Hi Chicks!! Here is the July Exercise Challenge thread! Come sign up! We are happy to have newcomers, former monthly exercisers, and our "regulars"! ALL are welcome!! We have a sister thread--the July Weight Loss Challenge http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=175508 --and you can post any weight loss goals that you may have there and your exercise goals here! So feel free to join in! There is no wrong way to set goals! Here, just state an exercise goal(s) that you want to accomplish for July and then work toward it, posting your progress along the way! I'll be keeping a list of everyone's goals and at the end of the month, as you meet them, I'll turn them red and mark them with MET GOAL!! Woohoo! We're all very supportive of each other here, so we'll cheer you on when you are doing well and help you along if you are struggling! So, c'mon now! Let's start anew for the month of July!
Okay, so my July exercise goals are to follow the government's recommendation for healthy exercise, which is 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise per week AND strength-training twice a week. That equals out to 30 minutes of moderate exercise (like fast walking) or 15 minutes of vigorous exercise (like doing the elliptical) 5 days a week and then strength training twice a week. I've been trying to find a good balance, and I think this might work! Of course, if I end up wanting to do more, I always can!

You already know I'm in. I plan to implement core training/strength training three days a week and cardio three days a week. My goal, will be 2100 total exercise minutes.

My goals for July:
Cardio-5x a week for 45-60 min(mostly elliptical, will start running when my ankle heals)
Strength- 3x a week 15 min
Abs- 3x a week for 15 min
I am slowly upping my exercise times. For July I want to complete 900 minutes. I also want to go from 5 days/week of exercising to 6 days/week alternating cardio and strength.

I would like to do 2.5 hours of moderate exercise a week in July (that's 30 mins a day, 5 days a week!) and then 15 mins a day (inc sat and sun) of toning exercise with the resistance band.

New to 3FC challenges, but I participated in one on a South Beach board that I credit for getting my butt in gear.
I am only three weeks into my serious "get in shape" plan - I eventually want to get back into running and set distance goals but I am definitely not there yet!! So for now, I'm just plugging along with walk/jog/elliptical/whatever at as much intensity as I can stand for as long as I can stand it (absolute minimum being 20 min but usually 30+)
I am going to be away from home the first week and a half of July, but I've packed the running/yoga gear and every day will do hill walks. And go to a local gym that charges by the day and/or find some yoga classes, or just practice yoga at home ... man o man, it's going to be a challenge in itself to be away from all my "usuals". But I think I am committed enough to changing my lifestyle that I won't fall off the wagon on my trip.
My goals:
Cardio: 5 days/week, minimum 30 min
Strength: 3 days/week, minimum 15 min
Stretching: 7 days/week, minimum 15 min

My goal is to do the treadmill 5x's a week, will need to see how may miles this will be. I am also going to do moderate weight training for toneing purposes.
