Well it sounds like you are doing good....there is nothing better than doing cardio and weights (light).....What kind of machine does your sister have. You could use your husbands hand weights and barbells....great workout! Before we downsized and sold our house I did all my woking out at home, with handweights and barbells with bench. Also have treadmill, recumbent bike and tapes.....
I have been working on my arms for a year and a half and finally they look good....The hard work does pay off.....However it is more apparent with the weight loss....

I don't know what kind of machine it is.. It has the stations like the overhead pull down bar, the leg lift one, and I think the one that you squeeze your legs or arms...and you can adjust the amount of weight by moving the pin

Is it big and takes up quite abit of room? If it's what I'm thinking those are great machines, you can do many body parts on them.....I would just go over there and play around with it....all the gyms use (and still do) have them....

Beanie - It sounds like, if you get working out at your rate and keep pushing you would be too advanced for Curves anyhow....JMHO

mrs beanie - You did better than me.....I had grandbabies all weekend and am exhausted today - I need a couple more days off....lol
Will go to Jazzercise tonight.......
Also would like to comment on DH involvement - I love that!!! I wish my DH would like exercise more, it just makes it so much better when you do it together... MY DH went to the doctor last week, had to weigh, came home and had a pout on his cute little face and said "Honey Bubby, I'm fat" I looked at him with a smile and said "Oh really?" Only becuz I'm always the one on a eating plan and workout plan, always begging him to join me....

Hey fit chicks....it's been a while, but i'm back on track. I allowed some out of town guests to give me an excuse to fall completely off the wagon (plan wise and exercise wise)...but my lapse will not become a relapse. Even though I was exhausted last night I managed 2.25 miles on treadmill and another 3 miles through neighborhood with DH. Tonight will be more of the same!

Star-Way to go, your ticker looks fantastic and I'm using as my inspiration to drag myself back to my stats....i'm going to be in denial until then ;-)

Take care,
Jen

Yoga this afternoon - 45 mins with a new instructor. She was on some kick about "opening us up due to the full moon tonight." I got charley horses in both feet during the class and both of my legs fell asleep. I can hardly walk. Plus, I didn't break a sweat, didn't even have to shower. I don't feel as though I have worked out.

Carmen - I know what you mean, I like to sweat and to feel the burn. But the fact that you got cramps in your feet and legs isn't good. I have the same problem. Mine isn't due to working out as much to not enuf water and potassium, plus my bunions add to the problem....cramps are no fun and when I get them I try to think why that happened. I don't mind soreness but not cramps....ouch......
You can do a streach workout that is very benificial without sweat though...I think it's just a matter of what we like and don't like. And your finding all that out now - so good for you chick!
mrsbeanie - hope your injury heals soon...the important thing is to know when to give it a rest and heal.....

I find that taking my multivitamin helps to keep away the cramping. That and cooling down from the excersize instead of just stopping all of a sudden.

Welcome back Star!

FormerSkinny - Thanks for the tips.

I think I spoke too soon about the yoga. I didn't sweat true enough, but yesterday I was sooo sore I literally couldn't move without whimpering. Today its not so bad, but it still really hurts in my thighs and chest muscles. I was wondering about the cramping. I don't take potassium supplements, but I do have my Morton's salt and a banana every day. I got cramps in my feet when she had us balancing on one foot and 2 hands, then she made us lift one arm over our heads so we were balanced just on the one foot and one hand, like the ice skaters do. I think my weight was too much for the single foot? Dunno. I couldn't work out yesterday (actually couldn't even walk) due to the soreness in my legs. It probably would have done some good just to try anyway, but my thighs were inflamed. Still are a little bit. But I am going back to yoga today, then for a walk this evening. Wish me luck.
