Port- not sure about the whey protein but I have used it on occassion and might turn to that since I cannot afford IP too much longer. I was trying it out in my coffee earlier on but it was really not tasty. Since you are not doing IP but an alternative in terms of your product and approach, you will have to do what you think is right and is yielding results. Are the packets you are choosing comparable to IP? Otherwise, if the calorie count or protein amount differs a lot you may need more or less . . . I think it is hard to say. That said, in ketosis I believe the theory is that you are not starving even at the 900 calories or so that IP is because your body is burning the remainder from your fat stores.

Oh, and I am also curious about the 7 pounds in the 4th week. I tried polling the IP users on this site but nobody gave me a direct answer about large losses yet not much more to lose. That said, perhaps if you try and stay 100% OP, you too will see such amazing results week after week!

If I could just have 1-2 7 pounds weeks . . . .

Coliep- The saltwater flush seems to get easier each time..This time i noticed it was way easier then last time..but i also found that it makes more sense if you do a few things differently..

1) prep your water and salt the night before..in other words..mix 2 tsp of un-iodized sea salt in 1 litre of warm water and put it away for the night..The longer it sits before drinking the less salty tasting it will be apparently..

2) Gently heat it before you drink it so its warm..if you drink it cold it will make you feel nauseous..Close your eyes and imagine drinking chicken broth that is overly salty..i found that a lot of it is mental..cause this time i didnt gag once..

3) Dont do what i did the first time.. i didnt do it right..and added 2tbsp as opposed to 2tsp.. No wonder i was going to the bathroom all day that one day..i powerflushed..lol..with only doing two tsp i found today that i cleared out in about 2 hours..now its done!

4) Dont weigh yourself after..haha.. i weighed myself and went up 2 more pounds..water retention from all that salt..oh and plus im sick with a cold..so i think im retaining anyway..

In regards to whey: I dont use whey..i order off of nashua from proti-diet..and they are very comparable to IP.. only off by 1 or 2 calories and 1 or 2 carbs..less than 60$ a week will get me through a week..But ive been getting sick of all the puddings and looking to change it up..and i saw a whey shake called Syntrax Nectar and apparently there fuzzy-navel one is the best one ever..People say its not like traditional whey..its not made with milk but water..and it tastes like your drinking juice..there is nothing creamy about it..its compareable to the juices you drink on IP apparently..only it has 2 carbs and 100 calories and 0fat.. and 25 grams of protein..

So i wanted to see if it would add the protein and make me feel more full..Also im only eating 2 eggs for my protein at dinner..thats why i was trying to up my protein for dinner..

Port - IP protocol considers 2 eggs for dinner protein sufficient, so I don't know if your body would need it or not. Perhaps try one week with and one without?

So quiet on here tonight! Where is everyone! I am starting to feel super sore already after today's workout, even though it was short. If I hurt now, I can only imagine what tomorrow morning will bring!

Hah! I havent gone to bed..i got in from work at 1:30 am today and am thus the first poster of the day..and i can say with assurance.. i have had a succesfuly 100% OP day, which wasnt too hard to do considering ive only just been suffering from a migrane for the past...oh 24 hours..It was so bad at times i thought i was going to puke.. It made not eating a whole lot easier... i had barely any appetite.

So today i did

B: Pudding-chocolate blahhhhhh :P Im getting bored of it i think
L: vanilla pudding turned into a shake blended with some ice --mmm tasty different option
D: missed it completely
Late snack: missed it completely

So came home at 1:30 am and proceeded to eat my cooked vegs along with 4 eggs(two eggs for dinner and another 2 to make up my missed protein snack packet)

So i pretty much crammed packet #3 in with my actual dinner along with vegs to complete one official day with 3 packets and one meal.. I had no issues drinking my water..i felt like crap all day so it helped me feel a little better...

Well onward and upward...im going to go to bed now..will check in in the morning..

PS: Cant seem to make pudding cake with the alternatives puddings from nashua..not sure why????

Well I am here this morning, but I am SORE.
I pushed myself too hard last night, and I wasn't wearing the "correct" apparel.
Needless to say I have a raw feeling.
I found out some of my friends have been walking the track, I mentioned to the wife I may want to go this week which she said was fine.
Well I get home about an hour before her so I decided I would get in some riding before she got home.
So I got home did 6 miles on the bike, and then 2 hours later she is like aren't you going to the track.
So I did, and we walked another 4 miles, and if I had changed into proper walking attire I might not be in quite so much pain today
Good day for exercise though, and I had a good time walking with the fellas.
Went home and ate around 10, had my snack around 11 and then went to bed around 12.
So pretty beat this morning but it's another day.
I keep seeing all these great deals on new clothes but I keep waiting saying you know my goal is these wouldn't fit me in 3 more months so why buy new stuff.
I also decided that my goal "gift" will be a new motorcycle suit.
I have had my eyes on one company for the past 2 years, but I didn't want to have to custom order one to fit my large body.
Well when I make my goal weight I am going to order one for next season, because then I will be able to order a normal size lol.

WI#5 tomorrow, feeling optimistic this week compared to last.
Everyone have a wonderful day!!

Hey there Wayward, Why don't you treat yourself to a new set of "workout" attire. It will make you feel better and also look better and I am sure you would be more comfortable. I know you aren't at your goal and it may be too big in 2-3 months but I think you deserve a reward!! I know how it is once your clothes get too big and crawl up between the legs or your shoulders are now down to your elbows....trust me that is where I am...haha...I don't want to buy any new clothes either. Good thing I work at home so I can just stay in my sketti strap shirts and shorts....haha. I have a few shirts that look ok on me now that aren't too big but I don't know what I will do in the winter because all of that clothes is WAY to big for me....guess I'll have to buy a few things....lol

Wayward - 2 words: Body Glide. Excellent for chaffing (I assume that was the result of the improper attire). I started using it when I was training for the 1/2 and it helped tremendously! I used it in all the obvious places (groin, armpits, chest, inner thighs -- wherever there could be any rubbing, repeated friction, or there are clothing seams (the great offenders), but also on my feet to help prevent blisters). Amazon delivers! Sorry you are hurting :/

Sad thing is Wuv, I have no excuse.
I have under armor that I used when I golf or do a lot of walking etc.. I just didn't bother to change before I left.
I am suffering from my own stupidity.

Thanks for the tip, ordered lol.
I love that you told me Amazon delivers lol, it's ironic in that I am the Amazon master. Seriously, I have had PRIME since it came out, I checked for giggles, I have 18 PAGES of orders and that is from the last 6 months. I order TONS of stuff from Amazon, almost all of my baby stuff other than formula come from there, movies, food etc.
Can't beat free 2 day shipping, Amazon Mom discount of 15%, subscribe and save discount of 15%, I get premium huggies diapers delivered for cheaper than Wal-mart special diapers.
Plus no tax in Idaho on Amazon orders. That alone has saved me literally 1000's in the past 4 years I am sure.

Ha, Amazon Mom is what I live by. Shopping with 3 kids ages 3 and under is torture and you cannot fit wipes, etc. in the basket and the kids and the groceries, so we have diapers, wipes, training pants, shampoo, lotion all on subscribe & save via amazon mom. Then I love that I get free Prime so I can order whatever I want and have it in 2 days -- I recently did the walden farms and PB2 that way. It is a true lifesaver!!! I feel like almost every day is Christmas =)

Oh, and I got Jackie (my Cannondale Jeckyll) back from her tune up. I am anxious to get out there and take her for a spin...my poor, negelcted bicycle.
