What happened Heather?
Sorry you are feeling crappy, let me know.
Ex-piglet, congrats to you on another great week!!! Keep it up.
To everyone else, good morning.... lazy weekend for me this week and I liked it. Have to do a bunch of driving and go see relatives etc. next weekend so I enjoyed not doing much this weekend other than laundry, cycling, and a little online gaming.
Hope everyone is feeling positive and not hungry this morning.
I will be around today so please drop on by and say hello
So proud of you! I would love to challenge myself to run like that! We are around the same goals. When's your run. I think i am going to start pilates soon when I am down more and then train to run, a friend of mine just did her first 10k yesterday in the FL heat! I will get her to train me. It's all mental i know. I just need my music.
Hey, Lauren - thanks for saying hi. My run is Nov 5th - the Rock and Roll Half Marathon in Savannah... first one they are having there! you'll have to let me know what you think of Pilates... I have always wanted to try it, and...
Ironically, I got up EARLY Saturday morning and cranked out 6 miles, and then came home and promptly broke my toe on baby's bouncy chair! aaargh! I cannot believe I did such a stupid thing... very angry at myself, especially since I don't know if I can make up the mileage after it heals, and may be resigned to walking it instead of running... oh, well, I guess there are worse things, right?
In good news, though, I wanted some SERIOUS comfort food after that (like a full on Southern breakfast, think biscuits with sausage gravy) and hubby actually physically intervened... he stood in front of the fridge and asked me if my toe would feel better if I ate that... of course not, right? So he handed me a pre-made shake. He's a good egg, my man...
Port - I blew it too. I tried really hard to keep my blowing it within some lo-carb limits, but I blew it. DH brought home naughty treats, I had some. I also drank (RC 0/0/0 with vodka). I am sure I actually went over my maintenance calorie level so I am going to try to work out today to burn the calories and be back on plan.
So, my husband has lost more weight than I have doing his own reduced carb, healthier eating plan + P90X. I am finding it hard to stay OP (obviously) in light of his progress w/o such restrictions....
Weekends are a bear, aren't they? I do much better during the week, too... I don't know how much damage 4 slices of Canadian bacon is going to do but I guess I'll find out this week.
Port - was it the donuts?
Coliep - I am really curious what kind of thing your hubby is doing. I also think that men tend to lose more quickly... my hubby's idea of weight loss is eating 3 oreos instead of 6, and going for a walk. And it works. Really ticks me off, though I adore him. (I'm just having metabolism envy.)
Curious if Wayward wants to comment here... just wondering how your experience has been with you and your wife - are you consistently losing more, and faster?

I have lost a little bit more than my wife but she is hanging in there.
Of course I am heavier than her as well.
The first week I lost 10 and she only lost like 4 or 5, but the second week I dropped 3 and she dropped 5.
3rd I dropped 5 and I think she dropped 4.
Last week she was to sick to go weigh-in but she figures around 5 and I lost 4.
So she has dropped around 18-19 and I have dropped 22 so she is keeping right there with me.
Of course it does come down to metabolism and your body's way of dealing with the diet.
Also I started cycling the same week we started the diet, which has probably slowed me a little bit, but only time will tell that.
They increased my protein about 10 days ago so we will see what this week does for me.
I haven't stepped on a scale other than my weigh-in so I won't know until Wednesday.
But normally they say men will lose faster, but she is doing well so far.

Oh No! I'm so sorry! I am glad you have a great hubby! It helps to have that support! Yes it could be worse. Savannah is a beautiful place, even if you walk it it will still be worth it. You still have some time for it to heal, don't overdue it.

