Suprisingly not as heavenly as you would think..I was just into ketosis and having that " i forgot to eat" feelings..and then came strawberries..and they didnt taste as good as i thought..but that could have been because i practically have barely any sniffer..stupid sinus isnt making eating fun at all

Heather.... stay off the scale!!!!
Just wait until your weekly weigh-in..
You keep setting yourself up to be discouraged.
Back when I was checking each day I kept seeing I hadn't dropped at all in days and getting pissed.
I was like why am I doing this and not dropping so I quit checking and I still ended up losing 5 last week.

I also saw your other thread about people not noticing, I am in the same boat.
No one other than my wife has said anything yet, I can see the difference a little but when you get to be as big as we are, 20 pounds is probably pretty hard for others to perceive.

Don't worry so much about everything else and the day to day, just look forward to the future and how you will be and look when your done.
We have less than 2 months left to make our next goal let's focus on that for now.

your lucky your wife sees it..my hunny is so not encouraging like i need him to be...and he was blessed with a fast metabolism..he has no idea what its like to struggle with weight issues except for the fact that he cant seem to gain weight no matter how hard he tries...

I hope we make it to that goal!..I guess i wont make it if i keep cheating though..i cant believe i blew it when i got into ketosis finally..i just kept forgetting to eat which wasnt helping..no wonder they tell you to cut down on packets after a week..you cant even tell if your hungry..you stop being hungry..

I have to say I was actually kind of shocked when I saw you say 5 packets... I am surprised someone advised you of that.
I have been on 3 packets since day 1 plus 8 oz of protein for dinner.
They have moved me up to 10 oz of protein which I usually float somewhere in between, it's much harder to get exactly 10 oz lol.
Most of my steaks are 4 oz and so are my chicken breasts, so it's easy to hit 8, not as much with 10.
But that is all I eat, I don't drink as much water as you, I try to get about 96 oz in per day, somewhere around there but I don't really measure.
I take about 50oz to work with me and drink that and then when I get home I have about 4-7 more glasses of water throughout the day, more so when I cycle because I drink out of my camelbak while I ride.

I do have a restricted everyday for my evening snack and that is my third packet of the day... I couldn't imagine having to eat 2 more packets a day.
They mentioned adding another packet to me when my loss stayed at 4 and 5 pounds and I flat out told them no way, that I couldn't eat another packet everyday.
So that's when they bumped my protein to 10 oz.

I have only eaten 3 packets from day 1 and I have never added any extra protein. I have been very VERY strict with myself. YES, I get hungry but I just drink more water. I talk to myself A LOT. Here is what happened to me last night. I was totally out of veggies so my oldest son and I go to the store. We walk in and what is the first thing we see, Strawberry shortcake for $3.17 a whole cake. My son says oh damn I am getting that. So he picks that up and I go about getting my squash and okra for the week. We get home and my youngest says oh man that looks good cut me a piece mom. So I took the cake put it by the sink because I KNEW I was going to get some on my fingers, turned on the faucet and the MINUTE something got on my fingers I put it under the water. Because what is your first instinct? straight to your mouth. I have not ONCE put anything in my mouth since April 27th that is NOT OP.

Another one for you, my youngest and I had a 3 hour drive on Saturday to pick up some rims for my oldest. I ate my breakfast around 10:30 we got on the road at 11 or so. My youngest says mom go to McD's so I can get something to eat so I did. He wanted a #6 large and a McChicken so that is what I ordered him. We get the food is smells AWESOME, HOT FRIES!! he takes his first few fries out eats them and says Mom I feel bad for you not being able to have these fries they are awesome. I looked at him and said you enjoy those fries I am losing weight and you are gaining by eating that and drank my water. I have the mind set right now that I can handle anything, I am not letting anything ANYTHING get in my way. I WANT THIS TOO BAD TO LET THAT HAPPEN.

I only see a scale when I WI. I do not have one at home. I think it was Bella I made promise me NOT TO GET ON THE SCALE until it is your WI day. SOOOOOO Port here is your challage to ME and WAYWARD .....NO getting on the scale until your OFFICIAL WI!....do you think you can do that?

I was thinking the same thing when she said 5 packets. I went out and bought me a liter bottle of water and it seems that I drink more if I am drinking out of that liter bottle than I do if I am drinking out of my glass. After I finish drinking that bottle I just refill and refill and refill....haha

I have my restricted in the morning, because I work from home and get up late. I usually eat 8ozs of protein for dinner but never less than 6oz. This is what I have done since day one.

Hmmm...3 packets only at your starting weight??? wow.. i need to change my mindset..im freaking out thinking im going to die of starvation..what was your average loss doing 3 packets only? Cause even with 5.. i was still losing weight every day until i hit 3.5 weeks..then it stopped..Hmm..yep..definitly..going to have to take those packets down to 3..i see a lot more water in my future..even though i drink 4 litres a day.. im thinking im going to starve on 3 packets..maybe i will stick with 4 till i hit ketosis and then switch over to 3 when im not hungry..maybe that will work?

Drop it to 3, if I can do it at 1 pound heavier than you and 2 inches shorter and Wuv can do it at 90 pounds heavier than you, then you can do it too

Try 3, it has worked for Wuv and it's working for me. Maybe you won't see so much difference day by day if you run 3.
But you shouldn't see it anyways because you are going to stay off the scale.

I like how you skipped right over that from both of us btw lol.

I am averaging 3 lbs a week. I had one week with a +.6 gain by my arthritis was in full swing. I am not starved by no means but I don't just sit and think about food either, I keep myself busy doing stuff. Reading and posting on here is a big help. Or I am on Facebook or reading a book or cleaning. I did some kind of calculator thing on how much water I am suppose to be drinking and it said for my weight I was suppose to be drinking 5 liters of water a day and that is what I drink sometimes 6. I have been on the program now will be 14 weeks Wednesday. I will change my signature so you can see my weigh losses each week.

And im curious..how is it possible to have some people lose like 7 pounds in there 4th week??? How the heck does that work?

Okay im going for a nap now..Now that i have stopped running to the loo from the saltwater flush..im going to go have a nap because it feels like someone has smucked me over the head with a 2x4..stupid sinus cold!!! rawr! and to think i have to go to work tonite!!!

i NEVER did 4 packets a day even from the start. Port I have put my weigh in's by the week so you can see how I have done.

Wayward I don't weigh 90lbs more than y'all....only like 30...hahah....had to pick on you!

MrsD - you can totally make up your mileage. You still have 3 months before your 1/2 and you're 1/2 way to your total pre-race mileage. You CAN do it. You will be surprised by your progress even if you take some time to heal! People can train in 8 and you already have miles under your belt. As long as you hit 9 before the race, you will make it!!

Port - very creative idea about smelling the chicken soup while drinking the salt water. I have been intrigued by the flush and would like to do that type of detox but I know I could never ever drink salt water like that. I might try your method!
