  • I got in the pool this afternoon for about 30 minutes and did some water aerobics. It was SO hot! I can't believe how much the water has warmed up in just three days. Right after I came in, it started storming and raining. We really needed rain, so it was great!

Tom is working late. I had no idea how late it was until just now! I think I will go saute the squash and cook his salmon for his dinner so he can eat when he gets home.

Tomorrow is weigh in...I am not sure it will be a good one for me.

  • Darn forgot to weigh in. Will have to tomorrow.
  • Hi Ladies

Solly-- I'm sorry to hear about your back troubles. I pray that the epidurals continue to work. I will keep you in my prayers. Glad the baptism went well. I'm sure you iwill be able to find a water aroebics class and I hope you enjoy it. It will help with the stress on your back and in your life.

Ellen- Sorry to hear you need 2 new cars. I hope you are able to find great deals. How is your vegetarian eating coming along?

Crystle- I am praying for your neice. I think everyone's scale is on strike. LOL

Toni- The weather here is going to be very hot the rest of the week. I just wish it would stop turning chilly one week and hot the next. I am planning to get out on the trail when I get home.

I am not going to weigh-in weekly anymore. My weight has only changed a couple of pounds, yet I am down 2 sizes in clothes( every piece I brought for my trip was 2 sizes smaller) this is so weird. A good friend of mine is working with a trainer and they weigh in every 6 weeks to start. She has lost 22 lbs. She said he doesn't agree with weekly weigh-ins because the body fluctuates to much with water and hormones for women so that is why they will start now to weigh in monthly. I am going to give it a try. I walk 4 days a week so I am looking and feeling great. My husband has started walking with me for the summer and he said no wonder you have dropped so many inches anyone who walks this much has to lose. LOL

Have a great day ladies. Sorry for the long post. I just want to get you guys thoughts on this.
  • Where is everyone?????????????
  • Good afternoon ladies. It has been a busy two days here. I am off tomorrow and looking forward to it. My DD has a retirement dinner for their principal tonight and my SIL has to work so I am picking up the baby and keeping him overnight. I guess we will swim or something tomorrow. I need to do some execise in the pool. I tried to last night, but other than arms, everything hurt my back. I could hardly move when I got home.

Mercee, it is so wonderful about your 2 sizes smaller. I would settle for one right now. I have 2 pairs of pants I wanted to get into before vacation. I don't think it will happen. It is nice that your DH is walking with you. It sure makes the time go faster and it brings a closeness to you.

Crystle, what is wrong with your little guy? I saw your post on FB. Praying all is ok with him.

Ellen, we have had some crazy storms this week. I guess b/c it is so hot. My DD's pool was warm on memorial day. We have never been in it this early before. Now it is like bath water.

Toni, hope the scale is good to you today.

I weighed on wed and was the same as last week. But I know what I am doing wrong. Eating.

Have a great weekend. Happy Father's Day to all of your husbands.
  • Wow I had to sign in and have my password and I couldn't find it for anything. Finally looked down by my chair and there it was. Had to go to the next town and exchange my father's day gift for hubby. Got him some bib overalls but got the wrong size. All fixed now. Its so hot here. Whew!! I weighted this morning and stayed the same. So I'll take that.

Mercee- Sorry no one was on here. Our board is awfully slow. Glad you're doing good. Its nice to have hubby join you.

Solly- Guess it will take a few times in the pool to help maybe. How nice to get the grandson over night. You'll have a good time. Enjoy.

Where are you Crystle and Ellen?
  • Busy doing wash and some household things. Getting ready to make me a smoothie. Staying home and in the cool today. Tonight we're going to grill some chicken. Hows everyone doing?
  • Hi Ladies:

All is well with me. I took the day off just to relax. I am laying around and washing and just doing things I want to do. I will walk the trail this evening with my hubby. Have a great weekend everyone.
  • Eating has been great today so far. I hope I get up earlier and get on the ball tomorrow. I'm lazy today.

Mercee- Hope you're having a great day. Have a good walk this evening.
  • Oh my goodness is it Sat already? I'm having my morning coffee while my dog Jackson sleeps on the foot of my chair. DH still in bed. This is my favorite part of the day. Whats your plans?
  • Back after a long hiatus
    Hello all:

I quit sugar in April and haven't looked back, except for two occasions where I ate something I had been assured had no sugar in it, only to feel like I'd been clubbed a couple of hours later.

May I join your group? I tend to be rather chatty and am pretty good about posting.

After being diagnosed with diabetes in 2007, I had completely forgotten about SB and then last week I was looking for something on the 'web, and "diabesity" was shown along with the sugar busters idea. DING!!! The light bulb went off and I pulled out my book and began reading again. I'm at a point in my life where I'm ready to make this work. I feel too much better without the sugar and refined carbs to ever want to go back to that WOE.

(Did I mention that I am blabby sometimes, too??)

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know everyone.

    Cheers!!

    Claire
  • Woo Hoo glad to have you Waterbaby. Its slow on the week end. In fact our board has been has been a little slow since warm weather started. Love chatty people so come talk away. Sugar is a killer for me. I have such a hard time with it. But back on the wagon now. This is such a healthy eating program. Its the only way I seem to lose. Anyway welcome aboard!!!!
  • Hello everyone! I have not been on the computer very much lately. Just busy. Yesterday, we noticed the air conditioner was having a hard time keeping up in the heat, and after some over the phone trouble shooting with my son in law, my hubby decided the fan shorted out and has to be replaced. NO!! So, its going to be 95 today, I have no car and I am home with no air. Thank God I have the pool!

Waterbaby! Please join us! We like company.

I forgot to weigh last Wednesday...so I will today in a bit. I could not sleep so I am up WAY earlier than usual.

I am SO mad. I just found a fly in my water! yuck!

    Back later!

  • Wowee!
    Ellen and Toni:

    Thanks for the big welcome!!

I have my pedometer on today and hope to get several thousand steps in. I'm a pretty big gal, so every step helps, ha ha!!

It looks like people weigh in on Wednesday. Is that right? Don't want to miss the scale party!

I'll go back and read previous posts so I can get up to speed. Does this thread have many diabetic posters? Man, I felt like I rediscovered a gold mine when I had the epiphany about SB. 'Course, when I tried it before I hadn't been diagnosed with diabetes, so it didn't seem important.

I've posted here a few times over the years and everyone was always wonderful to me. I hope to return the favor, and maybe bring some new business here, LOL!

Have a beautiful morning! I feel like a caged bird this AM - inside at a desk, but I can look out and see a cloudless blue sky. Wish I could play outside until the temp got too high...many weeds to pull, many glasses of iced tea to drink in the shade of either an enormous dogwood or "Maggie Nolia" - a huge magnolia tree who can shade 15 people at once!

    Cheers!

    Claire
  • Happy Monday you all....... Brand new week. I made DH his meatloaf for Father's Day. I made it out of ground turkey and ground round. It came out good. I just made a small one and an extra one for the freezer. Trying to get more veggies in my diet.

Ellen- So glad you're getting your air fixed. That scared the heck out of me if ours has something wrong. We live in a mobile home and its like an oven without. How great your SIL can help out. Watch those flies LOL.....

waterbaby- Hope you get lots of steps in. That walking sure does help. Trying to work up my mind to get on my treadmill. Yes we weigh in on Wed. Now I'll join you for that ice tea under the big tree. Sounds wonderful. I don't have diabetes so someone else will have to answer.

Well ladies hope we have a good day. I'll be back later.