Thanks for the feedback... maybe it just doesn't matter that much with this diet - It sounds like you are BOTH doing fantastic!
Ughhhh...it just had to be a bad start to this morning..My daughter was up at like ..12midnight wailing cause she is teething again...i gave her some infant tylenol but man was she ever crying. I tried a bottle and tried taking her to bed with me and the result was nothing...She kept crlying...Eventually around 1 am she calmed down and
went to sleep.. So im exhausted
As for everything else..i sit here typing on my computer having just drank 1 litre of warm water and two teaspoons of un iodized salt..needless to say..because ive been a bad girl the past two days, it was time to take some serious mesures to get myself back on track...so on with the saltwater flush i went..Now im just waiting for it to do its work..I figure it took my cravings away and i had so much more success staying on track when i did it before starting over..so i should do it again..plus i feel rather backed up...so im doing it again..this time it tasted like salty chicken soup almost.. i found that if i held a jar of chicken broth paste up to my nose as i drank my water and breathed in..that all i could taste was chicken even though it wasnt actually in my water...smell is a powerful thing
Wayward..its crappy cause ive got some kind of sinus cold or something..i noticed it after i got home from the lake the other day..and needless to say it has not been fun..i can barely taste anything..and my scale has climbed a couple of pounds..im guessing its from my cheating with the fruit..though its doubtful that i actually gained fat from it..cause i havent ingsted near enough calories to gain 3pounds..Meanwhile..im back on track now..starting with my flush..
Weekends are a bear, aren't they? I do much better during the week, too... I don't know how much damage 4 slices of Canadian bacon is going to do but I guess I'll find out this week.

Suprisingly no..it wasnt donuts..ive stayed away from bread altogether..which is good...cause donuts are usually the cheat food..but it wasnt..it was fruit and pita chips actually...strawberries to be exact..oh and ice cream :s...not good for someone who has issues with dairy..lol....something about summer spells ice cream... It all started with being discouraged about not losing any weight one day... I need some kind of strategy for when i get discouraged...
Since i was doing about 5 packets last week and constantly losing..im going to switch it up now..someone suggested going down a packet or two..
So the old plan of attack was 5 packets and my dinner at night consisting of two eggs plus veg..
New plan of attack:
4 litres of aqua(water) a day
No restricteds this week
3 actual packets plus my 2 egg dinner with vegs
and four a 4th packet..instead of doing another protein packet..im going to use a whey shake..cause i need the protein without the carb intake..the whey shake has only 1 carb total and 1 gram of fat and 100 calories..and 25 grams of protein..I think my body likes the extra protein..so i will drink this last at night before bed...
What da yall think? Cause before i was pounding back 4 eggs at night and that was adding almost 300 calories extra to my diet..plus 4 extra carbs
Yeah I hear you on the kid thing, Alex had a rough weekend, luckily the wife has been doing extra duty with him this week.
She knows I have had a rough time since they screwed me up at physical therapy.
I think I am almost back to normal, of course it has been a week.
About Friday I started to now feel as dizzy, either way I am not going back anymore... it's just not worth it for me.
My coach is based out of my chiropractor's office, who is also a personal friend of mine, so I would rather give him the money and let him take a crack at me rather than go back to the other place.
But so far I have been doing much better with the headaches overall.
That's the bad thing, I hadn't had a bad headache in like 2 weeks, just mild ones by comparison, then they put me in traction and the damn thing backfires and I am dizzy, lightheaded, and have a mild headache for 5 days, um thanks for advancing my therapy to go backwards, wtf.
Port, you need a whole new way of thinking and stop concentrating on that damn scale!! your body is changing no matter if the numbers are showing or not. You cheated so now its time to get back on the right track. STOP GETTING ON THAT SCALE!!! that is enough to stress you out and make you gain. You are obsessing with this and it is not doing you any good to do that.
YOU can do this, you just have to get your will power up and running.

OMG, strawberries... this time of year... I know it was a cheat but it sounds heavenly... hang in there....
I dont know why its the whole scale thing...i guess cause i dont see it in my clothes, i feel like its the only thing to measure any success by right now..
Wuv..what did you do at the beginning when you started? Did you do 4 packets or 3? or did you add in extra protein???
