Yeah those are great ideas. My jazzercise class is at the township hall, where they have yoga, palates and body sculpt..
When the weather gets nicer you and someone (friend, DH ) could ride bikes, walk, etc.....
Sometimes 'exercise' is really something right in front of you and actually easy.
Years ago, when I wanted to lose weight, I lived aout 20 miles from the beach and I started riding my bike on the trail everyday after work. It wasn't long til I loved it, I got sunshine, made friends and lost weight.

Where we live in washington there is a fitness trail right across the street and it goes thru Rochester HIlls, Romeo, Washington, allthe way to Lake Orion. I rode my bike on it afew times last year and plan on going way more often this year. I am gonna see if some of the jazzercise girls want to go with me......
I also like to rollerblade.....and walk
Gymgurl - are there Metro parks out in Novi?

Have a question for you gym experts - what is a good quad stretch when your arms are too short to catch hold of your foot for a standing stretch? Do you know the one I mean? (It may also be that the back of my legs and butt stick out, too).

No, but I think I've seen runners doing the one I can't do. You do it standing, right, and catch your foot with your hand, and pull it towards your butt? (bending the knee, of course)

I used to do water areobics, but the club that had a pool was sold and closed to the public. I do need to get my butt in gear, though. You would think that out of 5 dogs, one of them would be good to walk. The chihauhau is too little, the daushund too fat, and great danes walk me. My only chance is our new one, but he really wants to run, and well, I don't think that I am much of a runner!

I just bought Carmen Electra's aerobic striptease. It's fun and challenging at the same time. Anybody else got any good at home exercise DVD's with my schedule at the COD (9-7 M,T,W,F) I can't get to the gym,

Okay, I have a not so funny gym story for you ladies - I went in yesterday, changed pants to shorts, top to t-shirt, trouser socks to athletic socks. Get my towel, mp3 player, and then I go to put my shoes on... Guess what? Shoes are not there - ARGH - I was sooooo disappointed - very sad very sad

LA Girl - I have so many exercise DVD's, but ever since I had my daughter - it is impossible to do exercise at home - I will definitely get you a list of good ones. There is one girl I really like - Minna Lessig - She only has like 2-3 videos - but I just like her style - plus she is not aggrevating to me like some of them. There are another series of tapes she is in too with two other girls - You can choose up to 9 selected workouts depending on whether you want to do arms, legs, buttocks - each are like 10 and you can choose as many as you want from the menu selection _I know there is a place online that carries alot of workout dvd's with reviews called collage video. http://collagevideo.com/ if you type Minna Lessig in the search instructor over to the left - Her four videos will come up - The Quick Fix is the one with all the choices. Each dvd has like 2 diff workouts - one more difficult than the other and each is only like 20 mins so you could do it when you got home or before work- just my .02 worth......

I really want to get on my Gazelle today. I am thinking maybe after lunch, and the toddlers go home. I can't do it with them around, because they always get too close, and WHAM!!!
