drink cold water either, it gives me a headache - I don't know why, as other cold drinks don't have the same effect.

I always pour my litre of water containers from my water cooler, then let it sit to warm up to room temperature, and I quite often add a squeeze or slice of lemon or lime to it
  • So far. so good this week. I broke a tooth, so It's kind of hard to eat much
  • Oh Renee?!? How did you break your tooth? I hope it wasn't too painful and you are able to get it fixed quickly. I guess it will make you lose weight. Just don't go breaking any teeth to lose more. LOL, just kidding. I am sorry it happened. I hope you get it fixed soon.

Jude-I use to squeeze a lemon or lime in my water too. I haven't done it in a while. I should get back into the habit. Thanks for the reminder.
  • Renee - Oh no, a broken tooth is no fun. I hope it is not painful!

I have been staying on track so far this week, but I feel really puffy this morning. It was hot here yesterday - 30 (I think around 90F) which I normally like, but it is usually dry here and we have had so much moisture that it was really humid. Of course I picked yesterday to catch up on my yard work!! I think the puffiness is due to the heat, so will try to drink more water today to see if that helps

I am really wanting to get down to 200 (or onederland?) by the end of September, as we have a trip planned to Bali, so that is my goal short term.

Just one day at a time, we can do this
  • Well, the tooth is all fixed I broke it eating a tomato sandwich! Today I'm planting some late kale, broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower. Working outside keeps me away from the snacks in the house.

    Jude...you can do it...stay focused!
  • Guess what, the scale says I went down 1 lb this week. Yeah! Finally some progress.
  • Good for you, Corinna! I'm doing the happy dance here....down 2.4 lbs. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thank you so much for all the support...it really helps.
  • Corinna and Renee - Yay for both of you being down!

I will try not to weigh until Tuesday. I am still holding water, and hopefully it will all right itself by then
  • Yeah Renee! You are doing great! Keep it up. That's terrific!!!

Jude, I hope you do good this week too with your weigh-in. I understand about the water. It is important to keep hydrated. If the scale doesn't change this week, then it probably will show up next week. I hoping that it shows up this week with a loss though.
  • Thanks, Corinna - I am increasing my water, but I sometimes forget to drink it when I should. Have been doing a lot of yard work, and sweating quite a bit - you would think I would sweat it out!!

I am also going to try adding some sit-ups in the morning and evening to start getting a little exercise in

Wishes for a good week for all
    Jude
