I'm still trying to figure out what my plan is - but I need to lose 25ish lbs or so. I know I will be eating less and moving more - but I really have to have a plan. I've done Jenny Craig in the past and it's worked - but then when I reached my goal - I couldn't keep the pounds off eating my own food. I can't afford Jenny right now - so I'm going to try something I can do myself. That's the food part - for the moving more part. . . I used to go to Step Aerobics 3x a week (2 years ago) but none of my clubs locations in the area (I'm a 24hr fitness member) have step aerobics anymore. So I'm going to try a Zumba tape I bought and try to do at least the 20 minute workout 3x a week.
Well, that's my plan!
I am finally back on the computer. Yeah! I know it must seem like it was months ago, and it really was almost 2 months.
Since I been away, I also took a vacation. It was definitely a good one. I gained 6 pounds. Yup, it was a good vacation. So with a few days here to get me back on track, get my checkups with the doctor, I should be back on my exercise/eating routine this week. That's my plan for now. Sometimes life throws us a curve, and we just have to figure out how to deal with it.
My ankle is better now, and the tendons seemed to have healed up okay. I am out walking again.

Hi Angimom. Welcome to the group. Sounds like you have a good exercise plan. I have the same problem too when it comes to the eating part. I can manage the exercise, but I have to be very strict with myself when it comes to eating my own foods. I have to find new foods to call my own. Healthy ones too.

Has Spring finally reached you there? No more snowfalls I hope. Has the weather cleared up for you to get outside and enjoy it?
Fall is here now, so the weather is getting cooler at night but it still warms up some during the day. 45 low to about 90 highs. Good walking weather now in the morning or evenings. That should inspire me to get out there more often. July - September are our cold months here.

Hi Corinna, glad you're back. I'm still at the same place I was before. Guess I'm fortunate the pounds aren't higher. My first step is to start moving more. Get up in the morning and get it done! I've been meaning to do it after work, but that never seems to happen. Did some walking today and plan to tomorrow. Have a ballet exercise tape I want to do. Love so you think you can dance tv show - the US version starts in a few weeks. It will inspire me to do my ballet exercise in conjunction with walking.
I'm glad to hear that you didn't gain any more. That is great. Sounds like you are doing a few things right to keep you headed in the right direction. Moving a little bit more each day will get that scale tilting back in the right direction. I love early morning walks! Do you find them more relaxing than the ones after work? Were you able to squeeze another walk in?
I didn't walk this morning, since I had to be at work early, but I did walk a little this evening with my dog. Tomorrow morning I plan on walking. I am looking forward to it.
Today I did pretty good on my meals. (The first few days are always the hardiest. Withdrawals and cravings.) Breakfast was Fiber One Cereal with Soy Milk. For lunch I had a mixed vegetable salad with a few pieces of watermelon for dessert. Supper was a fruit yogurt and a fruit/nut cereal bar. I drank lots of water through the day. Yes, I was hungry during the day. However, I feel pretty good this evening. I am trying to not eat too late in the evening. I think supper was around 5PM.
Wow, ballet has always mesmerized me. Did you ever take ballet lessons? I was never that graceful when I tried doing it, but it was always fun to see others doing it. I would just pretend that I was as good as them, of course, in my own private spot for day dreaming.

I did get out and walk/jog a little this morning. It felt good. Eating went okay today. I got very tired this afternoon and ate just a little more which did give me a bit more energy. I was careful not to over eat which was good. I hope tomorrow goes better.
Hey Ladies, where are you all? I bet you're out enjoying the nice spring weather and doing some great exercises. How's the will power associated with eating going? Mine is like a wild horse sometimes trying to be reined in. Some days are good, and some days the harness definitely needs to be there to take control.

Went jogging with my little buddy this morning. Had a good breakfast later. Lunch didn't turn out to good though. Not good choices for meals at work, so I ended up having a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato, onion, & mushrooms, and some fries. Guess I could have done without the fries, but I needed to eat more than just the sandwich....

Glad to hear your hanging in there. Keep at it and that scale will change very soon. Especially with all the spring activities you have been doing. How have you been curbing those hunger attacks in the evenings?
Okay, I have 24 lbs I want to lose in 5 months. That is about 5 lbs a month to lose. I need to get focused and do this. Today is day 1. For an area that rarely gets rain, it is raining today. So now I am off to a bad start. No excuses though, I have an elliptical, so I should get to work on that.
Hi Corinna, I sometimes have a graham cracker when I crave a sweet at night. You should be able to drop 24 lbs in 5 months. 5 lbs a month isn't too bad. Just stay focused and eat healthy I know you can do it!!!!!!
Thanks Renee! I did work out on the elliptical for 30 minutes this morning. I ate healthy meals today too. Now I just need to cut down on the size of the portions and I think it will help. You do have some will power to eat just one graham cracker. I am not that disciplined. I wish I could be. It's really all or nothing for me. Maybe I can work on that somehow.
Yes, portion control will help alot. It's hard to do when you're really hungry and the food is yummy. I don't have an exercise routine...I'm outside gardening or working the horses and I get really hungry.
