Morning! Yesterday was pool day here, but I did get on the scale and was shocked to see I had broken through the plateau I was on with a two pound loss! I am really getting into an area that I have not seen on the scale in years and years. Its exciting.

Tom got me up early this morning to walk. I have not gone yet. He keeps wandering in and trying to 'encourage' me to go...but I have had some tummy/gi trouble and I am not sure I want to chance it going for a walk. I thought I would give it a little while - but as I do the temps are climbing. Its going to be in the 90's today, and is already 80.

Yesterday, I cajoled my grandson into trying to jump off the diving board. He has wanted to do this for a while, but has chickened out each time. Well, he told me I could hold my hands out and catch him. So, I got on the slope of the side and held out my hands. He jumped about two feet short of me, but once he came up out of the water, holding a noodle, he broke into a big grin and kicked over to me saying, "I did it! I did it!" I am sure you know what I did for the next hour and a half....yep, kept an eye on him as he jumped off the diving board, over and over and over. He was exhausted when my daughter got here to get him, but he was not cranky. He was still excited over it.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! I will be back to do replies....

Good morning all. I'm finally seeing clear this morning. Next step will be to get new glasses but have to wait till I heal some more. My eating hasn't been good. But hopefully with this all over I'll be back on track. I let DH spoil me and do some of the cooking. I got cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini and a bell pepper out of the garden last night. Yummy. Also got these little peppers that aren't hot too and they're good stuffed. I'll freeze them for now.

Ellen- What a wonderful time with your Grandson. Thats such a moment to treasure. Sorry you couldn't go for a walk this morning. Its going to be so hot here too.

Mercee- Hope you didn't work to hard.

Solly-Woo Hoo on the scale numbers. Now that is great after your vacation. Keep up the good work.

Crystle- How is the treadmill going?

Morning ladies. Got a late start as I had to go and get an epidural. I have the oncologist tomorrow. Seems like the rest of the month is filled with dr appts.

I did manage to walk the dog around the block last night. That wasn't far but better than nothing. Hopefully with this shot I should be able to walk further tonight.

Toni, glad you are seeing clear today. My friend has eye problems from diabetes and she gets shots in her eyes and had to get new glasses but it took forever due to the diabetes. A friend of ours has been sending cucumbers and squash over. The people behind us have corn in their backyard. I hope they share My poor tomatoes do not look like they are going to ripen.

Ellen, How sweet about your GS. I know it gave him lots of confidence and he will be doing it all the time now. I guess you will have to find another challenge for him.

Mercee. sorry you had such a hard day at work. Hope today is better.

Crystle and Chris, where are you guys?

I have to work tomorrow. I wanted to be off to help my DD with my GS's birthday party on Sunday but we have a bid. Makes me mad. Oh well.

Have a great day.

Oh dear we were supposed to go grocery shopping this morning and I over slept. Did get my corned beef in the crockpot cooking. So maybe today will be productive anyway.

Solly- Oh boy hope you get some of that fresh corn. I love the young tender cucumbers. Think I'll grate one cup measurements of zucchini's for the freezer. I've got three right now. Sorry you have to work today...

Morning ladies:

Solly- Enjoy you GS's party this weekend. I hope you have a great weekend.

Ellen- I am glad you got to enjoy your gradson. Have a great weekend.

Toni-Enjoy you veggies from the garden. Have a great weekend.

Summer is a geat time for me with all the fruits and veggies available. I have a friend with a garden and she brings tomatoes and squash to me at work. I worked out yesterday on my treadmill. It was too hot to walk outside with the heat index it was 102 here. I hope to be able to walk outside today. Walking is great for me, when I went to the the dr my blood pressure was 110/73. Thank God I don't have high blood pressure but my dr was still impressed.

Gota go. Have a great weekend everyone.

Good afternoon ya'll. We have been busy busy busy. But I did get a chance to weight and I am down three pounds. Just water weight but still happy to change my ticker. Looking forward to being out of the 190's soon. I only walked on the treadmill once so far but I did walk outside. Outside doesn't seem so bad now that I have a choice, funny how that works.

I apologize for not having time for replies but I will try really hard to get on tomorrow or Sunday.

((Everybody))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Chopped some bell peppers up for the freezer today. Have to put up some zucchini today to. I may make some pasta sauce too. I'm getting over run with tomatoes and don't want them to go to waste. Its hot hot here today as usual.

Crystle- Congrads on the weight loss. Even if it is water weight thats great. I would love to be out of the 190's.

Mercee- Great going on the blood pressure. What a nice friend to bring you tomatoes and squash.

Confession time: Tom and I went to an all you can eat Indian buffet. The restaurant is owned by the brother of a lady he works with. The food was really good...we were about the only non-Indians there! I ate WAY too much. Most Indian recipes are overboard on oils or fat, especially ghee or clarified butter. I know I got way more fat than usual. I tasted a couple chicken dishes too, and had some yogurt. So not entirely vegan, but delicious, and I am stuffed to the point of feeling sick!

Its very hot and humid here. If I ever get to feeling better I am going to go get in the pool for a bit....

MERCEE: My sister lives in Oak Park and she has been telling me how horribly hot it is up there! Good thing you can walk on a treadmill and stay out of the brutal heat!

TONI: Make gazpacho! I am really enjoying it. Its so easy to make! It makes about three quarts, and is just a perfect snack or cool accompaniment to a meal!

Hello my SB buddies. Working on figs and okra again today. One of my mom's friend has a tiny but very productive fig tree. Eating has been decent. The scales are just mean. Sometimes they are up...sometimes they are down. The plan is to walk on the treadmill later today. The guys put some car mats under the wheels.

Ellen...so glad you had a nice time at the restaurant. I think that a treat once in a while helps us to stay OP.

Toni..awesome on your harvest. You can always freeze your tomatoes whole if you have way to many. When you defrost them they slip out of the skins and you can make sauces with them.

Solly...congratulations on your weight loss. I bet the scales are right.

Mercee...hope you aren't working too hard. ((hugzz))

((Everybody)) Hope you are having a fantastic Monday. We are already one day closer to the weekend.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Hello- Went shopping and got me a new pair of pants for the wedding we have to go to in Aug. And DH a new pair of jeans. Its surpriseing to find a pair of dress pants around this small town. I was so excited. Eating hasn't been to good and I blame it on my poor choices and the need to grocery shop.

Crystle- Thanks for letting me know about freezeing tomatoes to make sauce. I usually freeze them and throw them in soup. This time I used my Victorio tomato strainer and just made pulp and juice with them. Then cooked it down into pasta sauce.

Ellen- Still have to get my stuff for gazpacho, not the tomatoes but the rest of the stuff. The Indian buffet sounds wonderful.

hi ladies, have to type this in lower case as my DD computer is doing stange things. The party was nicefor awhile. I noticed my knee was stiff around 1:00, to make a long story short, it got to the point where I could not walk at all. They had to carry me to a chair. I wanted to go home and i t took 30 minutes to gt me to my car aftr they moved all the cars and backed it up to me. I went to the ER and they thought I had a blood clot. I had an ultra sound and they gave me a blood thinner in my stomach. It ended up not being a bloode clot but theythink it is a Baker's cyst that ruptured. I have been sitting in the chair all day. But the pain pills are making me sick. I can't eat anything w/o throwing up. If it is not beter tomorrow, I will get a MRI on my knee, Is there anything else that can happen to me?? Yes, I tell you more tomorrow. It is unfortable typing like this.

Crystle, no the scale was not right. I weighed 9 poundd more at the dr. But my DH thought he weighed the same at home as at work on a calaborated scale.

Ellen your buffet was a perk. You will be fine.

Toni, hope you made it to the grocery. I haven't ate in 2 days and I just tried some saltines. Hope they stay down.

Mercee, good job walkin onthe treamill.

More tomorrow.

Today was a frustrating day. I made more gazpacho, and an interesting eggplant curry for dinner. I tried to throw today, but I had a terrible time. I only got one jar done and three lids. Tomorrow, I will try and do a few more jars to go with the lids.

We have to vote tomorrow. I am so sick of all the political groups calling....

SOLLY: Oh, dear! I hope the MRI shows clearly what is wrong and they can fix it easily. You sure have had it rough! Praying for you....

COUNTRY: Thank you for that tip about freezing tomatoes. My counter is full...AFTER making the gazpacho and putting two large tomatoes in the curry! I did not even venture out to look today...

TONI: You can put just about anything in your gazpacho! I made another batch today, and left off the celery. I have heard of putting corn in it too! I get organic tomato juice at Publix here. My mom used to use both tomato juice and V-8 juice.

Ok, time for bed! Night everyone!

Hello, folks! Today I have a lunch date with a friend. We are going to Sweet Tomatoes, and all you can eat salad place, so I ought to be ok!

I have not tried the new batch of gazpacho yet, but I think it will be my afternoon snack!

I threw one jar yesterday...I never did get back down there to work again. I was too frustrated. I hope the trimming goes ok today, and I may call my friend who offered to teach me Spanish swear words and ask her to come over and tutor me some!

Hi Ladies:

Ellen- Your sald lunch bueffet sounds wonderful. I hope you enjoy your date.

Solly- Sorry to hear about your knee. I hope it is better today!!!

Toni- I can't imagine living ina small town. I sure bet it is peaceful.

Country- How's that garden of yours coming along?

Well yesterday I worked out with a personal trainer at the gym. It is to hot here to walk outside so I went back to the gym. I was bored walking on my treadmill at home. Usually when I get bored that means trouble.

So off to the gym I went and met with a personal trainer. Yesterday we did weights and my upper body and cardio. Today I am going in and walk on the treamill and the eliptical machine. I decided to try something new. I really felt tired but great.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi ladies, still sitting in my chair. I can put some wt on my leg as long as I can hold on to things. I am so bored. If I could do somethingit would be ok, but from bed to chair is so boring. Daytime tv is horrible. My dd and gs stayed with me today. He was in to everything and I was ready for them to go home. I needed a nap. I may try to go to work tomorrow. I figure I can sit in a chair there as well as here I guess.

When I met with my oncologist she thinks I either have a hietel (sp) hernia or gallbladder problems. Is there anything else??

Mercee, it is great that you realize when you are bored with your routine. Getting a trainer is a great idea. I am sure he will work you hard and mix it up for you.

Ellen, You lunch buffet sounds good. I may have to get you to teach me those spanish words.

Off to explore gallbladder symptons on the net.
